I’ve been using both kinky-curly and Giovanni products for over a decade now. They’re so good
2:02 the 50/50 balance conditioner is everything! It's definitely not a downgrade. The shampoo is ok, I haven't uses the teatree one before so I can't say if 50/50 is the better clarifier but I think it does well when I need more than a moisture shampoo.
I have specific clarifiers I use when I need more, though.
Giovanni has a little scale on the back of their products to help you compare the cleansing of their shampoos. The conditioners have the same scale from light condition to deep condition. Tea Tree shampoo feels more clarifying and is ranked as more clarifying on their scale. That's the downgrade--the scale--which is a positive thing.

I'm in Cali, and our hard water gives Come Clean a run for its money. I always do two lathers when I use it, and I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo for a third lather. My preference is Malibu C Hard Water Wellness. I also enjoy the Giovanni products and the Obia Cream. I actually use the cream under their custard as a leave-in.
My wash day is always spent watching your RUclips videos. Today was a quick one so I made it through two videos and six chunky twists.
All smiles. Just this morning, I wrote down my go-to(s) with notes on what to or not to replenish & at what price points. Learning what goes on sale where/when and at what price points. Sticking to what works. KCC is definitedly on my go-to / replenish list. 📝
Really enjoyed the video. I have the same staples apart from the Pattern products and the Obia cream. Speaking of scent i just couldn't cope with the scent of that cream. Enjoy the Pattern leave in and the Obia custard though.
I’ve been liking Giovanni too!!! I haven’t been able to find the huge bottle of 50:50 at my local tjmaxx. I tried the tea tree but it felt too tingly they my hands started tripping LOLL like I have to wear gloves to use it so def sticking to 50:50
I gave up and bought some 50 : 50 conditioner (smaller pump size) from their Amazon store. All my TJ Maxx has is the shampoo.
Love the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo and conditioner, it’s a staple. I have also tried the direct leave-in. I need a staple curl cream or gel.
For me, it's the taliah whajid curly curl cream. A lot of people will agree with that. Its the ultimate oldie but goodie.
As for gel, that cream goes with wetline.

@@WhatTheKink Thanks for replying. 🙏🏿I have decided to go for options that exclude Polyquaterniums because of how notorious they can be to wash off especially Polyquaternium-10 and it's in a lot of shampoos.

Thank you. This is a wash and go, but unfortunately, I do not know what combo was used. My videos are filmed a bit before they go live on my channel.
The conditioner froths up but that may partially be due to application technique.
Obia custard didn’t make the cut 😮… would you try it as replacement for the pattern custard?

I still like the custard. That’s why I presented a go-to combo and not full on staple wash and go stylers. I use a variety and all pretty equally!
I’d likely not swap it out for the PATTERN. The heaviness of the custard really helps with the climate and makes the results very juicy and shiny.
I saw the big giovanni shampoo/conditioner in TK Maxx and was wondering whether to buy but opted not to. Maybe when I need some later in the year I'll see if they still have. I'm sooo curious about come clean but kinky curly products can be a pain to find on the ground here (I'm not an online orderer) and I rarely ever see the shampoo!
I was talking with someone about this! You’ll pretty much never see the entire Kinky-Curly line in a store. They either don’t sell the other products or something is out of stock!

You’ll notice no individual wash and go stylers did. 🕵🏽♀️ The Kinky Curly + ENBBA is a go to *combo*. Outside of that, I’m still using a variety of other wash and go stylers pretty evenly.

Regular use. It is closer to a moisture formulation than a clarifying one.
