I live outside of Houston but commute out there daily. I hate the construction everywhere. The traffic is horrific. My number one advice is DO NOT ENGAGE INTO ROAD RAGE. A lot of these drivers are trigger happy and they drive loaded. Welcome to Texas.
I remember when Houston did not have a lot of traffic. You can get to the other side of Houston in 30 mins flat. The only traffic was going toward downtown during morning going to work and in the afternoon coming from work on freeways like southside 59 and 1-10 during peak work time 7-9 am and 4-6 pm. Now, traffic is everywhere no matter what time of day it is on all freeways. Also, not everyone here are not from Houston. A Texas license plate does not mean they are from Houston. In the last 5 or 6 years traffic has become terrible because so many people from different states are coming to Houston, Austin, and Dallas. I use to love the trees, open spaces, and big front & backyards. Now snakes and other critters will come out because they are building too many homes, building, etc.. They evading the critters space and they have no where to go. Go to Austin area if you want hills and mountains or Dallas for hills.
You're right about the traffic, I rarely meet anyone from Houston anymore and all the accidents are definitely due all the different driving styles. I've been here my entire life and have finally decided to leave... too much crime, too many people and the weather seems to be getting worse every year.
I was planning on moving to Houson from NYC as a single mom of an almost 2 year toddler. I never heard about the human trafficing issue in Texas. Now im really scared because its just me and my baby. Thanks for making me aware.
Thanks for watching. We recommend taking a few visits before you make the final move. Also try your best to build a village of people you can trust when you get here. Feel free to reach out anytime if you have more questions or concerns.
I am moving by myself. I understand where your coming from. I'm not sure if you go to church. If you do, find you a church family and I recommend visiting too if you can. I’m moving back to Houston. One thing I can assure you is that you will not be the only new person moving. The United States is having a big problem with Human Trafficking. We have to stay prayed up and we as Black people have to support each other and uplift one another.
nayvidss Don't believe that, the human trafficking is pretty much everywhere. I have been here all my life. From my understanding being in Chicago is way worst

I moved to Houston from the UK, the standard of driving is incredibly bad. Then I took my TX driving test, which was v]basically drive around the block without killing someone.
There are so many bugs girl but this place is the best!!! I just moved here and posted a video about moving here with a apartment tour! Everything is so beautiful here

Born & raised in Houston 5. Traffic - Facts/ Houston is the 4th largest city in the US and cars are our main source of transportation. Also, we have a lot of diversity in the city so everyone driving skills are different. You can also factor in what side of town you stay on. 4. Bugs - Ehh/ I can speak for other cities because I'm not from there but IMO the bugs aren't that bad maybe because I grew up here. However, in the summer the lizards are out in full effect, its like a gang of those things. I've never had a problem with snakes. I would see a grass snake here and there but nothing dangerous are venomous. Just make sure you're getting your home exterminated at least quarterly. 3. Land - Facts/ H-Town is all flat land. If you're moving to Texas & enjoy scenic views than Austin or San Antonio would probably be best for you. Now in regards to water inside the city you want see any water but if you go to suburban neighborhoods than you can live in wonderful communities off of the lake or man made water fronts. Kingwood & Humble provide homes off the water, also Cypress has a community surrounded by water that gives you the option of having a deck in your back yard. You just gotta do your research to figure in regards to your preference. 2. Hot Summers - BIG FACTS/ It's HOT! Get you a home with a pool or a neighborhood pool. 1. Amber Alerts - Facts/ They damn near go off daily but its informative & helpful.
Thanks for the information. I was planning on movie to Houston, but when you mentioned snakes and lizards that did it for me. May God continue to bless you and your family.
On the serous note regarding the amber alerts, unfortunately Houston has the highest human trafficking problems In the U.S. And it is crazy not enough awareness is done about it.

