- Speegle family plays "Fast Money". At the last question, they needed 33 points to win $20,000. I pause the video right before it shows the points. For a split second it showed 36 points then changed to 16 and lost the game.
This is live TV. I have the DirecTV Genie and able to pause and rewind.
(The poping in the background is the fireplace.)
When he paused at the two people holding hands, I thought you meant that a couple was cheatin' on each other live.
that's what I thought too lol😂😂
FilipinoSlugger hahahahahahahahahahaha me too
FilipinoSlugger right
🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg that's great
This is the same episode with "NAKED GRANDMA!!!!!!"
I realized that
oh yeah xD
oh yeah xD
what
Matthew Sullivan 16 points missing you did it !!!!
i thought you were referring to the people holding hands, like the guy was cheating on his wife ...just me?, now i feel stupid
Lol don't worry I thought the same. I was like "that asshat!"
+Krista Parsons I thought they ere passing something with the answers on it
trust me I did too
+joey michaels Why do have to be negative?
lol
THAT'S THE GUY WHO SHOUTED THE ANSWER "NEKKED GRANDMA!"
I laughed immediately after seeing that guy.
EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT! When I saw him at the start of this video, I yelled "NEKKID GRANDMAW!"
Oh yeah, it is. xD
Lol it is!!!
that is what I thought
You can confirm this i literally just watched this exact same episode live a minute ago and when that last result for French Toast came through I immediately noticed something strange about the last numbers and paused at the right time; which was hard to catch but was infact there (keep in mind it was before i seen this video or even heard of any such scandals i only arrived here after googling what. I saw). The real result was 36. I have the right mind to bring this to the editors of this show or local newspaper and expose their disgraceful scandal. They cheated that family out of $20000 and i can prove it.
Tom Jaccarino No, you can't.
You don't know anything 😂 Besides they won't care about you're opinion not to be rude. This could have been a simple board error where it at first displayed the wrong number. Besides, its not like that family is gunna get that money now so it really does not matter at all. This is the only time this has happened. Chillax
blubbernugget Im not sure this is a board error. I know how these boards are built. They are given the information by a computer with a predetermined point value. The guys up stairs in the control room have the ability to change or overwrite the value. When they do this, it briefly displays the original value then is overwritten by the changed value. I have seen many different episodes where the values change after the real one is displayed. I uploaded this video not because I want someone to do anything about it, it was just to make people aware that day time game shows are not what they really seem to be. I'm sure the family had signed a contract that said that they are not responsible for errors which with lawyers today, this could be considered a "glitch". So, the family will get nothing. It was just for educational purposes. :) Plus, its a fun show to watch when there's nothing on tv.
Tom Jaccarino looking for conspiracies where there isn't any. There is no way in hell 36 people said French Toast. We all know the definitive answer was French Fries and got the highest number. It was likely just a board error. What possible motivation would FF have to 'switch up the points' for a measly 20 grand and open themselves up to a lawsuit costing them millions. Come on.
+Jack Incm Anericans would have French fries as #1. I would never think of the things you said....
No way the top answer would be French toast, it's America, more Americans would say French fries over French toast
+0955interactive i agree
+0955interactive Who said the number one answer = 36 and was French toast? The last question usually always has bigger numbers.
+Helixide +Helixide clearly you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the game works because that makes no sense at all. All questions have the same size survey pool. It makes no difference what-so-ever what order they're put in on the board. And obviously, the poster of the video is implying that French toast was the #1 with 36 responses. Thats the point of the video...
+Jcreek201 French fries could have been #1 with 37....
French toast makes you fatter
This is crazy. They do this on shows like Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right ALL the time. it's called an "edit in post" or a "post production edit" where they realize that a typographical error or other kind of mistake was made. Standards and Practices would NEVER allow this to go through if it was what is being painted here. If there was an error, the error was made known, edited in post production, and explanations made to all parties involved or in viewership.
