Lincoln's skull not being water tight was such a subtle dark joke I love it
Conan had a skit where Lincoln lived after being shot and went to finish the play, then shot himself in the head because the play was so terrible.
oh man i only just got it. thats brilliant
Jeff's Kiss 🤌🏼
@@toastedjoe1013 Funny but not masturbating bear funny.
Oh, man! NOW I get it! 😂
I was lucky enough to intern for Conan about 6 years ago and Mr. Stack was one of the nicest, funniest people I've ever met.
Nice, man
That’s great to hear.
So no money? How did you live?
WHAT THE, yo yo yo! This guy interned for Conan!
@@GamerKM. THAT GUYS AWESOME!!!!! (breaks pencil, rearranges sugar packets)
I hope we're both referencing the "Conan hangs out with his interns" remote
This is Conan-style humor! A perfect tribute!
no it’s his writer’s humour
@@Zetsuke4 ...who used to write for Conan so he’s part of it.
I always think conan's sense of humour is different from his writers. Based on listening to his podcast and watching his improv on remotes, he has a very different writing style that the skit/monologue.
This is definitely absurdist humour, similar to Conans. Did you not watch early Simpson's? XD
Stack doesnt write stuff like that when his not with Conan, with this skit being the sole exception. Its his version of Conan-stuff.
"Slenderman Ron Weasley" Perfect.
What anime is your profile pic from?
@@sabercat5490 I'll answer for them, Gurren Lagann.
I hope "Slenderman Ron Weasley" is considered for the name of Conan's HBO show.
I read this as Spiderman, not Slenderman, and thought it was a compliment at first ha
I love that all the late night hosts and a ton of people in comedy have the utmost respect and love for Conan. Martin Short gave a nice speech about Conan and how incredibly funny he is a few days ago. Seth Rogen and Bill Hader both talked about how much they loved him growing up. It's just awesome to see all this love for Conan. Conan absolutely deserves it, he is one of the greatest talk show hosts ever.
ruclips.net/video/hzVqV0HUVq4/видео.html
The best was Black Jack.
Don't forget Paul Rudd, even on Conan's final days, made the show play a scene from Mac & Me. That 20+ year ongoing joke.
I saw the tail end of Letterman's run. And I respect Conan as the heir to Letterman's brand of comedy. Fallon's comedy annoys me like Leno did.
Conan and Andy puffing on a doobie with Seth Rogen this week is a late night talk show Hall of Fame moment for me. 🔥💨💨💨 😎
Conan was the last surviving late night host of the 90s. Long live the 90s.
Conan would still be on were it not for Jay "Big Chin" Leno. And it would've saved us from Jimmy Fallon.
long live the 90s
It's all downhill now conan was the last funny host left
Conan and Letterman were the last greats
ruclips.net/video/hzVqV0HUVq4/видео.html
This is the best. You’ve done a total Conan sketch to celebrate his unique sense of humour. Perfection. Well done team
And on a nice meta level, it starts with the guy who played Frankenstein from the Frankenstein Wastes a Minute of Our Time sketch wasting a minute of our time. Intentional or not, that makes it so much better for me.
it’s his writer’s style of humour, not his
I was looking for a comment pointing out this was done in the style of a conan bit, I'm glad I found it.
I think Abe Lincoln's skull was also a nice personal touch. 😂
I was hoping someone in the audience would stand up to interject…
I was hoping that one of the other hosts would talk about Conan and Colbert seemed the most likely. Wasn't wrong.
Kimmel too said something
ruclips.net/video/hzVqV0HUVq4/видео.html
Didn’t Fallon say anything? That would be lousy move on his part since Conan basically made him what he is today.
@@raisehell1996 Yeah, Conan left the tonight show partially cause he didn't want Jimmy to suffer.
@@alvinanil6996 Exactly, he wrote that on his public farewell letter in 2010. That’s a piece of shit move by Fallon in my opinion. Out of all late night hosts, he should be the one thanking Conan the most.
When I was a high school kid in the 90s, my friends and I would talk about last night's Conan every single day. He was our Carson, a true comedy virtuoso.
Letterman was my Carson in middle school, high school, college and beyond starting in the late 80's but I did think Conan's show was strange enough to have been worthy successor to Dave's Late Night show. He also had good musical guests.
The ride along with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart and the bits with Jordan and his PA were hilarious.
