  • This song is different from our others, as it's not about popular accounts, but is an autobiographical one. One of our members was terrified unexpectedly by seeing an abandoned house one night--for no apparent reason, and in a town he wasn't often in--only to find out later that it was a known "haunted house" called Amity Hall.
    (Verse 1)
Back in '06, just a college kid,
Thought I knew it all, with the world I'd skid,
But skepticism crumbled, on that fateful drive,
Fate had a twist off of route one-five
    (Verse 2)
With friends beside me, in my old Toyota ride,
To Sheetz we ventured, our hunger as our guide,
But on the way back, a wrong turn I’d make,
And there it loomed, Amity Hall's chilling wake.
    (Chorus)
Lost on a road, in a town unknown,
Headlights reveal Amity Hall's forbidding stone,
Fear grips tight, in the dead of night,
Haunted by a place that steals away the light.
    (Verse 3)
Amity Hall, a name haunted with dread,
But I stumbled upon it, with no warning said,
Rationality faltered, in the face of the fear,
As Amity Hall's whispers drew me near.
    (Chorus)
Lost on a road, in a town unknown,
Headlights reveal a house, eerie and alone,
Fear grips tight, in the dead of night,
Haunted by a place I never knew had fright.
    (Bridge)
Some say it's folly, to fear what we can't see,
But that night in '06, it got the best of me,
A lesson learned, in the mists of the past,
Materialistic thinking is a spiritual mask.
    (Outro)
So if you find yourself, on a road unclear,
And shadows dance where they shouldn't appear,
Remember my tale, of that late spring night,
Christ over all is your way back to the light.
    (Chorus)
Lost on a road, in a town unknown,
Headlights reveal a house, eerie and alone,
Fear grips tight, in the dead of night,
Haunted by a place I never knew had fright.
