The 1660 and its iterations will go down as one of the best bang for your buck GPUs ever. Thing RIPS for no reason
Along side the rx6600 and its iterations
This lineup of GPUs had and still has incredible value!
@@ProYamYamPC I still have one in my system. I started overclocking it recently and it still plays new games on high at 60-75 fps on the regular
Same here 1660 super I get 70 fps playing warzone 3 on low settings I’m looking to upgrade what’s the best suggestion?
@@blazeetv674Go for something with at least 10/12GB VRAM. It is good for futureproofing.
For power consumption, compact design, and performance, this one wins my vote! I wish I never sold the one I had.
Thanks I enjoy your card very much :D
I just bought one for$100 bucks. I love it so far. I upgraded from integrated graphics, so the the improvement is very noticeable.
Im gonna buy 1 Worth it?
@@TysonYang16 For me it was totally worth it
100 bucks for that is insane, i would probably buy it for like 200
Bought one for 112
@@GundamCreator Nice! It's so worth it.
1660 Super is Still a beast Of video card Still plays the latest games at medium settings some games still go to high
Thanks for the rundown, checkin in to make sure my sibling still can enjoy their GPU this day in age😄
Low power consumption, med to high setting in newer games with 40-60 FPS at 1080p, all at the cost of around 100-110USD (in my country)
What more can I ask for a budget build, 1 of the best GPU I ever have.
Idc what they said about getting a new gpu. Those are hell out expensive at least I'm happy with gtx 1660S. Still rocking it in 2024
@@AzphrinxOfficialsame bro. that and my amd ryzen 5 3600 😂
@@phenomenal8196 my cpu is ryzen 5 5500. Budget matters
yup
I got this about 3 weeks ago and i love it
I can run Fifa 23/DBD at Ultra settings so im happy with it. been using this card since August 2020 and its still runs all games well. Hogwarts Legacy/Mass Effect/Saints Row/etc
THE COMMENT I WAS LOOKING FOR, THANKS
@@Lucas-mb8ub let me know if you want any benchmarks for certain games
mostly overwatch or games like it takes two @@OwninFools2020
I am planning on buying it. How does it run for EAFC 24, if u dont mind me asking
@@kdramamelo I can run FC24 at Ultra settings. I can get away with running FIFA 23 at 2K
I think this and the 1070 are honestly still great gpus if you’re on a budget. You can definitely play a lot of games and have a lot of fun still
pascal's aint that kind of optimized nowadays for modern titles :(
@@joshygaminghub7428 yeh its not perfect, but its also dirt cheap and can defiantly play games well
The power consumption with any 1070 card was ridiculous. Cards would pull 150watts+ while you're mildly working it.
I just picked one up for $90 and paired it with a ryzen 3600 for a spare build since I had some other parts and it runs elden ring and 2077 at 70 ish, 1080p no issues. Some OC was needed but I'm happy with this sub $330 build.
bought this 3 years ago and if my brother doesn't buy it from me i'd probably still rocking it today. I used to play a lot of genshin impact and valorant and this card crush them easily in 1080p. it can even do some 1440p above 60 fps in some game. if i ever have to build pc on budget, this would be one of my pick
3 days ago also got it hope its gona be good gaming experience as you mentioed. Nice one bro❤
Glad I could help out bro!
purchased one for 70 bucks, an absolute banger with fsr 3!
Excellent find mate! Enjoy
I bought one recently (ASUS Phoenix OC) for $100. Definitely a great upgrade from a GTX 1050 2GB, expecially the VRAM. I'm not a gamer, so I probably not going to worry about it getting obsolete anytime soon. But I still would like to see it hold up for many years down the road. I'm also interested to see how it performs on other applications other than games such as video editing, 3D rendering, video encoding and decoding, blender, photoshop, etc.
It's performance should be great in the Adobe suite. Here CUDA acceleration is king!
