Love what you've done all around the mine and mountain, Mike, looking really great. Sounds like you're feeling better and have got your energy back, which is good to see. Looking forward, as always, to further developments.
This is looking great. Love the 4 wheeler road going to the lookout, those make it look like it belongs because those things are all over the place. People forget about those little things sometimes to make it robust. You gave me incentive to make grades on the New El Tarasco N layout, progress is being made between raking leaves.
It’s looking good Mike ! I like the idea of widening out the loop, looks like you have a lot of good real estate to play around with in there. You know us modelers always looking for more room and space .
Hi Mike. Great progress. Especially like the rock dry brushing. I also like the idea of a larger loop at the engine area as well. You can run long trains and the reversing loop being bigger will be a nice help - especially using steel wheels. Glad you guys are feeling better. Tom
The mine area looks good. Like the road going up to the fire tower. You are making good progress keep up the good work. Glad see your feeling better. Hope you and the family had a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day.
Hi Mike, good to know that you recovered from Covid! Thanks for your videos, very interesting for me watching and I always look forward to your next videos! Best regards from Hubertus
Looking great, I am hoping to get even more time in the layout room sooner. I have been working pretty hard on my layout, but I can always use more time in the layout room. Your progress is mind blowing. I may need you to come get me further along on mine. Keep up the great work. Stay safe out there.
First of all you look better than in your last video , great recovery . The mountain area is terrific , it's a good idea to enlarge the balloon track and à great place to store locomotives , I would suggest that you should install a toggle switch for that storage track so the locomotives would not be live , it's better for the loco and prevent contact oxydation after a while .
Mike, Great update on the ACTRR4. The color is so much better then the white plaster. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the balloon loop, I think it is a good idea. Thanks for the update, David.
Mike, It looks like you are feeling a lot better. I wish that I had the energy to work as fast as you do on your layout. Looks great and I really like your scenery…..John
Hi Mike, it's looking good. Don't worry too much about your videos being a little long. I believe we would all enjoy them no matter the length. I know I could watch them all day without getting bored. Looking forward to the next update.
Don't know if you realized it but perfect depth shot at 11:49 tying in the corner transition area in the background (the lightning corner). Amazing how much you've done.
Really good progress Mike! Short or longer videos don't matter, good content is what matters and you put out very good videos! I enjoy watching them all!
Yeah, like David said, I'll watch regardless of the videos length! That said, a lot of folks prefer 15-20 minute videos, but, it's your channel, just like it's your railroad!!! Keep it coming!!! I'm getting inspired as I plan my layout!
Hi ya Mike. The mountain area looks great. I love the fire look out tower right at the top. That mountain is really a great scene block for a lot of the layout behind it. The whole room is very tidy. That’s hard to do when one is working on it. That’s great that you and Gavin were able to run trains together. Thanks for the update. See ya next time.
Thanks Mike! You work at lightening speed! Glad you guys can get together and run trains! Fun! And my two cents... I didn't even notice that the last episode was nearly a half hour! I like learning and seeing the ways you construct scenes and think you can make the episodes any length you want! They're never boring in the slightest! The ACT is lookin' mighty sharp!
The layout is really coming together Mike! I for one don't find your videos boring, they are both entertaining and informative. I'm sure that many of your followers watch the Steve Bennet channel, most of Rob's videos are 40+ minutes. Yours are short in comparison too many content creators. Can't wait for the next installment. Blaze
Please do another detailed video when you do the clouds and storm. I watched one of your older videos a couple of years ago when you did it but never worked up enough nerve to try it. I’m going to do it this winter. Hopefully 😊
You got a lot of stuff done there Mike also looks like you're sounding a lot better I sort of like the ideals of what you're going to do with those two loops 👍👍
Mike I think you may have mentioned it in a previous video, but are you planning on adding trees in the mountains where you have the fire tower? Otherwise, the guys up in the fire tower don't have a lot to watch for since there isn't much vegetation to burn.
@@N-Scale Thanks, i certianly would not want those guys and gals working up in the fire tower with nothing to do all day. They might end up smoking cigars and playing poker.
Nice installment Mike. Short or long, they are all great videos and teaching aids. Quick question... Early in this video you mentioned the vehicle bridge to the mine but didn't say how you are going to surface it. Yesterday I happened to watch ACTRR3 #52 and you described using tar paper for asphalt surfaces. I looked all over the forums and RUclips but found very little info on this approach. Any insight on where to look for more information? I have a bunch of tar paper that I scrounged from a house being remodeled on my block and thought I would experiment with it. Thanks! Ron
I start by making a paper template and once that looks good I place the template on the tar paper and tape it down lightly , then LIGHTLY spray a mist of white spraypaint over the whole thing. I then remove the yemplate and cut out the tar paper. I place it where it goes and mark around it then i put foam Tack down on the board and on the back of the Tar Paper and when the glue dries clear I carefully lay it down and the roll it with a small roller. Mike
Mike, check out The Last of The Dinosaurs on RUclips. (Erie Mining Company) It's about the railroad I worked at for about 11 years. Your setup is really looking great.
Ok. I will send you something for your fire tower road you need. Love the road. I have similar ones. But you’re missing something but don’t worry it’s on the way and I know how to get it to you. The background buildings look fantastic that you 3d made. Except they need advertising posters on the back of them. Look at any black and white old railyard photo and there’s advertising on the back of brick buildings. Soak newspaper ads of old newspaper pics and ads you like and paper mache them to the wall. You need old 1940s or 50s ads. If you don’t have newsprint you can print them from google images on thin paper and do same thing with paper mache paste. Try and make it so you got them thin enough soaked enough you can see your bricks use a burnisher . I also have used a rubber stamp and white ink pad for one of mine to type my own painted brick effect with alphabet stamps. I have one more idea for you. Make the line at the coal mine under wire or catenary. This is a golden opportunity to have a electric short line showcased and interchanging with act. Many large coal mines use electric in your area also in real life. Broadway makes a p5a which you could use. I live the Milwaukee road ones you sold me sir. Diesel, Steam and ELECTRIC What is the kato motor part # you are switching in your atlas locos. Do you require anything else from kato to do these swaps. -thanks Tyler Smith.
Wow , wow, wow this is looking great and I never get tired looking at your videos no matter how long they are.
Thanks Kevin and so glad to have you !!!

Love the progress Mike! I like how you used masking tape to cover some areas of the foam risers!
Thanks , I have always used that method.

Its good you have a good chair in there !! Before long your layout will be finished. Man You Move Fast !!!