+Shannon Woodworth
Exactly...and Standards and Practices came about after the quiz show scandals of the '50s and '60s. And for those curious, those auditioning are even followed to the restroom. (Don't worry, they're not gonna peek in the stall)
+John Lee ha, that was funny.
You cracked the biggest scandal since jfk.
lol
lol..that's a good one
What's jfk most known for? Being open minded.
open minded 😨 bless
oh my gosh that was so clever
im going to go ahead a guess that zero people in the comments understand what you are trying to say in this video. the answer the person gave has absolutely nothing to do with the point you are trying to make. But the number that was displayed changed from a higher number to a lower one period.
Exactly! I'm glad someone sees the point I made. :)
his point is that they tried cheating by hacking the game
+Carinthia Aguayo they didn't try they did.
I don't think they cheated. Why change the number during the very end of the game and not before it? It was probably just a glitch.
InfoRome I think if you get above the score required you win like 20/25 thousand dollars idk if they cheated but that would be a reason to do it at the end of the game.
How can we be certain it wasn't your voice crackling in the background and your fireplace had a cold?
+MelquanKatz Mind Blown!
Good point.
MelquanKatz I love you😂
I love thinking about Bob Roszkowski sitting by his crackling fire doing some frame-by-frame analysis of Family Feud.
+changemytone I've seen stuff on TV for a split second that doesn't make sense, but I don't record much so I can't go back and check it. Today lots of people record or have digital reverse on their set top box.
@@d.e.b.b5788 just a split second? Shoot, I’ve seen entire episodes that don’t make sense.
This was just a glitch.
The laws and penalties for game shows being rigged are so harsh that it isn't financially worth shows being rigged for a measly $20,000. Besides, shows LIKE to to have players win. Viewers like to see people win, and if viewers see people win the big prize in a fair game, they're more likely to continue viewing in the future.
+Hermione Granger not if the government is the one rigging the game. People need to stop having so much faith in our government. We all might as well be walking around with a dildo in our ass because of how much we are screwed by them.
David Sutherland
*eyeroll* Yeah, they killed JFK and caused 9/11 right?
Damn the reptilians!!
+Hermione Granger lmaooo so there isn't an in between corrupt government and reptilians??? someone is an extremist
+David Sutherland well how about YOU try running a country
+JJRicks Studios (j3rsdm5) im not corrupt enough hahaha. people are so blind to the fact that MAYBE the richest people in the country don't give a flying fuck about anyone but themselves. I mean how is this so hard to grasp..... so do a little research before you try to educate someone who has because you just sound inbred.
its a computer had that number in that space last round. Timing of changing the number and displaying the number is two diffrent systems.
you are correct. how this works is they put a red square over the space with the number still there and because the order they put the code in the computer in the number is the thing removed right after the red square due to the order the person typed the code in the program
Best explanation
This video appears to be real, but I want to point something out. If you go back and watch MANY episodes starting in the electronic age of Family Feud (ie: non-light) you will actually see this happen A LOT. This is due to the controller inputting the wrong number to show up on the bored. The bored is controlled by a person, not a computer. It's called "the human factor".
BOARD
1:02 at .25x speed, I am shooketh😂
Maybe the survey guy was like, Oh Crap! Its not 36! It's 16! Yeet!
a board glitch not a cheat
+Jan Chapman I agree
I think so, too. Fries would have to be number one, not toast.
+Jan Chapman Yeah, it's done that on a number of occasions. I've seen it hiccup a double-digit number, then read 0.
+Jan Chapman Yeah, it's done that on a number of occasions. I've seen it hiccup a double-digit number, then read 0.
trTyuh
If you haven’t seen any episodes where a family has lost the game but they return, that means that they have technical difficulties going on and then make the family come back on
I think the computer was thinking "French fries," answer, but than it went to the "French toast," answer
+he chit LOL
+he chit Do you think that the board misheard her answer? After she answers they take a commercial break, during which they put in the values of her answers on the board from a computer. Just like the scoreboard at a baseball game, some one is putting the numbers up from a computer/control box.
+he chit ....thinking computers. Scary.