@@ProYamYamPC That's very good to know.
mine was working pretty good in blender doing to donut tutorial until I got to trying to Sculpt in real time.. then it started to lag behind pretty badly
@@harddrive7316 I've been rocking the phoenix 1660 super since 2019 the only thing i dont like is the temps
@@SeedChases Yeah, it can get super hot underload, especially the smaller cards with single fan or two small fans.
got this last week, works like a charm
Got one with my pc i got last year. It works like a charm.
I have had one for 4 years and it hasn't slowed down its runs games good i can comfortably play every game in fairly high settings such as Elden ring this series of GPUs are amazing as long as you keep good care of it and clean it
I still play alot of my games with it at 1440p its crazy value considering i got it 5 years ago for £200
Had one since day one still now paired with an i5 6500... even if I upgrade I'll reuse it in an extra budget build PC.
I have two of these cards, MSI gaming X, and an MSI Ventus. Both of these are paired with i7 4790, 16gb 1600mhz. They are not my main pcs but they run great! It will do 60+ fps SOLID on Gears 5 at 4k ultra, and runs rdr2 fine and dandy, low temps, super quiet, and one is paired with a 320w PSU..
Lan Party PCs or whats the use case? 🙂 Because i wanna ask u something about the CPUs 😁
I currently have a 560 in my computer and it has done so well for me but it's really starting to show its age
I bought a Zotac 1660 super mine last summer. For a casual gamer like me it's great. According to some it's very comparable to a 3050 and even performs slightly better in some areas.
seems like a good tech channel. you earnt yourself a sub.
Thank you for the sub mate! I’m glad you found value!🙌
Amazingly well vast card. Can handle 4K up scale no problem. Racing games do tend to make it swelter at 74 º C. Guess time to clear the dust. Depends on your rig though. If negative or positive. Still the card sounds so happy grinding. Only if your bypassing software with NVIDIA control panel.. but not to worry! Most games will run it to 63ºC. .. well not trying new games. Most likely like all of consumers we are a waiting for a water cooled GPU. Absolutely missed in the video. It is not the FPS its the TEMP. Sorry its not a comment for the purchase of one... your video was good. But had a lot of too much difficulty understanding for an average user.
Still using the 1660 ti with a 1440p monitor. Runs games well most of the time, but with lowered settings.
I have 1440p 144hz monitor and I am planning to buy gaming pc ( with very low budget 500$) do you recommend this GPU? or should I wait and save more to get better gpu
No. It's not great for 1440 p gaming. Get 3060 or even better 6700 XT. Way more powerful and you will be fine for few years.
@@ishaanmurarka9082depends on the game. I'm like OP that used 1660 Ti for 1440p too and then I upgraded to a used RTX 3060 12GB and while it's definitely better, you should get RX 6700 XT at minimum for 1440p gaming unless you're like me who don't care if the FPS dropped to 50++ and using DLSS
I have had this card since it dropped and I’m only looking to change now. It looks like it won’t have enough VRAM moving forward.
"Can it Still Game at 1080p?" I've run multiple titles from both AA indies (highest possible graphics) and AAAs (medium) at 1440p, and it still runs very well and satisfactorily. I can tell the same story for video editing (also in 1440p), although if your edits are complex, you're gonna need a stronger card for that. This card is very powerful, and I've owned it for 3 years, and even after all that wear and tear, this GPU generates me hundreds of frames per seconds. I'm still considering an upgrade as my demands increase, but by no means is this a weak card.
I got one of these paired with a Ryzen 5 5600g. No issues at all with it.
I love that you use test it on f1 game, it actually the game i wanna play
Bought a cerburus 1050ti 4gb during the gpu shortages the card works like a charm but finally took it last breath when I build my new system and decide to let it roar.
i hated my 1050 ti tbf, only thing i liked was the low watt usage
there is so few good AAA game right now that i doubt it need to be upgraded soon......
I'm still happly running a 1660 ti and finding it hard to find a replacement at a reasonable price.
3060
rx 6600 if youre gaming
I bought mine, a Gigabyte model as I like Gigabyte for years now, about a week before the release of the 30 series by Nvidia. I couldn't afford to buy the about 25% more expensive at the time RTX 2060 and I knew if I waited more time I wouldn't be able to afford any other either. So, I went for it.
