"easing off the throttle" in both situations? How come? If the rear wheel skids, you put more weight on it by accelerating, that what you said earlier in the video. I'm confused now..
I guess accelerating would take the weight off the steering and cause more confusion.??? I am only 17 and can't drive, however I was practicing (not out of choice) with a rwd gocart.
@@vinceking7878 At 3: 48, when he's into an over-steer (rear-end) spin, he actually says "easing ON a little throttle", not easing off. It's not as clear as it could be, unfortunately.
You can skid a car continuosly and control it if you are experienced enough. How do you think stunt drivers do it for movies? They know exactly how to control a continuosly skidding car WITHOUT pumping the breaks. Skidding a car is the best way to stop it, ABS skids it as well because skidding increases friction with the road, but abs allows inexperienced drivers (who should not be on the road) to control the steering. However ABS cannot stop you quick enough and is a primary cause of many auto accidents to this day. Experienced, Non ABS drivers are the most practical method to reducing the amount of annual auto accidents
Yep, they are ! Do what he says at 3:46 - give it a bit MORE throttle and steer the direction you want to go. The front tyres then have greater control over where the car is going.
@@rangjungyeshe I'm sorry but you're 7 years late and Rilesriles10 has died in a horrible crash due to oversteer due to not getting this information in time.
'special low grip tyres' available from any tyre supplier in the UK under the brand names nankang/linglong/triangle :)

By countersteering in a fwd car, wouldn't it snap the other way?
No, because giving throttle pulls the rear end inward, and while that's happening, you're supposed to be reducing steering angle
Since when a hatchback focus was a saloon?-.-
I’m not connecting the video with the dialogue
2 people have crashed from not listening to this video
When you say ease off the throttle do you mean ease of it completely or ease off and still giving it some throttle
Pan? PAD

Great Lesson. Keep Going. Thanks.
Hannah can do this!
ITS REAR SKIDS THAT WORY ME THE MOST, SOMETIMES I JUST HAVE NO CONTROL.
