I guarantee it was 9000 we used to race the 2300 fords they turn 9000 all day long actually 9600 to be exact. Our cam literally didn’t smooth out til 5800-6000rpm back in the day we ran a 2.3 SOHC ford with a ported esslinger head a forged Toyota 22RE crankshaft woth counterweights cut off 5.7in sbc Manley Hbeam rods titanium ferrea valves Offenhauser 4bbl intake a 600cfm Barry grant mech secondary 4bbl Wiseco pistons etc ot would turn 9600 at the top of the straights And pull down to around 8400rpm in tue banked turns flat on the floor all the way around the track.
That’s pretty cool for us we are stuck at 7200 RPM as our limit. Some of the other drivers disable the rev limiter so it’s very easy to find out who is cheating
Dang that's sick! I'm looking to start racing up at my local track and I want to start out with the 4 cylinders. This is exactly the engine/car setup I'm looking for, could you please give me the specs of the engine? Like the make, mods, ETC. And what type of cam you are running in that? That's a mean machine you got there man!
If you want to start out you don't need to start out in kmsa or super pony what've ever it is bad idea lot of power you will end up hurt you need start out in a stock 4 cylinder class like a buzz/hornets to get seat time can't start out fast man
@@bradenwoods4434did you start racing and I started out in a ministock like in video same motor rules as the kmsa except we had to run mustang pinto or Corolla appearing bodies which we just made out self or bought from five star or ar racing bodies. My motor was the 2.3 Ford stroked out turning 12k rpms we was reving it to but it was a stroker motor and it was my first ever racecar and I raced it at age of 11 with no racing experience before besides driving my mom's ministock a few times at the track in Canada we owned after the races.
I won a championship with that first year racing when I was 9 on asphalt first race no practice lapped the whole field and won and got the championship and rookie if year then moved up to the rear wheel drive mini stock class. With a monster 2.e stroked to a 3.0
My circle track asphalt one I raced at 12k rpms with a stroked out 2.3 to 3.0 bad ass motor I had in mine. And i was 11 when i raced it back in 2003 on asphalt at a track called sunny south raceway i ran it for three years till i showed up the 4th season and was the only car to show up and that was it for that class and they let me race with the fwd pure stock class but jad to start 5 laps fown and in the back and worked ny way up to lapping the whole field 3 times lol but I didn't take the trophy or anything cause it was just so i could race it one last time. I miss that mustang
David Collins it’s on a foxbody mustang frame most likely all the foxbody bodies have just about been used and it’s might be running a 2.3 mustang motor
I ran open rules as well in my asphalt mustang mini stock only rule was had to be rear wheel drive 4 cylinder and max size was 3.0 I had a massive 2.3 to 3.0 stroker running 12 grand on asphalt at race speed all day and held up for 5 years my first race in it I was 10 and this was in 2004 on a small 1/4 mile paved track they are fast and torque lots of it
mmsa is better kmsa is a joke mmsa is the best of the best drivers they are , I've seen mmsa cars with way less motor run with them junkie ass kmsa cars that don't handle wanna see a race come to the world finals at Lowes dirt track and watch the monster mini stock accoation prolly over 80 entry's October 20-22