On its own at the time it was a very good card. Not as good as the 2060, but still good enough. The only game that couldn't easily handle was Cyberpunk 2077.
After about 4 years, as I still have to use it (and my 2015 PC), I consider myself lucky I at least got this one. It's a good card, low power consumption as I like it, and for the most part still relevant today. Besides, I can't afford to buy the more recent unoptimized AAA games (like Starfield or Alan Wake 2), so I don't get to experience very low framerates in games. :)
Cyberpunk high setting got around 40 FPS, good enough imo
@@david21289 I would say no, but since some days now my PC died and I am back to my GTX 860M laptop.
Msi 1660super aero itx.Fits in my pocket , consumes low , oc'd to max and with rebar on it reaches 72c. I get 60+ fps in spiderman remastered at 1080p in high, get 60-70 fps in BG3 in act 3 in high (although with some drops at 45 fps,in very crowded regions, 60fps in rdr2 , 60+ fps in poe 2, in general it shreds for 60fps 1080p.
struggeling to find anything close to that in price/performance ratio nowadays, still rocking my 1660 super with a ryzen 5 3600 and as an esports gamer i dont see any interesting alternatives. i guess i wait for the 50 series...
I bought a pre-built and it came with this gpu..safe to say I had to get it.
Medium setting not a big deal to me.. adding to cart this week a bnew 1660s
Bought one few hours ago but the pblm being that my cpu (i5 3rd gen) isnt even enough to play GTA V in max settings 😭😭 hope I can experience the full potential of this card soon (i gifted myself this card for my birthday and i wanna upgrade the rest of the pc for christmas or new year)
In my experience starfield performed well for me with the 1660 super getting around 45 to 50 FPS on mid range settings it looks and runs better than the series S does for sure this is a great GPU for the money
I run Starfield at 1440p on 1660 Ti (same as Super) last year and somehow got between 25-80 FPS depending on locations 😂
@ulfricstormcloak7142 the 1660 ti or super are highly underrated they hold their value though
GTX 1660 Super, is a fab buy for £90 used. Cheapest GDDR6 new card I've seen is RX 6400 for £108. Performance gap is huge with 1660super vs RX 6400.
I would take the 1660 Super 100% of the time!
The 1660 Super is 100% faster than a 2023 card....ffs!
I still have one (bought it when it released) and it runs all the games i want very well, though that 6gb of vram will become a bottleneck in the near future. I think of upgrading to a 1080ti, yes it is older, but it is more powerfull and has almost double the vram, the 1080 ti is still a beast, and very cheap nowadays!
Playing dragon age the veilguard right now, game looks awesome. I5, 1660 super, 16GB
There is something I don’t understand. Lots of PC gamers are surprised that 30fps on Steam Deck are „totally acceptable“. Millions of Console gamers never complain about 30fps.
So. And I do understand that 200+fps may be required for fast action competitive gaming. Got it. But what’s the benefit of having more than 60fps for story-driven games like RDR2? I don’t understand. Help!
I mean yeah I play on switch and it's 30fps as I am used to it, but I have played Fortnite on 60 fps on my cousins PS4 pro like the smoothness from 30 to 60 ahhh is so satisfying. Like 70-80 fps with good graphics would be pretty cool hopefully.
The only benefit is it looks smoother to they eyes. And to justify people's money spent on higher spec PC 😂
@@ulfricstormcloak7142 It also has a lot to do with latency and the M/S delay of lower vs higher budget GPU/CPU’s.
I started with the GTX 1070 ITX. But that card run Battlefield 2042 pretty decent. Than i got a gtx 1080 and than i bought a 3070 and now im on a 7800xt nitro +
Nice work bro 👍🏼
Thank you bro!
I used to play with an 1660 super from asus TUF and besides I only got it for 3 years it was more than enough for me...

title: I bought a gpu in 2024
thinking of upgrading my old gtx just straight to this or a 1070,1080 from a 1050. but im still on the fence about it all with the choices.