And Conan Without Borders were amazing especially the Greenland segments when the former guy floated the idea of buying it.
That makes total sense, Conan was 30 when he debuted on Late Night in 93 so he absolutely had the appeal to the youngest late night demo audience
@@cazia9 And remember Conan had already been a writer for SNL and the Simpsons by then. He wasn't "on" tv but he didn't come out of nowhere.
@@tiacho2893 Indeed - he wrote one of the series' most beloved early episodes - Marge vs The Monorail, and was invited to perform the Monorail Song at special Simpsons music concert at the Hollywood Bowl (it was originally sung by the great Phil Hartman as Lyle Lanley in the episode)
Awesome to have Brian Stack as a Guest. On Conan he wrote many classic bits; played Frankenstein and was WikiBear. On Colbert, he write the minute openers and narrates most of them. He is also the voice of God on Colbert
He will always be the interrupter for me!
WikiBear was fantastic!
Was he also the Traveling Salesman? Or was that somebody else.
And there was also the ghost singer who started with nice lyrics, but then they would turn out to be racist, sexist, or something else.
oh so he’s the wikibear guy
@@Zetsuke4 Brian Stack has many faces and voices like the Voice of God Stephen talks to. When he writes his comedy; Colbert and Conan take credit. They both would be sad clowns without him.
Brian Stack is one of the best late night writers. He always made me laugh on Conan, and he has always done the same on LSC. Much love and appreciation to Brian!
Brian was always better with Conan. The absurdist comedy really made Brian shine.
@@oneinvisibledoctor As much as I love Colbert, you are 100% right. He works better in pure absurdism, but whatever he’s on, he’s awesome on that show.
So much oove.
I oove him too :)
A professional writer through and through
Brian Stack is an unsung hero of Late Night, the Tonight Show, Conan and especially now on The Late Show. I'm so glad when his name gets out there. Every time he shows up in a bit he absolutely kills it and his voice is unmistakable. 👏. 👏. 👏.
I just watched a Hannigan the Salesman compilation one day and a compilation of Crooner Ghost one the day after.
Kudos to Colbert, he's the only one who acknowledged that today is Conan's final episode. Bittersweet indeed.
Jimmy Kimmel did as well. I think Fallon recently posted something about it.
Yes, cheers to Stephen Colbert, he is a mensch.
@@adis95 didn't know about that. Thank you.
Really?
That kinda sucks.
Oh. I type before I read. Because I'm selfish. I guess.
Im so happy stephen did this. A bit of cheer in the sadness that i was left with after conan's last show.
Lincoln's skull being "not water tight" is one of the most underrated jokes of all time
All jokes told within the last 24 hrs. are underrated.
It could have been worse or even darker if the joke was about JFK's skull not being water tight.
I would probably still go to hell for laughing.
No. Too soon.
I don’t think the audience “got” the joke. As someone pointed out, JFK woulda hit harder, but probably too hard network tv.
Yeah, because of the eye holes
Brian Stack as the voice of Wikibear was one of the funniest bits on Conan. He is soo underused on The Late show.
I’m Wikibear!!
Criminally so
This felt like one of those early Late Night skits where Conan, Andy and Max are looking at pictures that Conan got developed from his camera and the more pictures they look over the worse whatever event they were at got.
"Drinking endangered leopard milk out of Lincoln's skull." Top-shelf writing.
Regardless of how I die I want this listed as my cause of death. 😂
The best "epstein didn't kill himself" joke yet
The exact right amount of time had passed since I heard one too. What a great monologue for Stack, lol.
Carson, Letterman, Stewart, and Conan are the Mt. Rushmore of Late Night.
Colin Quinn, Arsenio Hall, Craig Ferguson, and Carson Daly!😆

I love that Colbert paid tribute to Conan. Even this skit (and I'm sure the writer Brian Stack had a lot to do w/ it) felt like a sketch you'd see on a Conan show. I remember nearly every late night talk show host doing the same for Letterman back in 2015. It's the end of an era for Conan but I can't wait to see what he does on HBO Max.
Brian Stack was so funny in his sketches with Conan and he’s still funny now. I swear I always thought he was related to Conan lol

Such a fun buildup. I love it when Stack undersells. His best work.
Love Brian!
Thank you Stephen for bringing the "Stackster" into the limelight! Been a huge fan of this underrated comedic genius for years.
