    Sir can you explain logically why the reaction forces are zero when the beam is on the point of of tilting

      Imagine you have a beam held up by two strings as in the problem. Let’s say you keep adding weight on to one end. Eventually the beam will begin to tilt towards the weight as it is too heavy to be supported. In this instance, the beam will only be held up by the closest string - the other string will go slack and there will be no tension there
