Just changed my smoke alarms the other day and did not see a dedicated breaker. Another DIYer could not find his breaker either but talked with an electrician who told him this. Look for a 15 amp breaker which does not have a GFI in the wiring. He also mentioned it was likely coming off of a bedroom and is not from an outlet. Started with the breakers to the bedrooms and on the 3rd try, success.

Nice job with finding the right breaker for smoke alarms. Lots of times they will be under a lighting circuit for lights. Is that where you found it? Mark it for later reference in case you ever forget.