I only been in Houston for 4 months and I’m already trying to figure out how to disable the amber alert on my phone. 🤣🤣It’s crazy how often that alert comes in. It wasn’t like that when I was living in New York. The drivers here are very reckless when driving for real 😟
Went to Houston 2 weeks ago as soon as I got in my rental I started receiving Amber alerts. Then the roaches I saw in the hotel downtown whew chile….then the weather👀 I was like damn I didn’t know it get this cold down here. Thank God I don’t run into any traffic. I just subscribed ❤️

Some of us aren’t so lucky lol thanks for subscribing ❤️ - Jazz
@3:00 🤣🤣🤣I believe 70% of the people in the Houston and Dallas cannot drive. I'm a truck driver and I go to each city like once a month. People from up north drive much better because they have to deal with snow ❄.
It may not be a perfect place to live in, but that’s my home town. Even if there is a bunch of amber alerts an hot summers, and what not; It’s still home to me.
Hey you definitely right bout them bugs was in Saguin TX one yr.man the water bugs looked like mice.As for that heat lived in Lubbock TX man that 110-112 degree every day weather ain't no joke, but i'll be visiting Lubbock next month frm the 8th- 22nd
Baby girl at the end was adorable. She’s a natural! Thank you for the trafficking notice. Didn’t know that was an issue there. Looking forward to my transition there
The Amber alerts issue is very concerning. I've also heard Houston is a center for human trafficking (e.g. sex trade). Is human trafficking as bad as it sounds across most of Houston? Or is more like if you use common sense and don't look for trouble, it won't look for you?
Ahhh y’all trippin! Cmonnn going in on my hometown like this. Listen if people don’t move here bc they have concerns about bugs, traffic, amber alerts or lots of land that would be foolish. Plus from living in a handful of large cities I can tell you, you will experience a little bit of all this most places you go depending on where you stay and what season it is. Especially if you in a big city. But for me, my experience is different living in the loop. I don’t deal w/ traffic bc everything is right here where I need it! I don’t ever get on the freeway. Bugs? I mean…they in the grass lol Amber alerts…I mean it’s a random text at this point. The only reason w/ some weight that I would advise against is if you can’t handle heat or hate it then you will have a hard time BUT even still that is what the indoors is for. Climate is the toughest thing about living in the H. That’s it. Traffic is can be tough but that’s certain times a day that’s if you absolutely have to deal w/ the freeways. I don’t.
I moved to Texas from Chicago on December 1st, with all intentions on staying in Dallas. Dallas was Great! I stayed for 2 months. I loved it! However, I couldn’t obtain employment in my career field, so I applied to hospitals in surrounding cities in Texas and a hospital in Houston hired me. I moved here February 1st and immediately realized that it was a huge mistake!! I HATE IT! I’ve experienced lots of prejudice and racism, they make it clear that they do not want people with Illinois plates (car) here in Houston! I’ve never experienced anything like this before and I’m considering moving back to Chicago. Period.
Yeah everyone’s experience is different. We visited Dallas first and thought it was too slow lol. We’ve had the chance to get out more the last few months and every time we’ve gone out, it’s reinforced we made the right decision. We haven’t experienced overt racism here yet but honestly dealt with that more in Chicago. Very interesting to get other people’s perspectives. Thanks for sharing!
I'm from Chicago also Houston has a lot of racism especially from up North if they don't hear that Southern drawl if you're not from H-Town fifth Ward third Ward very very prejudice if you're black expected from Hispanics
Come to the south side we got u! U on the wrong side of town.. missouri city pearland sugarland galleria area westheimer even katy u would be good on the south ..plus trump got the yt ppl on the north side extra rowdy, dont get it twisted they heavy in dallas too u just got lucky up there
I have a question. I currently live in the DMV area on the East Coast. I’m trying to relocate my family to somewhere new and they want to move down south - Texas or GA. How is the racism down there? Have you both experienced anything crazy? I hate that I have to even ask this question, but it’s just the climate we, as Black people, live in. I’m terrified to move down South because of the history and our present experience in this country.
Your feelings are valid. It’s a crazy bold time right now with social justice issues and racism. We haven’t dealt with any overt racism here, not to say it doesn’t exist. Our community is really diverse. I will say that we were surprised (in a good way) at how many black people live in Houston. We try not to live in fear but we do tread very carefully with our whereabouts. Pray about it and step out on faith wherever you feel led 🙏🏽
Coming from West Palm Beach.. I love the houston police officer ...I have not met one ugly looking cop... My main complaint is the roaches and the water damage from the floods in these apartment complex and all the management do ...is pain over the damage ... I'm ready to go back to Florida due to the roaches I just can't do it ... This is the third apartment I have move in so far within a month it the same thing.. my skin breaks out when I see a roach and I can't stop itching I sprayed and still these things keep coming... I hate that ...this had turn out like this for me
Ugh sorry to hear it’s been such a pain with these roaches. Thankfully we were able to get it under control but that can be tough to keep controlled. in an apartment complex with different people and living styles. Hopefully it gets better soon now that it’s getting cooler.

