Magic is a better game. Yu-Gi-Oh lake a resource system, which requires constant bannings to balance cool effects. Magic can test interesting effects on expensive cards, then lower the cost to "push" cards later. So, while there's definitely power creep in Magic, it's not nearly as bad as other games like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

technically the Divine attribute also saw use for the Nordic god cards during the synchro era
