This is what Scatman (ski-ba-bop-ba-dop-bop) by Scatman John would sound like if SOAD made a cover with Toxicity / Steal This Album production. Enjoy!

Can we just talk about how perfectly he replicated Daron’s guitar tone?
His Serge impression is pretty on point too.
I wonder if he did a buttload of layered tracks like Daron does/did.
Very toxicity like
Simply identical
Dude is a master chameleon! He nails the tones AND their voices! It’s wild
A Korn version with Jonathan Davis style scatting would be interesting, too. But still...this is brilliant.
UP
That'd be nuts!

@@moonicproductions or if system of a down wrote twist?
How 'bout a GG Allin version?
I'm convinced this guy knows SOAD personally and has Serj and Daron record these vocals as a prank on us.
J'aime cette idée !
They don't sound like this anymore though. This guy is a living time capsule of their sound back in 2001-2002
Serj doesn't sounds like this way anymore
Agree
I miss when soad used to be like this in 1997 - 2002
same bro he got serj’s gentle voice down and THE INHALE SCREAM OH MY GOD
Man you're a genius, please never stop doing this.
Thanks, won't stop!
@@moonicproductions Fucking Master of the universe
💪🏿😎🖖🏿
Glorious
A SOAD version of any lady Gaga song??! Or wait, Bad romance!!! That would be 🤩🤯🙌🏽❤️
@@MyLeili"Pokerface" would be better, imo!! 😉 😃 😃 Leo Moraciolli (??), e. g., did an absolutely awesome cover of "Pokerface", imo!! 👍 👍 🤗 🤗
This performance is cool for so many reasons.
The song was originally sung by a stuttering guy who was embarrassed to speak in public for a long time, "hid behind the piano", and only later overcame it and started singing and recorded this epic hit. (the messsage of the song is really from his experience)
Now this song is covered by a guy who has a malformed hand, but it did not stop him from playing guitar and now recorded this epic cover.
Needless to say, I have neither of those problems, but I could not sing it that fast as Scatman, nor play it as well as Otu. Props to both of them!
as the song itself goes:
"Everybody stutters one way or the other
So check out my message to you
As a matter of fact don't let nothin' hold you back
If the Scatman can do it so can you…"
Just excellent point of view.
I've been watching all these SOAD videos, about a dozen - I never noticed his hand until now! He was rocking too hard, I guess!
@@avonacolyte :) you're not alone.
He even has a video about the hand from few months ago, and there was a lot of the comments there that they did not even notice.
The first time I noticed was when I was thinking about the guitar itself during one of the video. My trail of thoughts was like:
Why does he have the video flipped, the guitar is turned the wrong way... Oh wait, it's not flipped, the text (on his shirt or something?) is OK. So maybe he's just left-handed. Oh wait, he has the guitar strings upside down (left-handed playing on right-handed guitar).. WTF. Oh, now I see the hand... That's unfortunate, but makes his skill even more epic.
@@panda4247 If I knew about guitars I might have noticed sooner. I think I vaguely realised there was something odd about the way he strummed the instrument, but I was too blown away by the music to really process what I was seeing!
I would pay serious money for an album in the style of SOAD!
You just can listen to MANAPART band
@@Marina_Klimovich 🤯Actually pretty good
It's coming man! Check out his last feat in community
@@Ptochkaman Which one do you mean exactly? Not seeing anything about a SOAD album...
@@ghostliver if soad wrote take on me they made with Italian (I guess guy) in the end of video there is album announcement
Never ever would I’ve thought I’d find myself headbanging to Scatman
Hahah awesome
You don't headbang to Scatman? Huh???
legit scrolling through the comments half headbanging when i read this hahaha
I really love this song. The message behind it is so beautiful. The scatman has a severe stutter and has struggle talking, and yet he became an icon singer, turning his stutter into his iconic scat singing style with a lot fo random skibby dibby sounds.
One of the main reasons I love the song
If I had my eyes blindfolded and I didn't see anything, I would be convinced that both Daron and Serj are standing by me at the same time.
You are awesome 🔥❤️
Thanks so much!
This guy is my vote for next year’s Superbowl halftime show.
Has anyone from SOAD heard any of these? You are frighteningly talented.
My daughter has re-played this one thousand times and it doesnt get old.