+he chit Obviously.French fries are well known, toast isn't Add the numbers up they'd be well over 100 if toast was #1.
PGspeed88 one time there was, to make the episode 22 minutes long (30 minute slots on TV, the show is 22 minutes long......8 minutes for commercial's)
On many occasions they have brought families back to play again if there was a mistake that unfairly caused a family to lose the game. That is a sign of integrity.
No, that's a sign that Family Fued need to get their shit together💯
If this is real, im really dissapointed
yes it is
Maybe that's why the old school board was best. It was a big old beast, and the answers were pre-loaded into it during the commercial. Then they would mechanically flip them based on the answers. There was really no way to alter it on the spur. With a computerized readout, anything is possible.
+CrazyWedz Couldn't they edit the answers from behind? There was lots of manipulation in game shows before computers were smaller than entire rooms. There's a movie "Quiz Show" that goes over that.
Definitely a glitch. French toast would not have been #1. Look at any menu in America and you are more likely to see French fries than French toast.
don't Americans eat French toast?
+General Mo Yes, but in a survey of Americans who watch Family Feud, fries would seem to be better possibility than toast. Almost every restaurant in America serves French fries, but a much smaller percentage of them serve French toast.
+ohger1 But you fail to understand that 36% is a smaller percentage of 100% than the remaining 64% is, that French Fries could still easily have a higher %.
Stinky Cheese
I was replying to someone (who may have deleted their comment) that French Toast would necessarily have been the higher answer than Fries.
even if 36 people did say french toast theres still enough votes for french fries to be number 1
I want Game Show Network to air the first 2 seasons of Family Feud with Steve Harvey again.
I've often thought that during the regular game, they would manipulate the answers in order to let whichever family win that they wanted to. But this was clearly some glitch.
Don't care about the "cheating" I'm just enjoying that crackling fire in the background because I just miss that sound after switching to gas central heating.
+Trakker I prefer a wood stove, slow cook bacon on mine all the time.
When errors like this happen they bring the family back onto the show again as another chance and are given an on air apology
I think there's a graphical effect to show numbers randomizing like the computer is "tallying" the answer before the answer is actually shown.
+Andrewsafb71 I thought that at first but if you watch it in slow you can see the 36 on that answer but there isn't any other numbers on the others, so surely if it was an effect it'd do it on all of them
+tardis301192 You are right about that. Maybe his video camera didn't capture the frames of the effects for the other answers since he's filming the TV screen. He's also replaying the video from his DVR and to save recording space I don't think DVRs record every single frame. I don't think it's rigged at all. If they wanted to fuck people over I don't think they would intentionally let something so blatant such as this slip through. They could literally edit anything they want and then release it on TV so if this was an actual "slip" they could of removed it post-filming.
+Andrewsafb71 Not a camera trick. Watch the episode on RUclips. You will see it there too. Im sure that Post either did not catch it or care about it. It happens on many episodes but not all.
Bob Roszkowski You know what, you're absolutely right. Family Feud and its owners couldn't hide their deception with their millions of dollars and let this glitch slip up. I think they're secretly spitting in the faces of the people who know the show is a scam.
agree
That board was just being "cupine". (hey, if "cupine" was an invented word on a FF episode, might as well put it to some use!)
🤣🤣🤣
Good eye, but this doesn't mean shit.
+David S. It means they were cheated out of 20,000
If I lost 20,000 it would be a big deal
+MrGoodcents It means no such thing jackass. It means there was a computer glitch
R Kurtz You're wrong
+MrGoodcents You're Confused.
Not cheating. The board accidentally glitched as "french fries" was supposed to be the 36 point answer.
Electronics don't make accidents lol
This is no longer a "family" show......it has become an ADULT ONLY show. Something ENTIRELY different.
Needs more X-Files theme song.
