What is the core called where the coolant temp sensor gets connected into? My sensor got brittle and the temp sensor came right off. I’m not sure if I need a new sensor or the core
you probably just need the little c clip. it comes when u buy a new sensor. but if you did break the part it goes into, it is called "drivers side coolant flange"
Mate , how come your coolant didn’t splash out when you’ve removed the temp sensor ? And when you’ve don’t changing it , the temp on a dash wasn’t zero, did u change it on a specific temperature?
hey a little bit of coolant will leak out. and the car was just warm when I changed it. that's why I was careful when removing the coolant cap. this job is best done when the car is cold so you don't get burned. thanks any other questions just ask
@@SidewalkMechanics thanks for your reply! I’ve also just realized that it’s all about physics … because you put the cooling reservoir’s cap back and it holds the pressure in a whole hose so it doesn’t leak ! I’ve had a rough start recently and it might be a ct sensor so I’ve got one today and gonna do it first thing tomorrow !hhh thanks a lot again !
I dont get it. Why is it I have such a hard time trying to get the horseshoe looking clip getting around the sensor without both sides of the clip shooting straight out and not fastening the sensor in place? I'm just at a loss for words cause I've destroyed 3 new clips and the original in a matter of 1 hour! Please help me understand why?🙏
hey man push down on the sensor as you push the clip in. it should slide right in no trouble. it also dosent go all the way on. there should be maybe a 1/4 sticking out on the end of the clip good luck 😉
love the opening xmas tree of dash lights. a true mk 4
believe it or not it's worse now I had snow chains on it and it ripped out the abs wire 😁🤣🤣 good ole mk4
..for me.. the worst thing is the crap plastic VW connector.
Good video!
yeah brother same! I broke mine too 🤬 but he it's a vdub thing haha keep wrenching 🤙
Good stuff Mike

@@laowainese awesome man good luck. I actually just did the timing belt on this car I love it still running strong 💪

I’m did the exact same now I have to get more clips 😭😂😭😂
Ok so my car doesn’t over heat and the check engine light doesn’t trip but the temp light keeps beebing is that the same problem
I would recommend changing the coolant ball! that's where that sensor is inside the ball. send another comment if you need help brother 🤙
My temp gauge was pegged at the top, changed the temp sensor and it didn't move at all. What else could it be?
if the engine is cold and the guage is pegged it sounds like a faulty cluster or maybe the wire is broken
always take your watch off before messing around with car engines/ fix one problem create another, probably a nice deep scratch!!!!
yeah your right bro ! I have a bad habit of forgetting to take off my watch ⌚ 🙃
does anyone know what the housing the sensor sits in is called cant find it anywhere?
VW connectors are the worst!😩
Shows mass air flow sensor fault so let's change coolant temperature sensor 🤣🤣
showed two codes :)
