I agree with Karun and I am a Lewis fan. Lando supported Max throughout 2021 and squeezed Max on to the grass at Canada, he can't start crying now. Silverstone next and I hope it rains, the race is difficult and everyone has to get down and dirty dirty!

The British media are truly insufferable and here sky are yet again keeping the attention on this minor incident. Karun is one of the few talking a bit of sense and eluded to past drivers and incidents. One thing he forgot to mention was Lando pushing Max off at the start of Spain. Max put his wheels onto the grass to ensure they didn't collide....
Thats what Max does practically every race start.

lol the one I remember was when Hamilton and Rosberg came together in the same place. I’m surprised the commentators didn’t bring that up more, that 2016 season makes Verstappen and Norris battle seem friendly in comparison.

Hard racing has been part of F1 for decades. 2021 is regarded as the best season of F1 in the modern era, and Lewis and rosberg as well. Both those years wouldn't be remembered for what they are if the drivers didn't race each other so hard.

Hamilton vs Rosberg... all great competitions for WDC and driven clean without the need for rule changes for one drivers particular style. IT all depends on what your definition of hard racing is... for real fans its not punting people off the track or refusing to yeild. Your obviously lacking in knowledge of this sport if 20' and 21' is all you can cite as good seasons.

The greats win titles. Max has yet to win a legal championship. FIA admitted 2021 was down to human error and everything since has been achieved through cheating and breaching the cost cap.
Difference is, FIA were unforgiving back then.
Look at Senna/Prost 1990 Japan. Senna got disqualified from the championship for racing like that. Same for Schumacaer and Villenueve.
You can't just say "I'm going to win or crash into you", in the past the punishment was real.
Look at the Chinese Sprint earlier this year, Alonso made slight contact with Sainz (which didnt damage Sainz' car but did cause Alonso to DNF), Alonso after that incident got 3 penalty points. For causing a collision (which only ruined his own race) in a Sprint Race fight for P4. In Austria, Max got 2 penalty points for causing a collision (which ruined both his race, but more significantly Lando's) in a full Grand Prix fight for the victory. Not to mention the numerous times before that where Max can be quite easily spotted moving under braking.
I'm all for hard racing and Lando v Max has been amazing so far, but the moving under braking rule was specifically brought in bcs Max was causing incidents by doing so. All it takes is a little more consistency from the FIA in how they punish or regulate these incidents, and there would be no issue. Hopefully they can both race hard but fair till the end from this point onwards! 🔥

Everyone needs to calm down - As Ross Brawn said "It's great for the sport". Exactly! it was fantastic to see them racing. Peter Windsor's take on the whole incident is the best.
Finally someone speaking some facts
Was Fangio a dirty racer, was Prost, was Moss, or Stewart or Lauda? Schumaker parked his car across the Monaco track when he had the fastest lap, not really a racing achievement.
Not all the greats, stop glorifying it.

The stewards’ verdict read:
“Car 1 [Verstappen] was approaching Turn 3 with Car 4 [Norris] alongside on his left. Before turning in, the driver of Car 1 moved to the left, causing a collision with Car 4. The Stewards determine that the driver of Car 1 was predominantly at fault and therefore impose the above mentioned penalty in line with precedents.”
Max received two points on his super license, along with the 10 second time penalty, which is reasonable and puts an end to the matter, as far as punishment. Not being able to take responsibility is the only outstanding issue. What type of man can't take responsibility for his actions? If the decision was wrong, then why wouldn't you challenge it? A person of substance would not allow injustice to stand.

Brawn is right, Lando needs to adapt to this new way of hard racing. Keep the emotions a bit more in check. You could tell he was very frustrated at the time but in hindsight he wouldve done it differently because there was enough time to make the perfect move on Max.
Yeah, he should have done exactly what Verstappen and Perez did with Sainz in 2023. I think after his first couple of attempts failed, he decided to just try and contrive a situation where he could complain and get a penalty for Verstappen instead.

The difference between the 2, is that Max don't need much time to pass you on track. Norris needs way too much time trying to pass. You saw that in Austria.

Schumacher as a comparison to Max - Schumacher ranks among the biggest cheats in F1 history. Max pushes the rules to the limit and that's good. But then he goes beyond and does not get penalised. I don't blame Max, I blame the stewards. Otherwise what is the point of having rules?

Max applied his intimidation tactics and Lando didn’t budge. If I was Lando I would still hold position to let Max know about the risks he would be taking by playing this game, knowing he’s the one with more to loose. Lando won’t catch Max by staying behind anyway.
He will think twice next time. Max gained 10 points in standings finishing 5th. Norris got zero.

Max is very VERY good and he has the x factor... he has no fear and makes other drivers doubt themselves before trying to overtake him. THAT'S the goal... calculated risk, he got the penalty, lost a few points but came out on top. Could've gone the other way, DNF and Lando could've won... bet we wouldn't be hearing so much crying if that had happened. Just like we didn't hear a peep after the HAM incident...

Never in my life have I thought I would agree with Karun, he has such weird outtakes sometimes.
But in this one he's very balanced in his words, this is the way max races! Is it fair? Probably a bit too "muscled" I would agree, but I'm sorry we are talking about a 3 time world champion that's fighting to not lose the lead of a race. He will put his elbows out as much as he can.
Norris learned a lesson that day, and if he's smart he'll start thinking of ways to overtake max without getting into the elbows out region.
Norris was the only one with something to lose, he had a black and white flag already so he was on the verge of a penalty. He should've brought the fight to max just enough where FIA would definitely had to give a penalty to max for moving under braking or going wide like he did.
I'm a max fan, but I'm also a Norris fan. I loved the fight, too bad for the ending.
I like seeing max challenged and I like to see how other drivers bring that challenge to him.
At the end of the day NO DRIVER ON THE GRID WILL HAPPILY GIVE FIRST PLACE EASILY.
Norris already knew he will get a penalty, because he went off in T1 on lap 63, which was his 5th offence. The touched on lap 64.
Chandhok : max broke the rules, but he always breaks the rules so that's okay.

Max has made a career out of these moves because it's not been dealt with properly, rules were brought in because of his dangerous moves and despite that, they're still largely punished insufficiently

Sainz-Max 2023, Sainz went left much further but Max went all the way onto the curbs to avoid contact. So no crash and Max even crossed back and gained a position.

This shunt would have never happened if the FIA had handed out Lando's track limits penalty in a reasonable timeframe. If Max had known Lando received a 5 second penalty, it would have been possible to let him go through and use DRS to hang on his bumper and pressure him to the finish line. That said, Peter Windsor is on record saying, Max did not make any erratic steering inputs under braking in that corner and any car movement could only be explained by the Red Bull's scrub mediums lack of grip.

I just hope that the Brits stop encouraging other dumb drivers (ie Lando) to do stupid stuff like Hamilton did at Cops 2021. It’s pathetic this small racing bump is still talked about. It shows how boring F1 has become. Some drivers do not like competition and will make questionable moves and some drivers are willing to give it a go and liven things up. It’s history, move on. Hopefully for all you F1 fans Silverstone will be lively with mixed weather.

Every interview I've seen from Lando is him trying to exploit some sort of victim complex, trying to garner sympathy, wheras Max gives complete champion answers. Max will dominate on Sunday.
