I don't want to do IT surgery; I'm hoping for a SW solution. Any ideas? TIA!
You can buy software to do it with a military grade wipe. A simple free way to do a fairly secure wipe would be to put the C: drive in another PC as a slave drive :d or e: etc. then delete the partition using Disk Management. To stop someone recreating the partition and unformatting it, I would make a small partition and format it with FAT32, then copy a few files over then format it with NTFS and copy a few non important files to it and then delete the partition. After, create a full disk partition and format it. Then install whatever OS you want to sell it with. This will mix up the Master Boot Record and it will be difficult if not nearly impossible for the average person to get any data from it. If you don't have another PC to do it, download a Linux distro and make a bootable USB stick then boot to the USB stick and format the drive, Then install Linux on it, this will overwrite the MBR and the beginning of the disk so will also stop the average person getting at any data. You can format it again and install a different OS if you want.

Hey Rob, look at this news report from Reuters, thought you would be interested as it looks as if 5G is causing problems around airports. WASHINGTON, June 17 (Reuters) Verizon, AT&T agree to delay some 5G deployment until mid-2023 The Federal Aviation Administration said Friday that Verizon Communications (VZ.N) and AT&T (T.N) have voluntarily agreed to delay some C-Band 5G usage until July 2023 as air carriers work to retrofit airplanes to ensure they will not face interference. The two carriers agreed in January to delay through July 5 switching on some wireless towers and depowering others near airports. Verizon said Friday the new agreement will allow it to "lift the voluntary limitations on our 5G network deployment around airports in a staged approach over the coming months meaning even more consumers and businesses will benefit from the tremendous capabilities of 5G technology." AT&T said with the FAA it had "developed a more tailored approach to controlling signal strength around runways that allows us to activate more towers and increase signal strength." AT&T added that it had voluntarily "chosen in good faith to implement these more tailored precautionary measures so that airlines have additional time to retrofit equipment." Concerns that the 5G service could interfere with airplane altimeters, which give data on a plane's height above the ground and are crucial for bad-weather landing, led to disruptions at some U.S. airports earlier this year. In recent months, the Federal Aviation Administration has been urging airlines to complete retrofits of some airplane radio altimeters. Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen on Wednesday urged the chief executives of major U.S. airlines to move quickly to address risks from a 5G wireless rollout by installing filters on radio altimeters, in a bid to avoid potential disruptions at key airports from next month. Airlines for America, an industry trade group representing American Airlines (AAL.O), Delta Air Lines (DAL.N), United Airlines (UAL.O) and others, said at an FAA meeting Friday they learned "the vast majority" of members fleet of 4,800 total aircraft "would need to be retrofitted by July 2023" and raised questions if that is feasible. "Given that the FAA has not even approved solutions nor have manufacturers manufactured these products for most of this fleet, it is not at all clear that carriers can meet what appears to be an arbitrary deadline." The FAA said Friday "filters and replacement units for the mainline commercial fleet should be available on a schedule that would permit the work to be largely completed by July 2023. After that time, the wireless companies expect to operate their networks in urban areas with minimal restrictions." Airlines CEOs on Jan. 17 had warned of an impending "catastrophic" aviation crisis that could have grounded almost all traffic because of the 5G deployment.
@@anthonysach Thanks for your fast reply, Anthony. The 2nd option is way more than I want to get into. The 1st option: "You can buy software to do it with a military grade wipe. " Do I need another pc to run that off of? Probably a dumb question but I'm asking.
Thanks for replying again Anthony. I do appreciate your patience.
If you want to be REALLY sure, remember hard drives are dirt cheap these days. Take your C drive out and destroy it. Drill holes in it, whatever. Buy a cheap SSD, put it in the computer and sell it as is. Then you will know FOR CERTAIN no one can ever recover anything you ever had on it.
@@1cathexis Not sure what happened to my second reply, for some reason I have had a few vanish / deleted recently.
Someone else has mentioned getting another cheap drive for the PC as well, but I would say you could keep the old ones as a back up and encrypt them. I will do another reply because it may have been deleted because of a link or for mentioning a product, maybe because G is not paid for advertising it.
Thanks Rob, helpful and informative as usual. Looking forward to Thunderbird for Android. Have you evaluated 'Fair' email for beacon attacks?
Did you really watched? He said that has no server anymore to try the beacon attack and see if K9 is safe therefore he F CAN'T test the beacon attack. Do ¥0u have some m€π+@/ d¡$@b¡//¡Ty? Also do you people really trust Mozilla corporation? Being less evil doesn't mean not evil.
How does Thunderbird VPN compare to other vpns
What about Postbox? Is it not (almost) similar to Thunderbird?
Rob, did you do a video on stingrays devices?

