Law and religion should always be separated, period.
The forefathers of the United States created the constitution with the belief that humans have certain inalienable rights given by God. That's us why they haven't been taken away, because the majority of people still hold these truths.

Holding to that affirmation is the perfect excuse to keep the current discourses that benefits this people's interests strong, is a way to show their status on the government.
So, even if they believe that's the actual case, then just for the sake of the equilibrium of the socio-political environment this should hardly be reconsidered, but, since they can show off who's running the show, they simply won't, so that's why opposition is always important. You cannot let ANY extreme keep their weights too heavy, specially when you can see this is already seriously affecting other vulnerable groups in the same communities, it's just not healthy in general.

A figurehead can represent a lot of deeply held beliefs and shared values. Satan for example being individuality, reason, freedom, self-knowledge and self-empowerment to name a few. We all believe in the symbolism, whether we believe in a literal diety does not invalidate the religion simply because you can’t understand the concept.

This is still relevant 5 years later and I think it always will be until people truly want to understand and respect what the 1st Amendment is really all about. What gets me is how the Christians claim to want “religious freedom” and are angry against “religious persecution”, but look at prosecute any religion or non-religion that is not their own.
I don’t worship Satan but I really could care less if you do. Religion isn’t important in this regard; what’s important is wether or not we are actually doing right by one another.

Actually, I was told that until not long ago Norway was one of the European states with the strongest ties between church and state, to the point that the king was the head of the church, like in England. Though I guess the most church-free state of all times was the Kingdom of Italy in its first decades, where all members of parliament and government were automatically excommunicated by the Catholic church.

Hey team at Vice, I have a serious question. First of all, I'm a huge fan and try to choose Vice over other info outlets - you all are doing great!
In the second minute of this video, it's said that this group does not believe in a "physical" Satan. I wish you would have provided us with a deep dive on what that actually means, and whether or not they believe in other versions of that entity.
they are non-theistic so they do not believe in any sort of higher power or god/fiction, they are largly about civil rights and religious freedom as well as fair and equal access of religions to public spaces, they have many many campaigns and legal fights in action now to help people and defend the constitution.
From my experience with Church, they're more often then not a-religious people who use the symbols of satan and his cohort as a rebellion against god. Since they fundamentally believe in the earthly matters more then faith.
