Aaron sahlman deserves more appreciation. Np has 2 moves a huge surge around 2k. That drops the kids that went out too hard. And then at 2.2 miles. Aaron is at the front of both of those surges . He pushes when it gets hard and sacrifice his race for the better kickers on his team to consistently go 1-2-3. Much props
AND, he's only in tenth grade!
@@iguillo I think he’s in 11th grade actually
@@sambrasler6297 I stand corrected. Still pretty impressive considering the Young brothers are also juniors.
@@iguillo absolutely! Wouldn’t be surprised at all if one of them ran sub 14:00 next xc season
@@sambrasler6297 several of them ran sub 14 at Woodbridge
NAU will be renamed to Newbury Arizona University
😂
This is why every the other college SHOULD GO HARD to get the coach, the twins and AS
Shout outs to Zane! Insane that he was able to hold onto them untill the last 250.. he didn't even get dropped at all either. What a beast
the way their top 7 all went sub 15 is INSANEEE
Their literally THE GOATS of high school xc
I love how Colin is joining Nico at NAU.
My biggest hope is that the Young twins and Aaron join them at NAU when they graduate HS 😭 they could make history again
College track is a different beast now
They won’t all go to NAU. But I’m sure a couple will.
The last mile of this race was very fast. Mile two had the most hills and curves. The last half mile of this race is a gradual downhill into the finish so it makes it an incredible ending.
Just saying, some people would get a 800 PR if they went out with them
yall, if they join NAU, they legit could win an XC title, indoor title, AND an outdoor track title all in the same school year...
Simply the greatest HS race of all time
Really wish more of the Eastbay guys attended Runninglane instead. Gavin Sherry, Tryone Gorze, Puffer, etc. Also whats up with Larry Josh Edwards and Rheinhardt Harrison doing neither? Feel bad for Sam Rich.
yeah for real, where has rheinhardt been
Maybe helped that they weren't in the shadow of NP - after all best rated runner in the country came 5th at RL.
Great video and great analysis of a fantastic once in a lifetime race! I am wondering if someone has or could perhaps make a video of the Young and Salmaan families (maybe 2 videos, 1 for each family). Would be interesting to see their athletic heritage and where it comes from, what drives the boys to running excellence and get to hear what their parents, siblings, family members and close friends have to say. Just some thoughts. Keep up the great work. 👏😎👍
Really good content!
Coach wanted 4:25 the first mile? He must be some crazy insane genius 🤣🤣🤣
Going to be insane to see what these guys do next year. 3 of their top 4 runners coming back. Do you think the 2022 team will be the best team ever after its all said and done?
Also when they do the 4x1600 newberry park will have to sets of brothers on the relay team.
Has that course been certified yet? Some teams that attended Prd by over a minute for this race after having PRs on a similar course and winning a state title.
I’ve ran this course, it’s definitely not short. I’ve raced it 3 times and it’s abt 10 secs away from being my pr course. It’s just a really fast course because of how maintained and semi-flat it is.
Nice content. Thanks.
He keeps getting the Sahlmans mixed up
which is funny considering there are identical twins on the team HA
@rhein Harrison from Florida . Lowkey would have gotten top 5. Prob even top 3. Sadly dude decided to not run the national race. Idk why
Probably injured, lacking confidence in his fitness, or both. Just my two cents. Hope he gets into some fast meets with Newbury Park in the indoor and/or outdoor track season.
@@TmT672 everyone in Florida is confused and is wondering why he didn’t run the national race, I think if he was injured they definitely would have said something cause even the mile split Florida account said “he should have ran”. And dude won all his races in trainers easily running 14s and they claimed it was his tempo pace so I don’t think he would lack confidence. I think dude started track early and is gonna run some college races or something since college preseason track already started. Only explanation I can come up with since he’s like 2 seconds from a 3min mile
I have zero doubt that Rheinhardt just wanted to keep his undefeated record intact. His PR 5k time isn't even close to what the NP guys ran in Alabama (yes, i realize there are a lot of factors that play into that, but for now that's all we have to compare). There is very little chance he would have beat Colin, Leo or Lex, although a top 5 is feasible. Still, a loss is a loss, and he wanted no part of it.
@@schpood he ran like 14:40 in Florida with trainers on no spikes and his coach said he can run 14:20s when he tries And everyone got huge prs. Like everyone pr by like 20 seconds. I have no doubt he would have been sub 14:08 at least sub 14:10. He prob would have loss. Prob would have won tbh but either way dude should have just ran. Especially since Florida has never had a runner as fast as him in history Like man just do it for the history😭💔 who cares about a dang undefeated record💀 mans is already committed to Oregon. Running at nationals wouldn’t have changed a thing for him😭 who knows the next time when Florida will have a runner that can be top 5 or 10 in the nation. We already know cali is gonna have 3 next year😔🥴
great race, but you should probably check yourself! those comparisons are really reaching
Why do you have the inset of you talking? We don't have to look at you to listen. Loose the inset. We want to see the runners.
milesplit did absolutely horrible with this video coverage. Like, we can crap on runnerspace all we want but its a lot betetr than this
Why are these kids so popular what did they accomplish this season? I am literally just asking I am not hating. I genuinely don’t know what they did I haven’t heard of them. I run Xc as well so I’m curious
I go to Newbury Park and they were 2019 state and national champs and this year they were also state and national champs but in the process destroyed both course records