@@robbraxmantech thanks, I'll research it
Thank you!
They're not really getting an accurate location off your IP, it's just the ISP registration location for that ISP (verizon for me). From what I've seen it's about as accurate as showing the IP # is inside an area like 10 miles by 10 miles. Also in most cases you aren't even inside the area of registration. In my case, my verizon IP shows down in the Washington DC area many miles from my house. Hardly very useful for identifying someone.
Nobody talking about fairmail? This is the real thunderbird for android. I wouldnt ever go back from it. It has even dns delivery confirmation.
I had Thunderbird a long time ago, I don't even remember what my email address was. Had it on a Linux PC.
Thunderbird is used as an email client. For any email. That is separate from a thunderbird email subscription.
i cannot login my institutional mail in thunderbird, it always opens new windows and is unable to authenticate because of that.
Garbage mail system, use prospect mail instead if you use institutional mail service.
How can I recover my password and full name in Thunderbird?? I only remember my email.
Thunderbird suddenly deleted all my email a few days ago, after using it for almost a year. This was after an update in Linux. DON'T TRUST THUNDERBIRD!
hi Rob, do you think its at all possible blue tooth type wireless signals could interfere with human brain and brain signals, 4g 5g transmissions going thru skin and bone and directly through the brain altering it as they pass through thanks my names Jeff love your channel
Rob you should collab with Steve Gibson of Gibson Resource Center it’s be awesome!
thunderbird mobile will be a gamechanger. will be nice to finally 100% get away from outlook.
been using TB since day 1 and never looked back.
So you're making the assumption that Thunderbird on mobile will be a direct replacement for Outlook on mobile when Thunderbird on PC is not a direct replacement for Outlook on PC - not that I personally care about that bloated piece of crap or Microsoft's proprietary Exchange nonsense.
My favored, I use it since it split from FF and before together with FF. I wished there were a Android Mobile version but there's Hope?
I am using Thunderbird in Linux mint.
Hey Rob, look at this news report from Reuters, thought you would be interested as it looks as if 5G is causing problems around airports. WASHINGTON, June 17 (Reuters)
Verizon, AT&T agree to delay some 5G deployment until mid-2023
The Federal Aviation Administration said Friday that Verizon Communications (VZ.N) and AT&T (T.N) have voluntarily agreed to delay some C-Band 5G usage until July 2023 as air carriers work to retrofit airplanes to ensure they will not face interference.
The two carriers agreed in January to delay through July 5 switching on some wireless towers and depowering others near airports. Verizon said Friday the new agreement will allow it to "lift the voluntary limitations on our 5G network deployment around airports in a staged approach over the coming months meaning even more consumers and businesses will benefit from the tremendous capabilities of 5G technology."
AT&T said with the FAA it had "developed a more tailored approach to controlling signal strength around runways that allows us to activate more towers and increase signal strength." AT&T added that it had voluntarily "chosen in good faith to implement these more tailored precautionary measures so that airlines have additional time to retrofit equipment."
Concerns that the 5G service could interfere with airplane altimeters, which give data on a plane's height above the ground and are crucial for bad-weather landing, led to disruptions at some U.S. airports earlier this year.
"Given that the FAA has not even approved solutions nor have manufacturers manufactured these products for most of this fleet, it is not at all clear that carriers can meet what appears to be an arbitrary deadline."
The FAA said Friday "filters and replacement units for the mainline commercial fleet should be available on a schedule that would permit the work to be largely completed by July 2023. After that time, the wireless companies expect to operate their networks in urban areas with minimal restrictions."
Airlines CEOs on Jan. 17 had warned of an impending "catastrophic" aviation crisis that could have grounded almost all traffic because of the 5G deployment.

Can you post this on Brax.me in "rob subscriber's chat" ??? You can just include the link, not the whole article
I installed Linux on my work laptop and tried to set up Thunderbird to work with my company's Microsoft Exchange server. Other than email, things just don't work (Calendar only syncs partially, employee contact lists are missing and don't auto-complete, no Zoom interopability etc.). Is there a better Linux email client that mimics Outlook and plays nice with the corporate constraints of the Microsoft clown world?
With Thunderbird that is.

Why tf did my "davmail" recommendation get deleted?
@@javaman4584 yeah, saw those things happen sometime as well. It's so annoying. At least my old comment didn't consist of more than two or so words this time.
I wouldn't hold my breath until Thunderbird figures out a monetisation strategy (like charging for their software). You almost never find intuitive free and open source applications with great UX that are not backed or funded by large corporations. The exceptions are rare.
Mozilla itself (and Firefox) wouldn't have survived without Google as it is its main source of funding.
If you read this , know that you are not a hero , you are a God , a hero is a God's hard labor! Hmm... don't like Proton?

Can you do a video, dumbing the information? I'd like to charge with the average person.
I told many people that, their phones spy and they see it as a problem.
I just like to bring them to your channel.
Fairmail try it
Been using it for several years now. It's the best client on android hands down.
Except it won't connect to Gmail.
So... it's been a year. _CRICKETS_
I'm having to go back to GMAIL
Thunderbird was great. But with the versions it gets more and more power hungry.
Start version 31.4 in 4 seconds (with some thousand emails and 3 pops installed) vs. version 11 seconds (with only a few test emails and one pop installed)
Also we don't have to talk about the UI and lack of addons - as good addons don't work anymore and the UI is looking like a byproduct of too many drugs by the devs.
Same shame problem with Firefox.
I got an email from lending club on Gmail and as soon as I clicked the link a directed energy attack had triangulated my location and I caught it on the EMF detector app at about about 300 and 35 is normal. it was probably a beacon attack but I did actually click the link but it rane in the browser that is attached to my email not in a new browser. I am getting attacked now. every night.
It's probably aliens.

People that have email accounts.
