Subscribed. Your explanation is excellent. I'm trying to squeeze performance out of my Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 Super, PNY DDR4 2666 16GB RAM. First I tried pushing everything to max and I got a big boost in FPS. I did +130 core clock and +1000 Memory clock. Temps never over 80c. I tried pushing it more but black screened. Now I'll try undervolt with curve scan. Trying to find my bottle neck. It may be my RAM rather than my GPU
Definitely with 3600Mhz RAM and 1800Mhz FCLK you'd get more out of it. Still, strictly for gaming and not for benchmarking, I think your best bet would be to Undervolt both the GPU and CPU, the 1660S as shown in the vid and the 3600 to around 4Ghz static!
Buddy, be careful, because there are no temperature sensors on the memory banks of the 16th line of NVIDIA graphics cards. Chips can get warm, and you won't notice, because this statistics is not output, because there is simply no temperature sensor that would track temperature changes on memory banks. Also, those who do not have this sensor are advised to monitor the "Hottest point of the video card", somehow it is called that, although it shows the temperature increased directly, I tend to get plus or minus truthful information, you need to take an additional -10 degrees Celsius away from the current value of this sensor. Also, if it's not a secret, can you tell if you serviced your video card before overclocking, whether you put thermal pads on the memory chips of the video card and from which vendor do you have a video card?
@@paparealist I never serviced my 1660S other than cleaning the dust off fans. I didnt put thermal pad on memory chips, is that easy to do? I have asus tuf overclocked with dual fans. (+250 memory clock , 925mv at max) , still reaching 125w on furmark (116w on heaven benchmark) .
i think furmark is bugged , tried different scenarios when it reached 125w with vanilla settings & 109-117w with the undervolt
How to unlock power limit, because the app don't let me to go over 100 %
100 is fine, follow just the other steps and be sure to subscribe!
can. undervolt and overclock at the same time?
Yes, this tutorial basically does that if you input the memory offset as well!
Hello friend, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Before the undervolt I had a 1660 SUPER GPU at 74ºC at 1890Mhz and 1040mV. Now with Undervolt I have 68ºC at 1890Mhz and 925mV. Could you tell me if an almost constant consumption of 98% of the GPU in Microsoft Flight Simulator could harm or decrease the life of the graphics card, if so, what alternative would you give me?
I’m really happy it was helpful! Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this! No worries, the GPU won’t suffer from it :)
1915мГц 0,850мВ
my voltage is already at 731 what does this mean
You’re not under load. Open heaven benchmark!
Thanks for the great info, buliding two computers for teens each with a 1660 super.
Great value right there!
my voltage is zero on my 1660 super, can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong with my GPU but i keep blue screening in game. temps seem to never stop rising either
Set it to 900mV 1800Mhz with no memory offset and you'll be good! Also you need to go into settings and enable voltage monitoring and voltage control!
Do you recommand thus card for 1080p high ? In 2023
To be honest, if you’re not playing Cyberpunk or similar games, I’d say ABSOLUTELY yes!
@@ImWateringPSUs if i am what do you recommand ?
@@mapogo835 RTX 3060 or RX 6600
my gpu is Nvidia GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X , i did same thing as it's shown in the video so should i be fine? MHZ went up to 1935 and mV to 925 which i guess is better
Yes it will be fine!
@@ImWateringPSUshey its me again, so i have reinstalled windows, undervolted my gpu again with same parameters but now every time i shut down or restart my pc it resets the undervolt settings to default
well turns out i had to click save config on startup to keep undervolting but another thing is when i set it 1920 on 925 , it sometimes changes to 1935 on 925
@@JjustMero i have the same gpu and experienced the same thing
I had it set to 1920 but it moved to 1935 too
I just did it today, how about you, did it go smoothly?
@@manofculture274 hey, i tried to re undervolt it while gamimg and sometimes while browsing and a miracle happened, it stayed since then. Check if you have your videocard drivers up to date and try to undervolt it while gaming, but don't forget to reset the custom one. for the best shot restart your pc after you reset the custom curve and undervolt it as soon as your gpu gets used.
Will I gain more FPS from undervolt ing or overclocking? In your overclock video you suggested undervolt ing to be better.
You’ll get better 1% lows and better frame stability, overall a better experience. You can also aim for around 2000Mhz on the core with 950/975mV and actually get the most possible FPS so yup, much better way imho!
@@ImWateringPSUs my settings are overheating. I have a 1660ti and i7 cpu. What should my range be for voltage?
in my pc I cant go under cero ...
Yooo, this saved me! I was planning to play Baldur gate 3 but my temps were too high (around 80C to85C) and this has decreased the temps to 72 C on medium graphics!
Glad it was helpful and I really can’t thank you enough for the detailed feedback!
i did your settings but when my games crashed after undervolting and says my driver is not updated. My gpu is updated to the latest date.
Set it to 900mV 1800Mhz and leave the memory at 0!
that's a weird graph, not sure how it works. It shows a celling for MHz (that it not gonna go above 1920) not mV, or mV are derived from MHz?
hello do I need to do this everytime I open my pc or it automatically saves without me opening it again each time?
soo...what you recommend? overclocking or undervolting? its a big difference of fps between them?
Personally I prefer undervolting, overclocking does give you around 10% all the way up to 20% more fps though, but UV really increases frame stability
@@ImWateringPSUs ye,i tried both of them and with undervolting its more stable thanks!
ihave 1660super but volt stays 0 is it okay or what pls tell me
Why my temp still the same? Around 75 to 78°
You might need to repaste the thermal paste, I have a dedicated tutorial on the channel
@@ImWateringPSUs ok thx for the advice
Good Job !
Thanks a lot my man! Consider subscribing:)
Thank you
My pleasure!
Bro my card is at 1530Mhz at 712mV, why is the usage so low?
Honestly it could depend on your CPU or power/thermal limitations. I’d recommend following the tutorial to unlock it!
Hey just wanted to reconfirm it wouldn't cause any BSOD or it wont reduce GPU's life ?
Reducing the life nope, bsod you need to test it out for yourself, but I gave very conservative numbers
@@ImWateringPSUs Yea I have tested it in some pretty intensive games .... no issues so far ... the numbers were really precise tysm
Hello it helps thanx, but what about fan speed we let it auto ?
I do have a dedicated fan speed curve tutorial if you want!
Bro it didn't work for me, the temperature remains the same and I don't see changes in the fps, I'm supposed to have done exactly the same as in the video
and this old benchmark also runs for me with an average of 50-45 fps with a 1660s, I don't know if it's normal
and to top it off recently I realized that I have a stuttering in minecraft java hahaha and the fps reach 5 after walking for a while loading chunks with optifine
I think you do have other problems in your PC at the moment that needs fixing… could be overheating, could be a driver/windows problem
@@ImWateringPSUs and how can i identify the problem? I'm sure my pc has a problem but I don't know how to find it
@@ImWateringPSUs dude
why i have the fan off i cant change it to on
Do you have a laptop perhaps?
bro can you help me i undervolting to 1920 instead of 1920 it drops only at 1530 why is that ?
Do you have heaven benhcmark running in the back?
i have a 1660 and when i did 1920 on the 925, i got 100 voltz more than usual, what should i do here
Set it to less mV
my temp goes up to 87C. is this ok?
