Taka wanted a brother so bad that he _let_ Mufasa win. I think that he was quite lonely, seeing that he was the only cub in his pride, until Mufasa was accepted into it. He had the other lions and his parents, but no cubs his age to relate to or play with. I'm also love how the expressions of the characters in this are much more discernible than in the 2019 Lion King live action film. Taka's elated expression when Eshe congratulated him was adorable, and I can clearly tell that Taka is much closer to his mother than he is with his father, Obasi. Eshe even encouraged Mufasa to do his best, even though she and Taka came across him minutes prior. Eshe didn't care that Mufasa was a "stray", just like she didn't care that Taka lost the race. In the end, they were both her precious sons, even though Mufasa wasn't hers. Obasi, on the other hand, only planted seeds of doubt in his own son's mind; setting Taka up to be jealous, hateful, and untrusting.
This scene was so emotional knowing how they would eventually turn out. I know everyone’s going to hate me for it, but I have always been a fan of Scar and seeing how he was such a gentle, kind, loving cub just makes me love him more even if he did go evil.
honestly i don't see why people hate on taka so much, up until the mistake he made with siding with kiros taka was really heroic and compassionate. yes he had some flaws such as being cowardly at times however that doesn't make his good actions invalid and you can clearly see by the end of the movie he's grown and become braver when he jumps in to take the blow from kiros meant for mufasa and also helps mufasa fight kiros and push him back. using the excuse that taka was a coward so he wouldn't be a good king is unfair because a lot of people seem to forget taka literally has no valuable skills like fighting/hunting because of his father obasi, he was taught nothing while mufasa had the advantage of being taught by eshe. of course he's going to be scared and run in a fight, he has no idea how to defend himself. taka was just behind in his learning and if he was given a chance to learn and grow he would have become just as great as mufasa, taka clearly had the capacity to learn since again he already shows signs of becoming braver during the kiros fight. imo mufasa should have stepped back and still set taka up as king while mufasa supported and guided him on the sidelines, with the help of mufasa, sarabi, rafiki, etc. taka would have grown to be a great king and taka would have never gone through with the plan of killing mufasa and overthrowing him because there would be no reason to anymore. it would have avoided so many problems
@@suttagi just one problem: the animals CHOSE Mufasa to be king and they would never accept Taka after what he did. You're also glossing over the fact that Taka literally contemplated letting Mufasa drown. That cannot go unnoticed.
@@DeadmanInc336 if mufasa vouched for taka though and voiced his support most of the animals would have at least given him chance to redeem himself and prove he could be a good king. i'd also like to add during the whole animal scene where they were praising mufasa for defeating kiros not once did he speak out and correct them that taka saved his life and kiros was only defeated with his brothers help (if taka had not jumped in to take that blow from kiros mufasa would absolutely be dead, kiros was aiming directly for his throat. mufasa also could not have backed kiros up and make him fall into the water alone, again he needed taka's help as a backup to push him back) mufasa stays quiet on this fact during the scene and essentially takes the entire credit to himself of getting rid of kiros. if mufasa had actually spoken out and explained this the animals would have 100% seen taka in a better light and become more likely to give taka a chance. they essentially listen to whatever mufasa says, i'm sure with some talking mufasa could convince them. you're right however while taka could have left mufasa to drown he didn't, he only contemplated it yet stayed strong and chose the right option in saving mufasa. taka has the capability of both evil and good, my whole point is if he was at least given a chance to lead as king and properly supported and guided by mufasa, sarabi, rafiki, etc. his better traits would have been nurtured until he grew and developed into a proper lion and a good king. the reason he initially made the mistake of siding with kiros was because he believed no one really liked him and that he was always second best to mufasa as well as feeling slighted by mufasa when he accepted sarabi's love without discussing it with taka first (also just to clarify i don't blame sarabi in this she can 100% feel attraction to who she wants to, i'm moreso faulting mufasa for eventually giving in and accepting her advances instead of staying firm in respect for taka) by mufasa accepting the title of king he only fed directly into taka's fears and made him believe his thoughts were true all along that mufasa would always be liked over him, that mufasa betrayed him, etc. which is why he backtracks and decides to fully turn antagonistic and get rid of mufasa for good without second guessing himself. all i'm saying is it would have been way less problematic if taka was vouched by mufasa to be king as all the events of the future would have been avoided and taka could have learned properly to be a better lion and grow as an individual
@@suttagi I think you're really underselling how much danger Taka put everyone in with his actions. Taka proved he cannot be trusted, he does not have the qualities to be a leader, and actually contemplating letting Mufasa drown was the icing on the cake. Taka just never had what it took to be a leader because he's an opportunistic, entitled coward.
