      @JessHandmadeDesigns  3 месяца назад +2

      @@adgurl01 Blessings, to be honest I really don’t count my stitches at the end of my rounds. I don’t do that because when I was a beginner crocheter that used to frustrate me when I was missing a stitch or two and I use to do it all over again. And in my older videos I use to get tons of emails saying they were missing stitches. So I stop doing the counting after each rounds. I just read what I have in my notebook and record just to share. I will try my best to upload the written pattern online when I can that will have the stitch count at the end of each rounds thanks to my pattern testers. Happy crafting!

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  Месяц назад

      @jamalwalker8214 blessings you can add a like 3 more rounds of single crochet inside your hat. My latest tutorial has a drawstring in that. You can chain up the same and insert your drawstring at the last double crochet round you made. But if you just add a few more single crochet rounds inside your hat, you'll be fine.

    heyy! please explain just a little bit on how to do the drawstring method instead of elastic?

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  7 месяцев назад

      I've used drawstrings for for hats as well go to this video ruclips.net/video/opHo_OPx9wE/видео.htmlsi=GBdZ1Ii9k35rHqK5 and forward to the 25:43 mark. It will show you how to make and weave in a drawstring. To add the drawstring on the ruffle hat...insert it in the last double crochet round (round 10) to be honest if you do the 2 rounds of single crochet you won't need the drawstring. The elastic just helps with stretching overtime.

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  4 месяца назад

      The ruffle hat will come together after the elastic is put in. Also your tension matters as well…. I would need to see your hat to see what round you are on to see how we can troubleshoot. Email me jesshandmadedesigns@gmail.com

    Hi Jess, how do you weave in the ends? Do you crochet them back in?

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  3 месяца назад +1

      @@daniellealexus blessings you can just as long you can’t see them in the front and don’t go in the same direction so it would be hard for it to unravel. If you go to my beginner how to crochet you see how I weave ends.

      @@JessHandmadeDesigns Also, last question. How would I do that if I wanted the ruffles to be a different color? Thank you for the quick response!

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  3 месяца назад +1

      @daniellealexus there’s many ways to do that…you can carry your yarn as you go if it’s two colors you are changing it from…..or cut and weave ends at the end lol that would require more patience lol . Most people up a multicolor yarn to skip that process and weave a few ends.

      Blessings, you should have about 66 stitches before you start the ruffles.....I really don't count my stitches. I use a hat measuring guide. The link is in the description box. If you have 60-66 stitches, that is fine because you will be bringing in the hat when you start the single crochets inside the hat ❤

When watch the video and I do my last increase round check to see if the circle is the size you need it. My head big 😭can I add extra rows before the ruffles? & would I do the same increase as row 11 for the added rows

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  7 месяцев назад

      Add another increase round after Round 6 so your Round 7 will be ch2, 2dc inside that same stitch, * 1 dc in each of the next 5 stitches, 2dc in the 6th stitch,* *Repeat all the way around and join* and then continue on with the rest of the video. Happy Crocheting ❤

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  7 месяцев назад +1

      Also keep in mind this is like making a regular beanie, but instead doing the whole beanie pattern we stop a couple of rows beforehand so we can do the ruffles. The added crochet rounds inside the hat can give you the fit around your head so it won't fill like it's loose.... so you can add more rounds to that and try it out. ❤ hope this helps as well❤
