    Great video Matt, thank you!
    Couple questions for ya....
    #1 Wouldn't it be good to put the coating on the threads of the valve stem, and inside the valve stem cap threads too? That way, the moisture in the air won't try to attack the metals and cause Galvanic corrosion. On mine, I put 3M silicone paste on my TPMS threads and inside the cap. But I certainly understand why some folks would cringe at the thought of silicone near the surfaces you're trying to coat and protect. But regardless, those threads don't like to be dry and 'nekkid'.
    #2 The noise that tire holder/fixture made as you rotated the tire was like a worn out broken roulette wheel. Never on any of your videos has a noise annoyed me as much as this one. Frankly, as obsessed as you are, I'm surprised you'd tolerate that. To be honest, that's a pretty simple machine. Wouldn't take much to build one that's MUCH quieter. Not to mention, the amount of wobble that center shaft had would bug me as well. Can't stand to "fight" something as much as this seemed to be moving around as in this video. Maybe I like a more stable "operating table", but I guess we all have our "buttons".
    #3 Since these were put away 'dirty', I was surprised you didn't do a decontamination to remove all the brake dust and environmental fallout. At the least, an iron removal step.
    #4 Lastly (Maybe should have been firstly) - Since these wheels have been stored so long, I might have removed the weights, had the wheel/tire package "Road Force Balanced", THEN do everything you did. Because if after all the work you've done, you discover a vibration on your first drive. Now, you've got to take off four wheels/tires, take them to have balanced, then clean up the spots where they've touched and the spots under the old weights you didn't clean/coat on the first step. That's another entire day.
    Any way... Sorry if I'm being nit-picky. Rock on man. Love the videos!

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  3 дня назад +1

      1: I never really thought about that, but...I'm in FL, so we don't have any salt on the roads to contend with corrosion issues.
      2: I'm likely going to make my own version at some point with better bearings.
      3: These were on a car with Carbon Ceramics. I had them from new and they were coated previously. Iron has never been an issue for me where I live and the conditions the car has seen. I find that step only necessary for a car that is new to me.
      4: My machines are in storage. I know these are balanced well since they were on my car previously. Sitting is storage wouldn't affect the performance.

  • @samcas707
    @samcas707 10 дней назад

    I applaud the effort and hang, but I’ve found ceramic coating on satin/matte clear wheels just don’t work. My wife’s Grecale trofeo has a textured satin wheel and the coating lasted a couple months - the coating on the diamond cut gloss face is fine, but the satin spokes no beuno. I tried the tarminator on side walls, that worked so well, better than xenit I was using, but it’s tough to get these aerosol products here in Australia

    • @ObsessedGarage

      Some finishes seem to reject it. I noticed the same thing on the TEs on the Raptor. Coating seem to last a month. On these, it works great.