@@DeadmanInc336 how much danger is an entire land of elephants, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, etc. who are well known for being capable of pulverizing 5 - 10 lions at once in danger from a pride of what, 20 - 30+ white lions? i am definitely underselling it because kiros's pride was barely a threat at all once mufasa and taka reached milele/pridelands. you can clearly see in the movie the animals wiped out kiros's entire pride in what, 3 minutes tops? i'd hardly call that a danger. so one mistake means you can never be trusted again for your entire life, even if you've made an effort to take back that mistake and redeem yourself and clearly show regret and remorse from it? yeah no, hardly anyone thinks like that and your logic is nonsensical. taka has acted on cowardly choices however he has also done selfless and brave choices throughout the movie, if he had been cowardly throughout the entire movie however i'd agree with you, which isn't the case though. you can't call someone a coward because they made one or two cowardly choices if they then change and grow and become brave. by the end of the movie taka is no longer a coward so again your claim is invalid and pointless. if you're talking about the time when taka ran away when eshe and mufasa were being attacked, again because of obasi taka literally has no fighting skills, of course he's going to run? it's not taka's fault at all. if an average person with no fighting skills were approached by two gang members who were experienced in fighting, what do you think the common sense choice would be? run in and get yourself killed? no, run. not to mention even if taka DID enter the fight, he'd literally only cause more problems. mufasa and eshe know that taka can't fight, he's been taught nothing, their focus would then be on constantly watching taka and trying to defend him which leaves themselves more vulnerable and open to attack because they'd have to be focusing more on protecting taka rather than themselves and pushing the attackers back. you really need to think more
There were always signs that Taka wouldn't be a good king. He never even trusted himself to talk to Sarabi without a script. He tried to eat Rafiki twice, just because he was annoyed at him, he didn't consider Sarabi her own person and blamed Mufasa for her choosing him! Mufasa tried to deny her but she's not an idiot. She figured it out herself and Mufasa had to admit the truth. Taka actually saw all that and still blamed Mufasa to the point of wanting to kill him? I get he's heartbroken and hurt but he consistently makes terrible decisions when he's experiencing emotions. That is partly Obasi's fault but Taka is now an adult and if he can't do better, he is not fit to be king.
Indeed. But apart from being a poor foster father, Obasi makes for a very poor king and actual father as well: a complacent, lazy, cheating and self-righteous hypocrite
A beautiful scene, makes me sad that they went form this to "Long live the king", and it kind of makes sense the way Mufasa came into Taka life was also the way he took him out of it.
*Taka did everything for Mufasa he shared his own family with him, but mufasa failed to do the same thing when he got everything* 💔🥹 taka lost everyone and his name. Very painful and humiliated. 🔥
I’m aware that Disney’s The Lion King was inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s Jungle Emperor (Kimba the White Lion) and that Tezuka is often called the Disney of Asia due to the strong historical ties between them. I believe Tezuka’s Astro Boy fits perfectly with Walt Disney Animation. In the future, after Tezuka’s copyright expires, I hope Disney produces a 3D classic Astro Boy animation based on the 1963 and 1980 series. Of course, we’ll need to keep an eye on any changes to copyright protection periods.
