What is wrong with being biased? He's an announcer for the white sox why shouldn't he root for his team? I'm a lifelong yankees fan but I watch a lot of replays and hawk is one of a few announcers that really stood out because of his emotion and catch phrases.
SirGhostly there is a limit to how biased you should be like when west called a balk it was a balk yet he’s saying how he should take a break and even though it’s the right call

As a Dodgers fan I like Ken because of his enthusiasm and his home run call is just unique. Too many announcers these days are just too plain and that's why a lot of people think baseball is boring. But I got my friends to listen to Vin Scully and they were blown away by his stories and stats which really got them engaged into the game
The guy was absolutely something special. I listen to the ninth inning call of Buerhle's perfect game every now and then. It's like a shot of excitement and emotion and love for a team and it's players all wrapped in one, and he did it in as few words as possible and made every word mean something. Hawk was what a hometown announcer should be.
Whether you like Hawk or not, you can't doubt the fact that he does care about how the White Sox fare, win or lose. If he takes it personally, at least he's being honest about his feelings, even when he goes over the top.
I'm a Yankee fan, and Ken Singleton will say "He gone" like The Hawk a lot. But I love the Hawk. Especially with Buehrle's perfect game..."ALLLLEXXXXEEEEEEIIIIIII!!!"
I'm a Mets fan, but I have to say I like Hawk and really enjoy listening to him. He makes watching interesting, he tell stories, jokes etc. Just like our 3 man team of Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling. I really respect Hawk.

Never a dull moment when Hawk calls a game. His "You can put it on the board" is one of the most legendary catchphrases in baseball other than Niehaus' "grand salami time". Also one of the last old-school announcers left in the biz (Scully being the other of course).
@@Gwazi I do. Hawk is a moron who doesn't know the rule to the game and bashes umpire on any close call that goes against the Sox even when the umpires are correct. The best thing to ever happened to baseball was Hawk's retirement,

barber215 No reason why people should hate him. If I was a white sox fan Id love Hawk. Homers arent bad, people forget that is audience is predominantly white sox fans.
Braves fan here. Gotta be the best announcer ever. "HE GONNNNEE!!" My friends and I used to imitate his calls all the time and they always made us laugh. Hawk was truly one of a kind. I mean how could you not love that moment at 2:20. Almost brings a tear to my eye.
I remember being a kid and knew nothing of baseball. But I *LOVED* when The Hawk got excited like that! I would wait for a Sox homerun just to hear him say this!! Forever a legend!!
From this lifelong Houston Astros fan listening to Ken makes these calls is great. You can tell he loves his team and his job. Keep it up Mr Harrelson.
"You can put it on the board Mercy! Mercy!!" When Harry Kalas passed MLB network did a segment where other announcers paid respects and this is when I first discovered Hawk. In that first clip, I remember watching that game live. It was the opening game back in 2010 and his 2009 perfect game was still very fresh in our minds. Very exciting game to watch.
Nothing better than listening to The Hawk call a ball game with Steve Stone. I'll always remember watching the Buehrle perfect game live on TV and going just as crazy about it as they did. Great memories with Ken "The Hawk" Harrelson, an absolute legend.

He reached his final form with that 'you gotta be bleepin me' thing he started pulling in the 2010s. That is just incredible, to end a 9th inning hr call like that @3:48. So ridiculous, I love it.

He's one of those announcers that's absolutely horrible, that he's entertaining to listen to. He isn't good by any means whatsoever. But he's special. Oh, and no, I'm not a fan of the Cubs. Go Tigers! I'm not the hugest fan of our booth either. But if you want good commentators, my favorite ones are the Giants, Rays, and the Nationals. I also do like the Cubs booth, for the record, because while enthusiasm is a good thing, being a jackass isn't. I love Steve Stone, who I confess, I couldn't stand when he was calling games for the Cubs. We do have two great characters now. Harry was great in his day for you guys.

When Kerry Wood retired in 2012 Hawk went on a 5-10 minute rant about Kerry, his wife, kids, and his life and how much he respected him and the Cubs.
People just like to hate, but Hawk will be going into the HoF and i cant wait to see them bitch about it hahaha
1:45 I remember I actually did call all my friends and my dad to come watch the game with me after the 8th inning and I thought I had jinxed it at this moment. One of the best catches/plays in MLB history in my opinion considering the context
YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARRRRRRRRRD YEEEEEEEEESSS!!!!!
Have been raised a white sox fan. All I knew was whenever somebody hit a home run it was "You cannn put it on the boardddd!! Yesssss!!!" And "He gone" after strikeouts. My mom and grandma have never and will never go to Wrigley. That's how serious my family takes it.
It's hard to not have him in the booth I liked how be called it
Miss ya Hawk👋👋

I remember watching that LIVE
Im a die hard Cubs fan and I love Hawk Harrelson
I love Steve Stone, who I confess, I couldn't stand when he was calling games for the Cubs. We do have two great characters now. Harry was great in his day for you guys.