Where is NOOOORRM!!!
Sorry, sorry I'm venting.
Your comment triggered a deep desire to have talk show hosts risk having Norm Macdonald again.
I met Brian Stack outside of a thrilling adventure hour show in Brooklyn. I brought up the Interupter character from Conan. Spotting me as a comedy nerd he spoke with me for like 15-20 mins. So kind, incredibly exciting and a memory I’ll treasure forever. He rules!!!
Brian Stack was one of the best things about Conan, the old time crooner, the interrupter and the "tastic guy" were my favorite bits.
I watched a compilation of the crooner and Hannigan the salesman on two consecutive days. So good. You'd think watching all the Crooner skits back to back would'be as good because they're so similar but it's so much better. Seeing Conan being naïvely hopeful that the "song for the ladies" is not going to be nice.
Conan > Leno
Absolutely
Conan > Every Host .

The Simpsons and Colbert are up there with the best farewell to Conan.
The Irish never go quietly.
The Irish goodbye says otherwise. But Conan doesn't go out quietly
Unless they're doing the Irish Goodbye.
..and they never come quietly either.
especially not in Betty White's sex dungeon
This really feels like a sketch that wouldn't be out of place if it was shown on Conan
I'm pretty sure this sketch was meant to be a tribute
Brian Stack is one of Conan's Long-Time Legends, and just a great comedy writer on his own -- the way he delivered this bit was 100% classic Late Night Conan Style- a really nice salute to Conan, thanks Brian!
"And you *know* that thing is not watertight. Milk everywhere." 😆
If I had been in the audience, I'd have stood and clapped for Brian Stack. He is a brilliant writer, and his skits on Conan were piss your pants funny. Stack, McCann, announcer Joel, William Preston, and many others made Conan and Andy into a great show.
This is a whole Conan script to send a farewell to Conan!
We finally get to hear Wikibear’s full entry for “Conan Christopher O’Brien.”
“I’m wikibear, yaaaaaaaay!”
YES
This was a very Conan-worthy sketch. This audience didn't understand or deserve it. Long live Conan!
Then again, Conan has his podcast.
I wonder if we can have the Brians Stack and O'Connell on the podcast.
What little girl?
The end of an era... but he'll be back... When the people need him most.
After pulling a sword from a stone, presumably.
*from a paywall
He's getting off the sinking ship that is late night
His podcast is outstanding.
That'll put those "where's your sword??" comments to rest at least
No, he's going to return as Conan the White. Somehow even more pale than before!
Oh man. The continual heightening of the story was hilarious. You can tell Stack wrote for Conan.
Brian is a legend himself.

I met him as an intern on Conan. Very nice guy and the only writer who actually took the time to meet the interns and learn their name.
@@toastedjoe1013 that's so awesome
He's a national treasure of comedy.
I started watching Conan in the late 90s when I was a freshman in HS. Nobody did late night like he did, because he has that silly sense of humor that you either love and 100% get, or don’t find funny at all. I’m so happy Stephen paid tribute to Conan for his last late night show. I’ve always felt like Conan didn’t get as much love as he deserved over the years compared to other late night hosts. Can’t wait to see what he’s up to with HBO Max… and gonna keep listening to his podcast.
When he comes back he better bring 3 things back. Andy, Jordan Schlansky and his Beard.
Omg best comment
And Sona.
And Richie "Labamba" Rosenberg
To be honest, most of his staff are more entertaining than his celebrity guests.
And Norm
Brian Stack is great on every show he's been on.
Long May You Run, Conan. You've been the sparkling loony light in my life , and I love everything that you and the team have done over the last 28 years, which is basically my age. Through times darkest, you have shone brightest, and we are all lucky to have enjoyed you.
Now go ride Letterman's horse!
Simply glorious..... but really, who hasn’t been to Betty White’s season dungeon?
ruclips.net/video/hzVqV0HUVq4/видео.html
Season dungeon? Like, paprika and stuff? I think that's Martha Stewart.
Brian Stack is an absolute legend. One of the funniest writers on Conan and Colbert. Played some great characters. Loved this
"and you know that thing's not watertight" 😂😂😂 that's a GEM
Brian Stack is the greatest sketch performer of all time, no doubt about it.
NBC & especially Jay Leno should ashamed for the rotten way they treated Conan.