Being a video editor and working with other technologies I have to say that it looks more to me as if the last score that was in that box is briefly shown before the system catches up. The Zero is just a place holder (a default) You see it happen on your computer all the time. Its called "Latency". The reason why it doesn't happen all the time is the same reason it doesn't happen to your computer all the time.....sometimes it simply has less to do than at other times. Combine that with the fact that This show doesn't offer enough prize money to have any reason to cheat and the show itself is more a comedy than an actual game show. I could be wrong of course, but my feeling is that they are not.
that's why the game show needs to show the top 5 answers on the board to the audience and the viewers
For each question so that they can't cheat
The title said to watch annotations before commenting, but annotations are removed. So, I guess that I can never comment now.
Great observation and video. I don't know if it was just a glitch or what but I would call them out on it. I wonder if these shows that use supposed surveys have an oversight firm to make sure there is no cheating involved. If they don't they really should. Not just Family Feud but all shows. Thanks for the video and keep at it. You never know, you may uncover something really big sometime. Good luck and God bless.
The fact that the number changed, doesn't mean that the first number displayed was the correct number.
Bob glad to see that. I thought i saw something like that. You have given me the truth
It wasn't changed. It is the way the computer program was written. The #1 answer was worth 36 points but it was not french toast, it was french fries. Notice that there are two separate columns, answer and the points. The points are populated in descending order, starting with the highest amount. That is why you saw the 36 first. The second highest answer was french toast, with 16.
French fries could have 36 points. Not French toast though.
They probably hit the wrong survey answer initially and corrected it real quick.
Human error. Not cheating.
1) Why would Family Feud want to cheat a family out of their winnings? Who would watch their show if no one ever won? 2) Game shows are highly regulated. Why would they risk a huge penalty for-what to them-is a measly $20,000? 3) There’s no way 38 people said French Toast.
It was just a glitch. For one, they could have, and would have, changed it before it was ever displayed and not risk this. Second, they are not going to risk losing millions of dollars to avoid paying out $20,000.
Did anybody see that small fraction of a second glitch that took place when the number was revealed it jumped and then watching the video you actually saw it! Just know that this is how life really is it shows you one thing and all of a sudden in the blink of an eye it changes right in front of your face and disappoint you every time!
How do you know that 36 was the right number for that answer? Maybe the person that entered the information accidentally entered 36 when it was supposed to be 16, and had to change it real fast. I've seen the wrong words pop up there to, for just a split second, then the correct word shows up.
Between the guy's earrings and the lady's earrings at 0:04-0:05, I'd keep the $20,000 from them, too!
Wow good catch!!!!!
Looks like Steve Harvey didn't want them to win when she said french toast
Is that the NAKED GRANDMA! guy? LoL
BTW, the board has a glitch. It wasn't a cheat.
OK...there is *NO WAY* they cheated. Like some have said, and I'll say it myself: If they did cheat, then the show would be axed and the staff would be out of a job. It's just like the quiz show scandals of the 50's...and *that* led to Standards and Practices being implemented.
cool u caught this because you can notice it barely
If they were cheating they could've easily edited it out...
I am glad you're feeling better.
You do know that people are typing it in the back, so when it says 36, it was a typo so they fixed it immediatly
Just because it flickered another number means nothing. Feud has been around for far too long to screw people out of money. They have updated alot of their equipment over the years, it was an electrical glitch, nothing more.
+Ziggy Redclaw Actually, I think it does.
When the uploader replayed the event, the first number to appear was 36.
Then, 16 appeared, after 36.
It's not like you can change your mind on the Feud after the
host announces you answer. It either, Ding or Buzz.
Shouldn't the show be held to the same standard?
Seemsayin technology isn’t perfect. Plus he fines for gameshows cheating is so high it wouldn’t make sense for Family Feud to try and cheat out someone a fairly low 20k. Plus people win the 20k often, so if family feud truly wants to save money they would make it harder to win
WRONG First NUMBER shown WAS THE FIGURE... THIS family needs to FEUD
Its simple. Steve harvey announced the wrong miss universe. It isnt a far stretch for him to put the wrong score.
if you missed that then you guys are slow, it said in the title Family Fued cheating not family Fued contestants caught cheating, she even described what she found.