Actually no. The rumor of The Lion King being a Kimba knock off has been debunked. Yes, there was a series about Kimba in the 60's, but all the clips that have been heavily compared to the lion king are from the "Jungle Emperor Leo" Movie that came out AFTER the lion King movie. There is a whole essay on YT about that topic and it is wild ❤ Youvreally should check it out

He waits at the tree too
I know everyone’s going to hate me for it, but I have always been a fan of Scar and seeing how he was such a gentle, kind, loving cub just makes me love him more even if he did go evil.
When taka let mufasa win I felt goosebumps
Love this movie
Watching the movie in the theater I thought this scene is very beautiful
Thats real brotherhood💪🏽
Obasi failed his son. In more ways than one 😔
This is why mufasa protect Taka more than his life. Eshe is so wise mother. Two is better than one
Mufasa looks good from this scene ngl
honestly i don't see why people hate on taka so much, up until the mistake he made with siding with kiros taka was really heroic and compassionate. yes he had some flaws such as being cowardly at times however that doesn't make his good actions invalid and you can clearly see by the end of the movie he's grown and become braver when he jumps in to take the blow from kiros meant for mufasa and also helps mufasa fight kiros and push him back. using the excuse that taka was a coward so he wouldn't be a good king is unfair because a lot of people seem to forget taka literally has no valuable skills like fighting/hunting because of his father obasi, he was taught nothing while mufasa had the advantage of being taught by eshe. of course he's going to be scared and run in a fight, he has no idea how to defend himself. taka was just behind in his learning and if he was given a chance to learn and grow he would have become just as great as mufasa, taka clearly had the capacity to learn since again he already shows signs of becoming braver during the kiros fight.
imo mufasa should have stepped back and still set taka up as king while mufasa supported and guided him on the sidelines, with the help of mufasa, sarabi, rafiki, etc. taka would have grown to be a great king and taka would have never gone through with the plan of killing mufasa and overthrowing him because there would be no reason to anymore. it would have avoided so many problems
@@suttagi just one problem: the animals CHOSE Mufasa to be king and they would never accept Taka after what he did. You're also glossing over the fact that Taka literally contemplated letting Mufasa drown. That cannot go unnoticed.
@@DeadmanInc336 if mufasa vouched for taka though and voiced his support most of the animals would have at least given him chance to redeem himself and prove he could be a good king. i'd also like to add during the whole animal scene where they were praising mufasa for defeating kiros not once did he speak out and correct them that taka saved his life and kiros was only defeated with his brothers help (if taka had not jumped in to take that blow from kiros mufasa would absolutely be dead, kiros was aiming directly for his throat. mufasa also could not have backed kiros up and make him fall into the water alone, again he needed taka's help as a backup to push him back)
mufasa stays quiet on this fact during the scene and essentially takes the entire credit to himself of getting rid of kiros. if mufasa had actually spoken out and explained this the animals would have 100% seen taka in a better light and become more likely to give taka a chance. they essentially listen to whatever mufasa says, i'm sure with some talking mufasa could convince them.
you're right however while taka could have left mufasa to drown he didn't, he only contemplated it yet stayed strong and chose the right option in saving mufasa. taka has the capability of both evil and good, my whole point is if he was at least given a chance to lead as king and properly supported and guided by mufasa, sarabi, rafiki, etc. his better traits would have been nurtured until he grew and developed into a proper lion and a good king.
the reason he initially made the mistake of siding with kiros was because he believed no one really liked him and that he was always second best to mufasa as well as feeling slighted by mufasa when he accepted sarabi's love without discussing it with taka first (also just to clarify i don't blame sarabi in this she can 100% feel attraction to who she wants to, i'm moreso faulting mufasa for eventually giving in and accepting her advances instead of staying firm in respect for taka)
by mufasa accepting the title of king he only fed directly into taka's fears and made him believe his thoughts were true all along that mufasa would always be liked over him, that mufasa betrayed him, etc. which is why he backtracks and decides to fully turn antagonistic and get rid of mufasa for good without second guessing himself.
all i'm saying is it would have been way less problematic if taka was vouched by mufasa to be king as all the events of the future would have been avoided and taka could have learned properly to be a better lion and grow as an individual
I want to be like Queen Eshe!❤❤❤❤❤
0:26 Let the race begin
In reality, Obasi is right to reject Mufasa. A male lion would kill any cubs that were not his own.
