  • A days floater fishing with the family on a little lake I caught my first carp from over 25 years ago, let’s hope they’re still keen on the dog biscuits for some great surface fishing action

Looks like a nice days family fishing. I’m heading to the same pool in the next couple of weeks with my grandson. I have never been to the venue, he’s never been fishing, looking at Google it looks like there are swims near the house and also the opposite side where it looks like you drive down the side of the buildings, is that right? There's 2 separate pools there that are both perfect for a bit of float and surface fishing. Luncheon meat, corn, pellet or maggot on the float always works well although you do get harassed with the smaller stuff at times too. I've had carp off the top in February so always gives an extra option if you've got a box of dog biscuits or some bread available. You're unlikely to catch much above 10lbs but really nice and frequent action for a family day fishing 👌

The one by the house has maybe 5 or 6 swims and then the 2nd lake round the side/back of the house (where we are fishing) has a further 7 or 8 swims. Just make sure you pay your money through the letterbox before they come round or you pay extra on the bank

@@ChasingCarpDS Thanks for replying, I think it was Ash Tree pool I saw on website, is that the one near the house, what’s the other called? Showed my grandson your video, he’s excited as hell.

@@sjb59 they're both Ashtree, think they were originally 1 lake (may still be joined) but the fishing is much the same in both, the one we were fishing is the bigger of the two with bigger carp but both provide great sport on light tackle. Pint of maggots and it'll be a fish a cast on a float and some of those will be carp and maybe Tench too
