Does adding cartridges affect the balance of a shotgun?

    For O/U, the shells are light compare to gun's weight and they are positioned very close to the weight center of the gun and between your hands. So even without test or calculation, we can conclude that they have very tiny impact on the balance of the gun. However, if you are a seasoned shooter, you can still feel the difference. It would not impact your shooting that much physically. If yes, that would be on the mental side.

    I think there may be a difference if the gun was balanced on a thin metal rod instead of a squidgy finger.

      @buckshotaaa Maybe so but we always hold the gun between our hands when shooting so as long as it only alters the balance a fraction, most probably wouldn't tell the difference.
