    WOW! Well done Carrie for making such good films of Afghanistan. My impression of Afghanistan, via Western Media, has been of a country ravaged by war and having absolutely no wealth whatsoever. You have just blown that impression completely out of the water and I thank you so much for that. I honestly thought what appeared on your videos must be of another country but when I checked Terejan International Hotel on Google, it verified it was in Herat. I agree with you that if the Taliban introduced and treated women on an equal basis on every level and every aspect of life, Afghanistan would have so much to offer and be enriched in every way. Your videos will definitely whet the appetite of many travellers and people who are curious about Afghanistan. What a beautiful looking country and so glad to see so much beauty, peace and friendliness. Keep up the good work and thank you also to all the Afghanistans for letting us see their country from a much better and positive perspective. Finally, top marks to the gardeners too in Afghanistan. It certainly beats the UK on so many levels.

    I think it's great that you've come here to show a side of a country most people would have no idea about. I hear your point about how some things could be improved for women, but given that Afghanistan has had continuous wars and instability for the past 40+ years. I think it's a good start that Afghans are finally enjoying stability and it is safe for tourists like you.

    • @carriepatsalis
      @carriepatsalis  7 месяцев назад +2

      I agree with you .. 40 years of war (longer if you go back in time) is no joke.. and I could feel stability in the air which was awesome.. just hope they don’t lose out on a generation of learning in the meantime.. the energy taken to close the school doors and police keeping kids away from learning is mis-spent.

I thought all this was against the Taliban's ethos? Or is Carrie only going to places that the Taliban want the West to see? What about all the stories we hear about the abuse of women - not allowed education or going to work?

      If "Sister" become Afghani she'll never see light of the day or walk around in freedom! So it's best that she plays the superficial tourist and escape the harsh and inhuman realities that women there are suffering everyday.

      Well, it is your brain that lives in the dark ages. You seem to agree that women should live a sub-human existence without any of the human rights that she deserves! I am merely stating the obvious. May light enter your head and you see the reality of today than succumb to obsolete, barbaric doctorine. Women have equal rights to men in every way. Simple as that.

    Dear Carrie, it’s heartwarming to see your courage to explore Afghanistan, a country so beautiful and yet suffered so much for decades due to endless wars. Herat appears to be a peaceful city and the people seem very hospitable. I couldn’t agree with you more when you say that Afghanistan will leap miles ahead if it provided equal rights, opportunities and freedom to women as well as men in every sphere of life. Hopefully one day. The country received so much bad press and it is through vlogs like yours where the positive aspects of this beautiful country can be seen by the world. Hope your abaya didn’t make you trip at any stage 😅 It’s absolutely heartwarming to see you try one out 🤗

Herat is indeed a treasure trove of rich culture and history, filled with beautiful architecture, art, and traditions that have shaped our identity for centuries. I appreciate how she captured the essence of our city’s unique blend of ancient and modern life. It is always heartwarming to see outsiders appreciate the depth of Herat’s heritage. Thank you for sharing your journey, Carrie. I hope more people get the chance to experience the magic of Herat! Best regards Abdul Mansour Kohdamany

    Absolutely beautiful place. Just proves that the people of Afghanistan aspire for the same dreams and aspirations as people the world over.
    They have made a lot of progress in a short space of time.
    Incredibly clean streets, friendly people.
    Never ever thought I would consider visiting Afghanistan. This has completely changed my mind.
    I wonder if there are separate places for women only that are run by women and it’s mainly women who know where they are. After all women like their pampering and will find a way😊

    • @carriepatsalis

      Honestly I think it could be an exciting place soon.. it’s changing.. I saw seeds of change that were lovely .. they need to shift on hardline ideas like girls education and women’s rights (plus odd things like banning music 😅) they are the big giveaways that things are regressive rather than progressive .. but if they sort this quick which I think they could.. they will gain international respect.. more tourism.. a stronger economy. Do I think they can do it? Yes I do.

      @@carriepatsalis 100%. The IEA do say they will eventually allow education for women however they are working to change the curriculum which was set previously by Americans, to something that is correct according to the Islamic laws and values - shariah. Can I ask what you mean by women's rights? Some opinion and views differ within Islam but majority say that music is haram (prohibited) so thats why it's banned as according to the shariah. Hope you can understand the reason for these and hope you had a great time in Afghanistan!

    • @carriepatsalis
      @carriepatsalis  7 месяцев назад +4

      Well education to a high level is a human right.. it’s also in the Quran, so Islam promotes education. My understanding of Islam is that it doesn’t force people to do things, it’s a kind and understanding religion. So the idea of forcing a music ban doesn’t seem Islamic to me, it seems a human interpretation. Music is an integral parting any culture.. Afghan music is wonderful and it was sad that culturally things are being changed by humans for what I see as the wrong reasons. As a planet we should let people practise their faith without force.. I believe that’s a guiding principle of Islam too.

    • @pashtunafghan1047
      @pashtunafghan1047 7 месяцев назад

      who defines human rights? White man in the west? who gave the white man the right determines human rights? we muslims do not accept the concept of human rights defined in the west, we have the islamic system of human rights which states the rights of women and men and their responsibilities, we do not need the white man's definition. the Koran does not talk about secular education, the Koran talks about religious education, not about secular ones, Muslims in the West have instilled in you false ideas about Islam, Islam is not a religion of peace and goodness, Islam is a religion of justice. who told you that the Koran does not force Muslims to comply with their obligations? Islam is a religion that has its own system of laws that a person must obey, the Koran says that non-Muslims cannot be forced to accept Islam, and about Muslims the Koran says that a believer has no other choice when making decisions if Allah and his messenger have made a decision. the laws and rules of Islam are not determined by what seems to you or me, the rules in Islam are determined by the Almighty, Islam is a political religion, music is prohibited in Islam, there are reliable hadiths about this, hadiths are the second source of Islam. if a culture is contrary to Sharia law, then such culture should be thrown out, and where did you get the idea that music is prohibited in Afghanistan? Yes, music is prohibited, but where? in public places, but no one forbade you to listen to music at home, in the car or even at a wedding, besides, Western music corrupts Muslims. who told you that you can’t force people to observe religion? where did you get this from and on what basis, that’s why we Afghans don’t like Europeans when they impose their ideologies on us, it’s like the relationship between a slave and a master, the master is the White man in the west, and the slaves are the rest of the world, if the white man said that this is not acceptable, it means it is unacceptable, we are Muslims and we do not have to live according to the rules of the white man in the West
