You ever think he offloads in New Bedford cause it's one the biggest fisheries on the east coast. I mean tons of boats offload there.

Why don't they use the winch all the time, it would certainly give the crew longer time before they collapse through exhaustion?
It would turn a 4 hour haul into a 12 hour haul and they wouldnt be able to sleep its alot slower unless the fish is 300-400lbs its quicker to just gaf and drag

Uhh neither. They don't keep the gut piles, heads or fins. The tuna caught(yellow and blue fins) are waaay to expensive for tuna helper! They are (#1 use) sold to hi end sushi restaurants. A monster blue fin(remember in the strictly tuna , line caught/harpoon min length for harvest is 72 inches) can be sold at auction for thousands of $$
10k for 3 months worth of work. that sounds really bad. 40 to 50k a year maybe. who can live on that.

I do like this show. A bad Captain makes a bad crew. Chomper has to go and his wife. She's a gold digger also.
Owner operators. Under a fuck load more pressure than the other skippers. Stand to lose their business, not just their jobs. Everyone else can move to another boat after a bad season potentially. Walk a mile.
Any of those boats out of BL can go 86 miles to the Hudson and load the boat on most days. I fish 1 rod and 1 bait and nail a sword just about every single time I try from May to December some years depending on Gulf stream position. I used to work smaller long liners out of BL and they don't showing you the turtles and mammals they are killing. Not to mention just about every "released" fish is already dead. It's disgusting
