- In this video I will show you how I got CC Zero Hour to run on my newly built PC with Windows 10 Pro OS. Hope this works for those who are having issues with the game.

Googling the file is kind of irritating, its buried amongst the layers if the interweb and there are lots of download traps. Here it is for your convenience. Don't forget to change the resolution to the size you need.

Mine doesn't look like this at all? it has some of the same options but with things like "BuildingOcclusion = yes"
didn't work for me, i tried deleting the data file to reboot the game, and created the option.ini file you shared, but i still get the same technical error message
WOW. Honestly, I love you man. I have tried EVERYTHING to get this to work and your solution was the only one that worked! (I think it was the windows 8 option that did it) but either way, thank you so much!!!
For those who are wondering, I did this on a fresh install from origin and followed the steps. It worked for me, I didn't do anything extra, just followed the instructions step by step

it worked. not completly without problems, but i can play the games apart from the challenges, but i never really liked them all that much. Thanks for the help

Hey, in my File Explorer, under Documents, I don't have a Command and Conquer Generals folder. The game did not ever make one (perhaps because it has not launched successfully?)
I can find the Command and Conquer Generals folder under my hard drive > Program Files (x64)>EA Games, but there is nothing in My Documents about it. Any idea what I should do?

hey lawthekid, got a wee issue here, i followed your steps and i got an error msg saying that i need direct x 8 or higher... ( i'm on dx 11 right now )

It did not work on my laptop or it is applicable only in pc? before, I can run the game but after I applied the setting and just followed the video and it must have higher version of Direct X, how can I fix it?

3 Open Generals and delete the dbghelp.dll file
4 Open Zero Hour and deleted the dbghelp.dll file
5 Make any changes necessary for your version/copy of the game
6 Run the game and hopefully it should work

Hey plz My general ZH was a Mod. it is just that it is zoomed out and more comfortable. Now it worked good just the world builder didn't work. when I had an window 8 and even with my window 10 it worked. Now I have downloaded the original for world builder and now both (general ZH with and without mods) aren't working. So I just deleted it and took it again with a USB with the game from my brother's computer and now it don't work anymore. I have the technical difficulties. I had that issue before and i forgot how i fixed it plz help the ini file didn't work

when i right click the exe file and select properties
i dont have the compatibilty tab???
first left click generals exe once and right click it again
When I run the game, it puts the game sideways and its almost impossible to play, I did this and it became the right resolution but its still sideways. If you know how fix pls reply.

Thanks! I GOT C&C ZH to run on my Win10 Laptop, but couldn't GET C&C Generals to run! Still wanted 'Adminsitrator' permission even tho I am running IN Administrator mode LOL!
I thought it MIGHT have been at 1st, due to my Acer laptop not having an integral optical drive, but I have an USB2 external plaugged in!
BUT it works with ZH so ext DVD drive is not the issue!

Does this work for CC Generals cracked by TheXsision? When I try to open both games (Generals and Generals Zero Hour), it doesn't launch. I open up the task manager and see no signs of the game running... There's supposed to be a game.dat in the task manager, right? Welp, in my computer, game.dat is not visible upon launching the game...

Hi this file " options.in"i u added before u first start a game or after?
Add the options.ini folder before you run the game.

You are lucky game works After I do all instructions then game loads I go to change resolution in game then I'm kicked out and serious error comes. the next time game don't even load any more and its serious error straight away.

Save the name as Options.ini and the file type as All Files

Its a fix to get the game to launch on a windows 10 system.
game just dumps strait out for me.
the annoying thing is, generals runs just fine, it's only zero hour that doesn't work.

Not sure what version of windows 10 you might have but this should work with version 1803. Try checking for a windows update?

I download the game from Origin and everytime i try to run it it show me error: Technical Difficulties Serious Errors can be caused by many things overheated hardware etc.. i try everything nothing works How to solve this!!!!

I have options.ini and the game works perfectly fine. Just when i suspend the game with alt and tab i get this error.. i want to hack this game with cheat engine but when i suspend it it quits