This has to do with the way the application is coded, the number one answer was 36 points, but the way the program read the code it called the list of answer's displayed the number one answer first ( this would be the coding error) as it identified the correct group and then called from the list French "toast". This is fairly common on gameshows as the coding for this is often done by interns or persons in training.
Most likely a error then rigging the game.
You can even see it if you slow down the video and pause really fast
dey cheated badly wata shame.its clearly shown on da screen
stop pausing it
Learn to fucking spell you inbred moron.
Hey there. How's the weather in Trollville?
RIGHT...which is the POINT of the VIDEO ! 31 showed FIRST and SHALL STICK....just like the winning Oscar Movie LA LA LAND...which WAS THE BEST PICTURE in 2017 and a GREAT PICTURE INDEED.
Cheating doesn't involve putting the "right" number up for a fraction of a second and then replacing it with a fake one. If they were actually cheating, only the fake number would have ever showed and no one would have ever been the wiser.
u do realize it could have just been a bug right?
I don't think the show would risk having an actual scandal like this to save $20,000 of prize money. They're not giving out a million dollars every week. I just doubt the producers would be that shady.
WOW!!!! Great catch!!! Good eye sir!!!
The total before that question was 167 points. Yes, I saw the brief appearance of 36 points for that question and then the change to 16 points, with total then set to 183 points. At no time was the total displayed as 203 points, which is what it would have been if the score for that question was indeed 36 instead of 16.
Good catch
nice catch. didn't notice till you went frame by frame
Woah... Good eye
It was probably a glitch; it’s technology. It’s not going to work 100% of the time. Number one answer was probably “fries” for 36 points, but she had said “toast” for 16 and either the guys working the board messed up or the board glitched or something.
your video is BS. french fries would definitely be the number one answer probably 10 people said French toast
Or maybe French fries is #1 with 37.
I think it's just a glitch. There are numerous times where in fact they helped the contestants by giving them the points if they were close enough. Once actually, they sneakily changed their answers to make them win.
have you spoken to Family Feud ?and what did they say?
IT WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST TIME A GAME SHOW WAS RIGGED TO KEEP THEM FROM HAVING TO PAYOUT.
Naked grandma
Same thing happened on the football answer. Appears the 16 was originally 15. It’s more than likely coding of some kind and not outright cheating.
I think the most important thing to remember is the maximum score is 200 and if 36 had been added it would have been 203. This would have been highly embarrassing to the show.
+Daniel Christner 200 is the minimum score they need to get to win. Not exactly 200. You need to watch the show.
+Daniel Christner The maximum score is theoretically 1000...
the maximum isn't 200.
+Daniel Christner Obviously you don't watch the show.
+Daniel Christner HuH? What do you mean.... contestants get over 200 all the time!!
It's not fake, but it's also not proof of cheating. Here's what likely happened:
A computer draws everything 60 times per second (optimally). When you saw "36", the computer had set the value for the last answer at 36, because, at that point in time, the computer had processed enough information to arrive at an answer that was equal to 36 (a different answer - not "french toast"), but a few drawing frames later, the logic had actually finished processing and recognized that the correct value was "16", so you saw the number change from "36" to "16". When you are looking at a computer screen, what looks like static text is actually being drawn 60 times per second. RIght now, the text you are reading is being drawn 60 times per second. If it's the same drawing, you don't notice anything changing, but if something goes wrong and drawing occurs before logical processing is finished, you will see the glitch. This can be caused by hardware malfunctioning and becoming slow or software that is bugged (it's probably the former, as the software in question is relatively simple.) That is probably what happened here. It's likely not cheating, because if you think about it for a moment, there are *much* easier ways to cheat than changing a value at the last possible moment (what an insane way to try to cheat!), and it's also a common computer glitch that can be caused by a number of different things going wrong. It can even be human error -- (remember that someone has to TYPE those verbal answers into the computer, as a computer is not going to recognize human speech reliably enough for a game show. Think of different people's accents and different speech habits and how impossibly hard that would be for a computer to decipher reliably - even Watson needs speech answers typed in with a keyboard.)
