    Hi Josh, technically the higher noise is caused by lower exposure - as you make the exposure time shorter, you let less light to reach the sensor, and less light means more noise. The same happens when the scene gets dark - you're forced to either increase the exposure (set longer shutter speed or wider aperture), or increase ISO which makes the image brighter but reveals all the noise.

      You would technically be correct there, ISO does not cause noise, but rather makes it “visible”. But nonetheless keeping the ISO low will reduce noise in your image.

    Hello Josh Thank you for your presntation ! I see you are using Nikon .I have a D 700 D 300s and D 7100. I am very happy with Nikon ,but to advance into Mirrorless system I purchased into the Olympus, Lumix system at the OM D e1 mark two and Lumix G 85 level .Taking in consideration processor size and higher ISO concerns what are your thoughts ! Thank you in advance for any input !!!!!
