    Thank you for this. It was a great tour. The best thing you said was, "organizing beads is hard." Validation! My bead room looks like a jewelry store exploded. Glad to know I'm not the only one who struggles to rein in he chaos.

    FANTASTIC IDEAS!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this. I too have a ton of jewelry supplies however, it's far from being organized. Now I can begin to organize it all. Just out of curiosity....how long have you had your wonderful supplies before you could get organized? :) Looks like I have a lot of sorting to do:) Again, thank you so much!!!!

    Nice work space. You've inspired me to change my sewing room to a jewelry making room instead of using the basement for jewelry and having my sewing room unused for years (except around Christmas time when I make PJ's for my friends)>

    I make 21" necklaces and matching bracelets. I store them on plastic rectangular covers. I layer the covers on top of each other. They take up very little space.

    Found some of those smaller ones at the dollarstore here and about 1.25 not too bad! Darice Bead Organizer 6.3" x 4.8"
    compared to those Darice is more I think on Amazon.ca is about 10.50... pretty expensive. But I love idea of being able to take out the individual containers rather than the whole bead thing....

    You just gave me an idea for my hand tools! I'm also an art welder and I will make a stand with holes or a rod for hanging them! Thank you for sharing!

    Thank you! So many of the other videos I've looked at were so totally anal and that's so not me! Yours was something I could relate to and gave me some ideas for a practical way to get things out of my living room and into the space in my bedroom I'm planning for a workspace.

    Thanks so much for this awesome tour! I am just starting to amass a collection and found your video when I was looking for ideas on how to keep everything organized. I already know that the wire in ziplock bags is going to save my life! I live in a really old apartment with crumbling walls and slanted floors so bookshelves and hanging things on the wall are not possible...so I use plastic file boxes from Staples. The ziplocks will fit in there perfectly! Your collection is beautiful.

    I don't know why but looking at this video seems like the kind of craft room I miss having. So comfortable and cozy. Now, I have upgraded mine with new table and desk and a bit more organized, I don't have that feeling anymore. I feel like I'm in an office and on the clock. I haven't created a thing.

  • @theconformed
    @theconformed 12 лет назад +1

    This is fantastic. I wish I had space like this for crafting. I am envious of the amount of supplies you're storing. I currently only have a fishing tackle box and a large weaved basket. I am looking for a way to organize a small amount of many varieties of chain. I was thinking about attaching some sort of hooks to a cork board and then using toilet paper rolls as spools

  • @theconformed
    @theconformed 11 лет назад +1

    I have moved since I left that comment and now have a room designated for crafting supplies along with a work desk. I still do not have the collection of beads that you do, but I'm getting there. I too have found an appreciation for shower hooks, very good way to color code bead strands.

    To prevent a cluttered appearance, I store everything away in a tall bureau adjacent to my work area. It only takes a few minutes at the beginning and end of a session to take things out or put them away.
    I also have asthma and many others do as well. I like to keep my products as dust-free as possible.

    @PattiBradford1122 12 лет назад +1

    I am in awe of how many beads you have - very envious! Your ideas for how to store things makes perfect sense to me, if I had the same setup available to me I could function quite well. Great video :0)

    How fantastic to take a tour of your work area. Geez, you have a lot of stuff. I'm going to show my husband this video so he'll stop saying I have too much stuff. I really don't, in comparison. Thanks for sharing. WWJ Bobbie from Miami ;-)

    I bet it's like your brain just in visual display. OMG it's like a dream playground. All I would need is some chocolate and some sweet tea and I could work all night. I think you might be my new hero. I can see I have something to shoot for, Thank you- Thom

  • @dianer8881
    @dianer8881 8 лет назад +2

    I make jewelry periodically and store everything away when it is not in use.
    I store beads in plastic ziploc jewelry bags. I then store the bags in Xmas boxes. I then store the Xmas boxes in stackable file boxes in the closet.
    The Xmas boxes act as a tray where I can view all my beads at once. To save space, I also layer one small box inside a larger box.
    This system is quick to review when I need to replenish my supply as well.

    you are a woman after my own heart. You are organized but not ocd about it nor do you use any particular system. You have a tremendous inventory - yes you could open a bead shoppe!! but wouldn't want to as you would lose your stash. I would like to be as organized as you but will just keep you in my heart as a great inspiration!! I buy beads, hoard beads ,sadly rarely make a gift of jewelry. so I continue to search for
    inspiration and wait for retirement (in 4 months). but that probably won't make a difference unless I have gotten started.
    anyway, thank you so much for sharing your storing ideas!

    Awesome ideas! I wish I had a whole room for crafting, but presently I'm using my dining room table with all my beads on top of the table. I LOVE your way so much better in that you display your beads and finished works by color. I can see how much easier it
    makes creating your designs. May I ask where you found the big rings of wire that were in your desk drawer? Thanks for sharing your smart ideas!!---Liz Wiseman

    You have given me great ideas to set up my studio and my other garage for my jewelry making. I also have a kiln I need to get started using for PMC, glass beads, and enameling, which I need to learn to do. Thank you for the inspiration to get organized after 20 years of collecting.

    I really enjoyed watching this video. It was so inspiring... I had never thought of setting up in a permanent place. I've had to get it all together whenever I wanted to work. We have an old desk in our computer room which is perfect. Now all I have to do is get my husband to agree to sharing his space. I'm excited!

    We hit it all up with a feather duster now and then, but dust happens! Most of my jewelry is LOSed so it receives a bath and even if it doesn't pieces will get a scrub either in the process or when completed.

    That sounds like a great idea. Small amounts of chain I usually keep in a plastic bag and punch a hole in it and hang it from a shower curtain hook and onto a nail. You see my fascination with shower curtain hooks though LOL.
