Hari Bol! Very good Khichadi. I made it home today. I tested Khichadi at Ayodhya. Every time, I visit Ayodhya, I stay at Gujrati Dharmashala. They prepare Khichadi for all Sadhus and visitors staying there. I also don't forget to donate money for their good work.
In south, we call it as Pongal (sweet, during Sankranti n plain as an all time breakfast), with ratio 4 cups rice n 1cup moong dhaal.. For sweet Pongal add jagery n season with ghee,cashews, cardamom, for breakfast season with pepper, jeera, each 1.5tspns n ginger,cashew, curry leaves, asaphoedita.. Serve with chutney, sambar, in hotels, we get with vada.. Very famous dish
This is Bengali style khichdi, in which we use moong dal bhaja and rice in equal quantity, at last bhaja mosla and ghee. We use all kinds of veggies.Shri shri Prabhupada was a bengali.Atob chal or gobindo bhog rice is used for enhanced fragrance. In durga puja also this khichdi is made for bhog.
This is my favorite dish to have as a prasad or at home. I use to cook different way but your way of preparation is very nice and innovative also it seems will be very tasty.