I'm no longer sad SOAD aren't releasing songs anymore when I have this content!
they released some new stuff like a year ago what you mean
@@EnergeticSpark63 They probably mean in terms of albums
@@JaredtheRabbit They said “songs” so they probably just meant songs in general
@@EnergeticSpark63 I see.
Even if they were not making more songs, they deserve the break after making so many great songs
the lyrics are so deep, man 😍
Absolutely!
Everybody stutters one way or another.
The lyrics somehow match with some of SOAD songs such as Viciniy of Obscenity, for example IMO. Anyway, great rendition!! Outstanding version!
Thanks so much!
Bridge similar to Boom in which is singing: "Why must we kill our own kind?" is much more actual in these times... sadly.
btw great job as always. Thank you for this "Scoom". :))
Thanks so much and very well said!
You're so talented Serj and Daron are living rent free inside your voice wtf 💖🔥
This deserves a lot more views. This is ART.
Never heard a more amazing "wee bop bobob bo". Superb job man.😚👌
Your covers are amazing man
Thanks man!
This is the best thing i've ever heard, no kidding
SOAD is my favorite band, i can literally tell every song you used as a model, and it's so freaking awesome.
I'm a musician, but this is on a whole another level, this is magic.
I cannot! You are just too epic Otu! Love you much and hope you take care.
Thanks so much, take care!
I took about 5 minutes just staring at the thumbnail and trying to imagine how this could sound. Couldn't come up with absolutely anything and here we are now. You couldn't possibly have done a better job.
Thank you, thank you.
and R.I.P. John, wish you would have lived to hear this one.
I'm sure he's watching down from Scatland with love right now 🫡
How can a human being be so incredible talented? I wish I had 1% of his talent.
It's called practising.
If the Scatman can do it so can you
Determination and repetition.
Not only is your performance phenomenal, but you also have an outstanding grasp of character when it comes to the songs’ matches you make. God bless you, sir♥♥♥♥
this just puts a huge smile on my face
This guy is totally brilliant!!!! Incredible how he can adapt the styles and voices
your SOAD voices are the best.
I'll never be tired of those ! Amazing
Holy shit that breakdown tho
Thanks dude!
All I can see here is tons of talent compressed in one person.
Wow! So effortless! Like one hands tied behind your back…..amazing
Definitely sounds like SOAD. Do I need to say more? Using some very iconic riffs and techniques from SOAD, it is FUCKING PERFECT. You make just about every song better. Songs I absolutely despise, you make and perfect in to a piece of art. So much talent
Brilliant! Thanks for providing us with another SOAD cover! You really nailed their style... That part in the bridge with Serj singing is amazing!
Every time I think "Nah, how could this work?" I am absolutely blown away.
Holy shit!!! The vocals are uncanny!!! Genius.
I don't think SOAD could have done a better job being SOAD on this song. Brilliant.
I love your SOAD stuff so much, this one works so well hahaha
Thanks so much!
I swear the voices are identical! Unbelievable!!!!
John was a wonderful person.
This song makes me feel nostalgic
R.I.P.
This is so incredible! Very faithful to SOAD's style and a creative cover that just fits.
Nu metal is technically the 90's Eurodance of metal if you think about it:
- Both genres contain rapping, but not all songs include rapping.
- Both genres are used to refer to songs from a certain era, but there are newer songs within the genres as well.
- There are one hit wonders within both genres.
- None of them are considered mainstream genres anymore, but there are great hits within both genres such as Chop Suey and Barbie Girl.
- The rappers there doesn't get as much recognition as the mainstream rappers as I've actually connected with many of them.
System of a down: Alternative Metal band with many influences ( Hardcore Punk, Heavy Metal, "True" Post Hardcore ) Etc etc etc
The Serj growl-shout at 1:36 was perfection
Caught the Deer Dance and Boom! riffs, this is so well done.
wow this is just an epic cover 🤘 in this hard time 😢 even though the music sometimes makes you smile, thank you for that and greetings from Ukraine.
Thanks so much dude, I'm sending lots of strength your way!
Привет, земляк!
The lyrics are on point, better than Chop Suey for sure
All jokes aside great job as always
Thanks so much!
That inverted deer dance riff from :30-1:00 is so tasty, good shit my guy
Man all the vocals and tones are on point and I don't usually comment on videos

Hope Serj Tankian sees this. What makes this one special is that Scatman John has some serious political commentary in his songs, just like SOAD does. "If part of your solution isn't ending the pollution, then I don't want to hear your story" or "I want to be human *being* , not a human *doing* " are famous lines that really stuck in my head.
