It was a very good domestic scrap for fans but neither were world class.
that is the last type of fight you want to have if you are a boxer; fans love that head bashing bruising type of fighting but for a boxer it's a damaging fight that can have long term effects.
No trainer in the world will say 'that's how i want my guy to box' - people don't really understand how badly the brain gets battered during a boxing match like that, it can knock years off of a fighters career.
If they do it again then they both seriously need to work on their skills and defense: both guys have a lot of heart and courage - maybe too much - but you need to be smarter than that.
Look at Lennox Lewis: people criticized his style saying he should have got into more toe to toe scraps instead of cautiously breaking down guys, but when you listen to Lennox speak today he's pin sharp, alert, and very healthy. Contrast that with Riddick Bowe and Holyfield today, both are slurring and have cognitive issues, both fought face first in their careers....
Wardley and Clarke are good boxers, of the two I'd say Wardley can change his style the most as he's still young, but a long way off world class.
I'd rather fight smart and stay healthy than fight brave and get busted.
Duke is on the ball, knows his stuff!! Plus he backs Usyk to do the business on Fury which I agree with. Good to see someone on talksport who doesnt suck up to Fury like that Fury cheerleader Gareth Davies.

For sure but I get his point, Both Fabio and Wardley gassed after a couple of rounds which isn't a good reflection of their stamina tank.. You wouldn't see that with Usyk, Ali, Norton, Frazier etc,.

Duke's calmness and wisdom on the sport is a breath of fresh air to the hype and rubbish spoken half the time today. When Duke said they're not world class because of their engines he's bang on. Lets not forget what world class used to mean with the Bowe v Holyfield fitness levels and Lewis v Holyfield standard. As great a british title fight as this was they were still not at the fitness levels you would demand from the elite guys of the division.Duke was spot on.
I got it. The boys were blowing early on. They aren't world level. But look how long AJ, Usyk, and Fury have been boxing in the pro game. They are veterans. This is british and commonwealth level. Those boys will improve with time, and if they keep the hard work, they'll get there too.
They get where? Neither win a world title trust me. Fringe world at the very best. Neither are kids 29 and 33. It was decent scrap to be fair but domestic or European at best.

Lol, usually after the fight fans will give opinions on who they think won and on this occasion there were very few people who didn’t have it a draw or by a round or two either way, Frazer was definitely the more well schooled fighter fundamentally but there is no way he schooled anyone in that fight, he had good success with his jab but wardleys athleticism, tenacity and punch power made it close.

Weeeell, what is world level in heavyweight today? I have trouble finding 10 active names who would beat them today, so they must be relatively near world level...
In 3 years time fab and fraze will be closer to world level as the level will drop when then top 5 retire (within 2-3 years) but currently there are 10-15 names that would beat them both.
The problem with this current heavyweight division is it is poor in quality throughout.
Arguably the poorest it has even been in terms of top quality boxing.
Apart from the top 3-5 names nobody really stands out or has proved to be a top contender.
When the top 5 retire we will get some good exiting fights but the actual standard of boxing will drop again.
But as long as the fights are good, I for one won’t be complaining.

Usyk, Fury, AJ, Parker, Zhang, Anderson, Hrgovic, Sanchez, Ajagba, Dubois, Bakole, Wilder.
There's a dozen that are established I don't think they beat without knowing too much about any up and coming prospects.Even Joyce,Ruiz and Ortiz would be troublesome for these guys.

Aj,fury, usyk, Parker, Whyte, Dubois, Ruiz, Wilder, Kabayel, Zhang, Sanchez, Hrgovic, Bakolie, Hunter and Jalalov beat the pair of them easily.
Arguably Joyce, Ortiz, Chisora, Ajagba, Anderson and Makhmudov beat them both also.
You can add maybe Franklin and maybe a Wallin. I could go on. Takam, etc…
Without counting I think that’s over 15 active heavyweight fighters that should arguably win against Fab and Fraze.
There are at least another 10-15 good active heavyweight fighters that they could both fight like and be involved in big nights and ultimately get paid.
Look at boxrec to check resumes there are lots of good fights to be made in the heavyweight division.
It’s just some may be unknown to casual fans.
But if you put them on a big Saudi undercard, fans won’t complain as long as the fights are 50/50 fights and end up being good scraps.

@@magnificentmiz8317 I do agree exiting times ahead, but not sure about all the names you mentioned though. On your easily list: Jalalov has a perfect record but has fought absolutely nobody of worth. Whyte and Hunter have both looked terrrible the last years, and I would pick Wardley over them. Kabayel looked exellent in his last fight, but before that he was tought of as just an okay fighter. I do however believe he's the real deal, and think he has a good shot against Sanchez. And Wilder...guess we don't know yet, he might be done or maybe not.

I tried to watch this because I wanted to hear what McKenzie had to say, but Gareth A Davies ruined it and I gave up after a couple of minutes.
GAD can't bring himself to critique fighters since he's too much a part of the media machine now, the way he was surprised at Duke saying, rightly, they're not world class sums it up.
In horseracing terms, they are fully exposed which means they have peaked no more than domestic level..
Team Honest Duke, this was a decent competitive fight, what we should have a few times a year but we don’t, particularly with the heavyweights. Knock over jobs often. Then inactivity and ducking.

Defining world class in the heavyweight division is harder since their skillsets aren’t as high as smaller men, alot of these guys in the top 10 have certain world class attributes, Wilder can’t box for toffee but has always had world class power, Andy Ruiz has world class hand speed, zhang is slow as molasses but punches insanely hard, theres world class and then elite world class which for me is only Fury, Usyk and AJ, guys who can move athletically, change and adapt their styles etc.

Frazer did enough to win the fight.
They were well matched but neither is any of kind epic talent, Frazer Clarke has brought so much of his Olympic style with him, he needs to learn the dark arts more, little bit of nasty in his work, odd proper low shot, no point unless it hurts bad.
Fabio Wardley is quick and very tough and is learning fast, i agree with the draw however annoying they are. In my opinion Wardley will learn more and is younger, i think don't bother with rematch yet, have a few fights more and fight again in a couple of years.
I wish both men well in their future fights.

Wardley has very little defence, if Frazer was a big puncher the fight would have been over in a round, none of them are anywhere near top level,