Ok I'm from NYC and I move to Florida,in Florida, it's lizards, frogs, turtle, snakes, love bugs, big roaches,,I never seen it, until I move to Florida, I have to get use lizards to,
Yeah, I went out to Houston a few times for work and there is a lot of flat open land for miles! But Texas does have the best steaks! A lot of strip clubs, also! Lol!

Can you fumigate or hire a company to fumigate often for the bugs? Not sure what to do about the lizards or snake, but have you asked the Texans what they do about the bugs/snakes? Is traffic or drivers worse than CA?

@3:00 🤣🤣🤣I believe 70% of the people in the Houston and Dallas cannot drive. I'm a truck driver and I go to each city like once a month. People from up north drive much better because they have to deal with snow ❄.
Houston has aggressive drivers!! Only the strong make it somewhere on time lol!
Facts 😂
True so. True
Rude , haters
Or safely
It may not be a perfect place to live in, but that’s my home town. Even if there is a bunch of amber alerts an hot summers, and what not; It’s still home to me.
Sameee, i love the bugs and animals and all the land but the summer’s aren’t even that hot anymore but yea it’s y’all’s opinion so yh
It’s The South ffs… whaddo you expect?!?!?…
I couldn’t see myself living in any other place. ❤️Love it Mayne!!
Thank you for the great vid. Family is adorable 💕
Thank you!! Thanks for watching!
Girl after 10 years I left I’m never ever moving back
Hey you definitely right bout them bugs was in Saguin TX one yr.man the water bugs looked like mice.As for that heat lived in Lubbock TX man that 110-112 degree every day weather ain't no joke, but i'll be visiting Lubbock next month frm the 8th- 22nd
Oh wow, now that’s unbearable 😩 lol
@@HanginWithTheYoungs Yes it was but i'm giving it another shot lol
I am from Houston and that is one of the reasons I left Houston
Baby girl at the end was adorable. She’s a natural! Thank you for the trafficking notice. Didn’t know that was an issue there. Looking forward to my transition there
Thank you! She is! Wishing you the best on your move!
The Amber alerts issue is very concerning. I've also heard Houston is a center for human trafficking (e.g. sex trade). Is human trafficking as bad as it sounds across most of Houston? Or is more like if you use common sense and don't look for trouble, it won't look for you?
I like sparkling water
I leave in Dallas tx and it's boreding unless you have family and friends it can still be bored.
I don’t.
I guess it depends where you’re moving from. I’m coming from Mississippi. It’s definitely an upgrade. Houston is a vibe
Houston is a vibe! Check out our “5 reasons why you should move to Houston” video :)
@@HanginWithTheYoungs already did. I loved it 💜
When I visting my family, my first time seeing a roaster in the front yard of the house. I was scared of it.
Another awesome 👏🏽 video keep up the great work!
Thanks so much!! We really appreciate your support!
Thank you so much for this video ! Definitely not moving to Houston alone anymore 🤯
Your babies are ADORABLE 🥰 Love and happiness to you guys ❤ *hugs*
@@obeyyah3658 You are right! I’m up North near Cypress.
Come to the south side we got u! U on the wrong side of town.. missouri city pearland sugarland galleria area westheimer even katy u would be good on the south ..plus trump got the yt ppl on the north side extra rowdy, dont get it twisted they heavy in dallas too u just got lucky up there
You daughters are so pretty 💗 you guys are truly blessed and informative video
Thank you!
I'm trying to come and visit Houston, it's hot in Florida
@@HanginWithTheYoungs thank you so much for this.
It's racism everywhere. Whether overt or covert. Most blacks live down south .anyway. so we just mind our business
I'm in the DMV too, and very ready to go
Traffic is the same here in San Antonio and Austin. Strange people.
Best areas moving from Florida
#1 THE DRIVERS We just moved here from Miami and the drivers and the freeways are crazy, I thought Miami was bad. It's like I95×1000. I drive in are small town area but my hubby takes the wheel on the freeways. For the heat Krause Spring and Hamilton Pool look amazing definitely hitting it up this summer!!! Thanks for the advice y'all keep it real.
Moe from Miami
We love us some Miami! Thank you so much for watching. We are always down to meet and connect with new people like ourselves here in Houston. We gotta stick together lol.
Ok I’m from New York and strongly considering moving to Houston. Heat I can handle, traffic seems normal, BUT THEM BUGS?! I mean I’ve dealt with rats mice and roaches here but hmmph idk about giant roaches lol