Another crucial point to remember -- *Family Feud is not aired live* If they wanted to cheat, they could simply have edited out the frame that shows the number "36" and nobody at home would have ever seen it. If they were cheating, why wouldn't they do this?
Long story short, it's almost certainly a glitch and not cheating. :)
doubt 36 people said french toast
Just because in peoples opinion french fries would be first. You have no idea who they ask where they are from french toast could have been number one and just because the number was 36 doesnt mean that was number one. The number answers could be 40 or 50. I know this video is old but I wanted to correct people in MY opinion. I am not trying to bash anyone. :)
Good eye
I've seen episodes on The Price Is Right where they would key in a price incorrectly in Contestants' Row and it would show up on the podium display with the wrong number before it's corrected.
Omg you've got good eyes!
the mind can pick up microsecond messages!
This is why some evil popular musicians CURSE their music with subliminal messages.
The Zapruder film of game shows.
Clearly a mistake..how hard is to blv French fries would be #1???..C'mon now..get a new hobby. WOW!
+CJ S This video has nothing to do with what the answer is. Did you read the comments?
+Bob Roszkowski Yeah it showed the pt total for fries..I did know how many pts they needed for 200..was mistake ..not pts for toast..thats how I seen it..no? maybe I'm wrong..
Go back to fucking school son!!!
+Mikhail Szafranski what the FUCK aren't you getting it showed the pt total for fries..was mistake toast was 16..again..is it so hard to see #1 answer Is fry and not toast?? why the FUCK wld a show like this cheat.u SERIOUS?? cant afford to cough up 10 20S??? most families dont win the bonus round..what do u see? enlighten me..actually FUCK it..ish at, but since u brought it up
Sorry man, it wasn't meant for u. Calm down bro. It was meant for Bob
It was just a mistake. They might've accidentally put the wrong number and then change it.
they preset them, but the producers can change it if they want
Looks like Family Feud fucking screwed them out of 20 grand to me! That number doesn't just magically change from a 36 to a 16 like that.
because they were caught wearing wires after the show so they knew each other had said when they were doing the final round they weren't screwed they were cheating
PROVE IT
If they were going to change the answer, why wouldn't they have done it at *any time* instead of literally the last possible second? She'd already given all of her answers, the producers could have already done the math.
It was just a glitch on the board. Probably the numbers for "french fries".
Game shows are monitored closely since the quiz show scandals. I think it is the gaming commission. The guy put up the score for french fry by mistake and it was not edited out properly would be my guess.
I played the video in slow motion and you can even see the total coming up as 203 for a millisecond.
Read annotations before cheating.
*Annotations were removed a long time ago!*
french fries should be the most common word anyway. It makes sense
For some odd reason when I watch family feud and some families win and others don’t I figure how can that be with a dumb answer and bingo . Now I see how the game show works by picking and choosing the winners. I hope this family can go back and claim their price money by watching this video..
Its just a glitch, if the number changed from 36 to 16, the TOTAL should have changed aswell, but never did. Was on
167 TOTAL before any points where given, and when it hit 36-16, it only timed it with 16.
The TV should likely explained the mistake to the family and it is just a quick edit. The family likely knew what happened.
I see this happen all the time! It'll show a bigger number for a split second then it'll be smaller.. I'm not sure why that is
Some people are saying that it's a mistake. Maybe so, but they should at least have the balls to stand by their mistake.
The hand person was advancing the video in micro frames and showed that initially 36 was the result but was altered too fast for the naked eye to perceive and replaced with the lower, and losing number. What a scam! French toast was likely the number one answer.
What makes you think 36 was the correct number? Just because it "switched" doesn't mean foul play - just a technical issue. FF has given away countless prize money in 30-something years. WHY would they feel the need to do what you are claiming to random families?
guys, add all the points together and you get 183, there is no scam no rigging.
Bruh, didn't you watch the video? It said 36 and then quickly changed to 16...