Great job here!

i need that guitar tone ong
As much as SOAD is one of my favorite bands, if they were ever to split up for good, we wouldn't miss them as long as you're around 😂 You are addictive!
I was about to click on a different video but caught this on my list - so clicked as I had to hear this.... man I wasn't let down.... well done Moonic Prods, totally brilliant and made me smile for the first time today.... faf...
I love how you get right into it before we’re ready for it lol
How the hell did you manage to get Serj and Daron's voice so perfectly? This sounds so remarkably like System of a Down!
How the hell dont you have hundreds of thousands of subscribers????? You just earned one more. You are wildly talented
He isn´t just replicating the sound and the voices perfectly but the same sillyness of SOAD songs, this guy is fu- awesome.
Keep rocking brother🤘
Maaaaan!!!!! This is awesome!!!! It feels like SOAD is actually playing this!!!!!
At first I was like "what the hell is this?" But after about five seconds it made perfect sense
Haha thanks!
This has NO RIGHT being this good!!
Oh my, NOT the combo anyone has ever thought of, but the combo we need!
DA BEST SOAD impression i ever saw ... whoa
I absolutely love your SOAD covers. I'm amazed by your ability to imitate both Serj and Daron. Will you make "If Mudvayne wrote ..." ?
you are the fifth member of SOAD, confess
He's their ghostwriter 😊
Dude!!! Where have you been my last twenty years of life! Your stuff is perfect. I need tour dates. 😍😍😍😍🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
you make me smile dude ^^ Great job
Great as always bro, spot on, may i suggest Physical from Olivia Newton, Daron already sang this one in Rock in Rio 2015
I'm legit dying in my kitchen watching all your "what if --- wrote ---" vids and my girl and kids think I'm f'n crazy. Much respect my dude!
Im impressed such a young man even knows scatman existed. It was an obscure hit 30 years ago. Maybe more
Thanks, you're truly amazing!
I never thought this song could be made bearable, let alone enjoyable. And yet here we are…. Superb job
100% AGREE
Accurate
*36* 🤟 second
Well done. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was a bullseye
Well, I'm fucking impressed as shit. Wow.
Really, this is the only cover of Scatman that I could find that does a decent attempt at what John Larkin actually tried to show, which was scatting. All other covers kinda gloss the whole scatting thing over. Good job.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
@@moonicproductions I like when in 0:25 you slap the microfone for no reason sksksksksk (sorry for my english).
@@moonicproductions I have an a ideia, God is dead? black sabbath if SOAD wrote.
Or if QOTSA wrote.
Scatman John would have loved this.
Might be because this is the first video I've seen on this channel but I was not expecting such an epic level of awesome
Hey man, maybe an odd question. But do you have tabs for this? I would love to play/sing this 2, but i suck at translating it from hearing as you playing a righthanded guitar left handed :'D
I have listened to this thousands of times. If I was bliind, I wouldn't know this wasn't System of a Down.
This sound is absolutely crazy. I love it.
That doomy breakdown put a massive smile on my face. Awesome man!
I can't believe how much on point this is.
Ok I've no idea why this showed up on my recommendations but I'm so happy it happened. Best video I've watched in a while, wish I could like it more than once. I've always thought metal makes everything better and here's proof
This is both amazing and hilarious, so funny at the same time! Just brilliant!
Bro, out of all the songs you've done, THIS is my favourite. It's just too good. Your SOAD impressions are too good!
I love that its like old school soad style 111/10
This is beyond glorious
Man, you make my day with this cover.
Genius. This is so good
haha i can hear "deer dance" at 0:35🙃
you're a true genius, it must be hard to do it but you do it just PERFECT. 🤝
I Love how you Orchestred (is that a word?) That Song!!
Thanks for filling in the gap of a cover System of a Down should have done! Awesome!
You know it's good when he's able to flawlessly replicate BOTH vocalists.
This is straight fire dude
Oh my *GOD* I love this and thank you for the outtakes 😁
Man I can't stop watching your videos, I just discover your channel, it's epic!!!!
Just found out about this guy and now on a binge. Amazing stuff!
Nice break down. Good mix of Steal this album and First album.
Those breakdowns at 1:50 are like whooooa
Cheers from Argentina!
You're so talented! It's insane how you're able to capture and represent each band so accurately
that was fkn awesome