Indeed. But apart from being a poor foster father, Obasi makes for a very poor king and actual father as well: a complacent, lazy, cheating and self-righteous hypocrite
Live and learn
I don’t think Takas growth made sense, him becoming a coward, it just doesn’t flow
The movie was incredible, please don't judge it before you even give it a chance
Ikr, people are so judgy even before seeing the movie.
@@thepowerfulwolfspirit.2581 i love TLK since 1994 and I will always love it
2:12 Cue the "I've Always Wanted a Brother" leitmotif!
Beautiful movie, beautiful story!! Come on familys
A beautiful scene, makes me sad that they went form this to "Long live the king", and it kind of makes sense the way Mufasa came into Taka life was also the way he took him out of it.
Finally another scene
Such a heartfelt movie! Loved this scene and how Eshe was a good mother to Mufasa! 🥹😍🥰☺️
Obasi is just like Kerchak.
Obasi sounds like a type of bad parent that will never win father of the year award
I’m getting Mufasa the lion king when it comes out on DVD ❤❤❤❤ it’s so beautiful
That's so nice of taka letting his brother win to live
2:12 Taka let Mufasa win to be brother.😢
His not a stray his my brothaaaaaaaa!
There is a whole essay on YT about that topic and it is wild ❤
Youvreally should check it out
Obasi is the reason scar sucks at being a king because he wasn't taught how to be a true king
Can't wait to see this movie tomorrow ❤❤❤❤❤
I so love that part there is so young. I want to take them home with me, but since it’s so awesome wow impressive
Don’t care about how evil Scar became its forever long live Mufasa and Scar
Beautiful movie
Great movie
I haven't seen the movie yet... Does Eshe accept and love Mufasa?
Yes
Yes. But Obasi feels nothing but hate for Mufasa simply for not being blood related. In fact, Obasi's demeanor, parenting style, and beliefs are part of what turned Scar to the dark side.
@@thomashuffman3237
Which is why I still think there should have been more scene of mufasa and Taka as cubs.
Like a scene of Obasi trying to plant seeds of doubt into Taka about Mufasa and stuff.
But no.
@@sweets_Cat88 as much as i liked the movie, you’re right. Over a third of the last movie had Simba as a cub, whereas here, only about a quarter of the film has them as cubs.
@ for me this orgin story isn’t as terrible as I thought it would was going to be.
But I count it as a separate from 1994 lore.
But I also feel the reason for Taka to turn bitter was kinda pathetic and petty.
I print would of preferred if the big villain on the story found away to manipulate and drive a wedge between Mufasa and Taka’s brotherly bond
And while Mufasa wants to make up for the misunderstanding Taka can not forget and decides to be called Scar to remind Mufasa and the hurt and betrayal he felt.
2:28 Cheater?! YOU cheated first by tripping Mufasa!
Taka accepted Mufasa, no questions asked. Eshe was reluctant @ 1st, but then heard Mufasa's tragic story & decided 2 take him in. Obasi, on the other hand, never cared about Mufasa.
I'm not a Kibeti, I'm a Mufasa 😂
Why Do I Have The Feeling That Obasi sounds a bit like Stolas from helluva boss
Obasi is what Kerchak woud've been if him and Nala never lost their son from Sabor. But Nala would still adopt Tarzan but with their child always wanted a brother 🥰

Kinda role reversal with who coddles Taka when he was a cub.
Most fandom has it where it’s Uru the one who coddles and spoils Taka while Ahadi is the no nonsense dad
Here..
Obasi is kinda the Uru
While Eshe isn’t one to coddle but tell the king off for trying to do