True. The same can be said about how they treated Carson and Letterman. NBC and Leno totally screwed over the three greatest late night hosts ever, all because of Leno's jealousy & the overinflated ego he stores in his chin. The man is totally toxic and people are already forgetting about Jay 'fat-jaw' Leno, whereas in 100 years people will still be talking about how brilliant Conan, Letterman and Carson were.
@@PJV1990 I can't remember ever laughing at anything Leno ever "joked". And now the Tonight Show has an ever bigger idiot hosting with J.F. I can never stand a "comic" who laughs at all his own jokes. He's pathetic. He sucked on SNL too. Thank God for Stephen Colbert though.
FACTS
I love Conan and I love Brian Stack. I don’t know either of them personally, but beneath their comedy seems to be a strong foundation of kindness.
"Duvall was in the sex Dungeon."
-most underrated line in TV history
I can't think of a segment that Conan would enjoy more. I assume he will have laughed uproariously and then abruptly muttered something about 'moidur' just loud enough to be overheard by one other person in the room, who without context will go to sleep that night anxious about the violent crime they now suspect Conan is planning.
Hahaha. I detect a fellow fan.
This was sweet. It's nice to see all the admiration Conan has from his peers
I just love that you honor Conan! Thank you so much!
This guy is one of the funniest writers. His 1930’s ghost sketches on Conan’s show were hilarious!
I used to find myself humming those walking to work and chuckling to myself about the awfully inappropriate content.
There is never enough Brian Stack!!!!!
Yay Brian! Loved his Artie Kendall bits on Conan.
brian stack was hands down the best writer on Conan. I remember being sad when he left.
That last 2 minute stretch of dialogue alone is pure, raw, all meat-no filler Conan humor.
That was a nice and well delivered pile-on at the end! 😅
That was quality Conan writing.
He's the Wikibear guy right? That's my favorite segment in Conan's show
Stack & Brian McCann is the all-time best Conan writers/actors. Such an insane amount of good sketches between the two and I will never forget the Late Night days growing up as a teen watching him every night. Thanks for all the laughs Conan & crew!
When he mentioned Betty White's sex dungeon, they should have added a quick little line like, "And Betty, she really likes Conan...Really likes him..."
He should of also said "and man the things Betty did to Conan!"
Brian had some great characters on Conan.
Brian Stack got a big applause probably because they recognised him from the many characters he plays on the show. Very well deserved. He's a great guy.
Surely to God Brian stack should get his own show, somone sort it out
I just love this guy.
With all due respect, Conan has and always will be the funniest Latenight talkshow host of all time
Love Brian Stack. This was a great video and awesome tribute to my favourite late night host Mr. Conan O'Brien. I'll always remember Stack as Hannigan the Traveling Salesman and The Crooner Ghost. We'll miss you on late night tv Conan!
Ive missed Brian Stack's stuff on CONAN ever since he left, his last 3 shows though, were the best written ones he's ever had(on CONAN at least) and it wasn't like full of jokes that were great and probably saved up, they were extremely topical too. Theres a reason Conan's writing family-tree stretches farther and wider than even the Carson/Letterman/Leno by FAR. Because they were they always the most inventive, intuitive, and just fucking hilarious writers we've ever on US Television in history.
This is such a Conan style bit lol
Love this friendship, so glad they turned it around after the patchy start. Such a sweet gesture having Brian Stack out to pretty much say his goodbyes as well, in skit form, most likely how Conan would appreciate it most.
He's gone for now...but he'll come back, stronger, faster, and redder hair!
If the hair gets even redder we'll all be blind. 😄
I love that both Stephen here and Will Ferrell on Conan's last show made the same exact joke about giving Conan a pre-farewell for HBO lmao
Brian Stack is like half of the reason I watched Conan in the 90s. So many ridiculous characters I can't even remember them all
I love seeing the writers, actors and producers from the show!
Conan is my hero. That's a total understatement
Conan deserves a send off on every late night show he paved the way for a lot of people.
Well played Brian. Had the pleasure of meeting Conan a few different times while he was here doing that tour after he got unjustly ousted from The Tonight Show, and he could not have been nicer. Wishing him the best with his next project. I actually didnt even know he was retiring from TBS till today.
Thank you for honoring Conan, Steven. You are a class act, as ever!
Do yourself a favor and watch some of Brian Stack’s bits! He’s a genius.
