@Thumb Print I dunno what posh and noble places you've lived, but my last two towns spent more on on parking lot security, fund raising advertisements, and street banners than they did fixing any of the things that needed work. Last place had one major road through town, in the 7 years I was there they started construction to fix about 100 yards during my last six months. They gave up and left metal plates on the road to cover their holes and I never saw that strech of road finished. Meanwhile the police, who spend most of their time sitting in places they can sleep in peace, got a bunch of new cars.