😂 It’s a big adjustment for sure, but they come out out in seasons and if you prepare ahead, you should be fine. Come on down to Houston! 🤘🏾
The lizard in the house would make me go to a hotel. A snake? I’m moving out ASAP!
Your family is beautiful! Great video!
Thank you so much!
Love ya'll Young family✌🏾✌🏾
Thanks luv ❤️ appreciate you!
Love these videos and home looks awesome
Ok I'm from NYC and I move to Florida,in Florida, it's lizards, frogs, turtle, snakes, love bugs, big roaches,,I never seen it, until I move to Florida, I have to get use lizards to,
Yeah, I went out to Houston a few times for work and there is a lot of flat open land for miles! But Texas does have the best steaks! A lot of strip clubs, also! Lol!
Oh I get it yall from chicago....so can you all make a video about the 5 things you hated about where you came from? But I will wait til I see your 5 things u love about Houston....Although I will say the traffic😳 and rightfully so, because EVERYONE is moving here...Raised my sons in Katy, now in Kingwood...This is a good place to raise a family...With that being said....WELCOME TO TEXAS!💝
Thanks for the welcome! We agree, it’s a good place to raise a family. ❤️
Always try to drive by service or surface drive in houston which goes palrralel to high ways If you are highway haters
Yo, the amber alerts... DEADASS!!!!!!
Houston has a lot of Hwy fatalities, you exposing it good, so that ppl are not in a fantasy
Be safe out there
Can you fumigate or hire a company to fumigate often for the bugs? Not sure what to do about the lizards or snake, but have you asked the Texans what they do about the bugs/snakes? Is traffic or drivers worse than CA?
Yes, they do have companies for the bugs and snakes. I think Houston drivers got Cali drivers beat by a long shot lol. Thanks for watching.
@@HanginWithTheYoungs Well, hopefully, I will be able to keep up with the driving over there... I’ll be there visiting next week, checking for areas to relocate. I like the Woodlands area or anything closer to that area, any suggestions?
@@SCSC-qz7rr you’ll be fine :) Woodlands is nice and there’s lots of development there. If you’re looking close to Woodlands, that would be the northern part of Houston so Cypress, Humble, Atascocita, Katy would be good areas to check out. Best wishes on your trip here next week!
@@HanginWithTheYoungs thank you!👍
There just rude in Houston. If the people wasn’t so rude it won’t be so bad.
That’s crazy you made this video on my birthday and I was out there for four days. Been wanting to move there next summer, but said I may wanna check out Dallas again compare contrast.
Happy Belated birthday! Yes, we recommend you visit around as much as possible before you make your final decision. We wish you the absolute best!
Lol, lizards get in our house all the time too.. just make it real cold and they will leave.. as for the rattlesnakes what part of Houston are y'all in to have these? Those sounds could be crickets. But you may see gators which are chill and other snakes out there
Not sure if it was a rattlesnake but sure sounded like one. I know there are snakes tho. Don’t think it was crickets either bc it sounded a lil too aggressive lol 😩Haven’t seen the gators yet and don’t want to lol 🤚🏽
Lol seems like you are going have to put some boots on and go outside and investigate... Glad you all are enjoying Houston, can't wait to see more videos.
You’ll have to learn quick that no one is nice on the road here in Houston 😂. Got to force your way into a lane lol
Just true
Keep a few green plants in your home by the door, they will attract the lizards.
great video. can you compare Chicago and Houston ?
Thank you for watching! Yes we can do that. Is there anything in particular you want to know in the comparison?
@@HanginWithTheYoungs just the culture and the pace of life. Thank you by the way
If it wasn’t for Pot holes (cause clay ground) & oil refineries messing with the air quality air and water quality in the channel/bay

Those anoles are good bug eaters! They eat black widows, brown recluse and centipedes in your house.

Check out the video we just posted on 5 reasons why to move to Houston and let’s see if you still have the same energy 🤔 thanks for watching!
Yeah, Houston isn’t bad, it just what part u live in. Houston is beautiful place, from where I live in Houston we hardly have snacks, lizards, and it does get hot but what can we do? But yeah Houston can be a mess, but don’t stop yourself from coming and visiting. But I do respect their opinions, not everyone gonna like Houston.
I understand the traffic, but I don't see anything wrong with Houston drivers. Lol.
😅