What did you ended up getting?
I downgraded from a 2080 super to a 1660 super and am having more fun. Optimizing games is fun for me. Setting everything to max 1440p and forgetting about it spoiled me. I would put ultra graphics and think they looked like shit. Now i start at medium and see the differences settings make.
i just dont understand people who benchmark GPUs in CPU intensive games like fortnite or gta
Those are super popular games so that's why people always included them
Decent Gpu for the price it goes for now 🙂 wife still got one in her PC 😂
The price is decent on the 1660 Supers. You could probably find it for cheaper than what I got it for😂
in order to get max performance you need to configure the gpu and the games you play with it correctly. For example I was able to gain an average of 72 fps while running cyberpunk with a photorealistic mod on max graphics all with the 1660 super
GTX 1660 super 6gb is alright, but as i have seen many games reguires that as minimum in 2024 xD so soon im forced to upgrade it, but motherboard supports only 3060 but its 192 bit so gotta go for that :D
$100 used, the GPU is a steal.
Not too shabby 😎
Ikr, it put up a good fight!
im yam yam too, nice little chanel mate, have to come see me rig sometime
Haha, it's a small world!
i have a gtx 970 im gonna upgrade to the 1660 super
just buy a 1080ti it has more power and is just as cheap
hey man, I'm just beginning to get back into PC stuff so I'm very out of touch with all these GPUs and CPUs
Its not much but I'll be starting with a Ryzen5 5600g and GTX 1660, recommended to me by my cousin and friends. Will it be a sufficient low end entry computer, good for games and work or will I be wasting my money?
(Commented this before watching the vid)
Decent setup. Would recommend a 1660 ti or 1660 super if you could find one for similar price, the jump in performance is quite significant.
Still rocking 1660ti,thanks to Nvidia pricing.
Even in 2024 the 1660 Super is the only decent card you can buy for £100.
Hi! I hope i could get a response.. I have an i3 10100 and i paired it with my gtx 1660 super. I'm planning to upgrade my PC but i'm stuck with which part should i upgrade.. Should i upgrade my gpu to an rx 6600 xt or upgrade my cpu to a ryzen 5 5600? Thank you..
possible combo if i upgrade
ryzen 5 5600 & 1660 super
or i3 10100 & rx 6600 xt
It's a bit of a tricky one. I think the main question is: are you happy with your PC's performance? If so, leave it as it is for the time being. If not, depending on the games you play, I would go for the GPU upgrade.
10100 is good enough for 75+ FPS and 1660 supe is a great match. Wait for 2-3 years and you can upgrade the entire platform.
I still use this lol. It’s whisper quiet if you undervolt it and use a custom fan curve. My fans never go above like 1200 rpm
The stock settings are kinda trash tho as it’s got this weird wind up noise if you put it in Q mode, so my fans just run at 25-30% almost all the time instead now
epic vid!
Thank you!
my dream gpu
0:53 does cuda cores matters ??? Gtx 970 has more cuda cores than this ,but has poor performance vs this ???
Only for other application like video editing/rendering. Not so much for games.
how much of a fps downgrade could it be with a ryzen 3 3200g?
+1 new follower
Thank you for the sub!
i am planning to get it used
hello i just got a pc and it has the 1660 super but like in fortnite im getting a big frame drops anyone got some help.
my rog gtx 1050ti 4g can do much better, but why?
I also have 1050ti it's the best
Do you guys think i should get 1660 over 2060?
They are not too far apart, in performance. Price is key, in your question. A RTX 2060 SUPER is a significant upgrade though, contrary to the non-super variant.
what cpu are you using
12400F. I said it before the benchmarks, and it's listed in the description...
Its funny how no one complained when games on consoles only played 30fps and yes 60fps is nice but 30 fps is still playable and for 3rd person games just put sensitivity higher will feel smoother
Will it run F1 24?
Yes it will, juding by the specs EA have released
@@ProYamYamPC thank you, i don't know much about pc gaming looking to make a the switch from console and I dont understand how specs work or what is equal to what lol
