Good tutorial. Well documented.
I've repaired one equal, but instead of replace the power jack (I didn't had this), I put a small cable welded into the pcb power jack contacts, with a male power jack on the other side to connect to power supply.
But this way, like you showing is more perfect, and only in 30 minutes. Great job.

+Erik Lopez FLUX pen is a liquid that FLOWS the tin or 60/40, Yes you need flux to desolder easy without overheating the PC board. and a rule of thumb no more then 2 seconds on same spot :) flux pens are 10 bucks or so.... I have gallons of liquid flux.... spray it over your desolder wick so it absorbs easy. and u want a little solder on the iron.... I KNOW your not sposto put solder to the iron, BUT this gives best thermal conduction to the wick :P
