- Old Lady literally chased us to the car and wouldn't stop tapping on the glass... here's the result.
2023 Update: I realize this is wrong, I was a kid. At the end someone does come get her. I wouldn’t do something like this now of course. I’m ashamed a bit, but there’s nothing I can do about it now. It was poorly recorded and we were spouting off nonsense. I’m not even sure how this video took off. But rest assured, she did get help. I promise you that. I saw it.

I think she just has dementia. My grandmother had it and she would do weird stuff like this. It's really sad.
I am a hairdresser. And I get a lot of elderly people. This women could have dementia or Alzheimers. Sometimes they don't really know were they are, or how to talk, or understand what you are saying. It quite sad to be honest. The person that was hopefully supervising her probably had her stay in a car for a moment till they returned, only to end up wandering the parking lot. If for some reason you ever happen at a situation like this, maybe bring her in the store and have them ask on the intercom for this ladies "guardian" to say the least.

Jonathan Hoover I worked in geriatric care specializing in stage three dementia's, I think most likely some sort of frontotemporal damage and if that was the case you not engaging was quite a good idea, just call medical professionals. When someone has damaged there language and emotional centers you really don't wanna be trying to fix there problems its a hard job and often not permanent(i mean emotional swings of 4 or more in an hour). You do the best you can but brain damage is brain damage.

Dementia, I think. :/ I have had it in my family and worked with it as a CNA. The thousand-yard stare, chewing, odd response/looking for the horn, unresponsive to questions but recognizes that there are people inside the car...She may have been leaning close and tapping on the glass because she did not understand how to get to you, but somewhere in her brain she did fundamentally understand that she needed to be around other people or needed help. Unfortunately in my experience most people do not understand what they are looking at and just try to get away from it or make fun of it. I understand that it can come on as really unnerving, even to those of us who have worked with it, but there should still be a response of, "Something I am not used to/okay with is happening, I'm calling the police," who would have found her help in this case.
It’s a weird thing though. She’s not hurting anyone so you’re not sure if you should call the cops. You can sit there and say you should do this but until you’re in that situation, you might still be unsure what to do. If people are creeping you out like this, most people wouldn’t trust them. Why would you? Yeah they might be lost and confused but you never know. They could be violent. It’s so awkward and you can’t just openly trust people cause that’s not safe for you

Also calling 911 doesn't mean police are the only ones to arrive at a scene or situation. There are emts and firefighters. This lady could've well been missing from family, It is clear something is wrong with her. The most common sense thing to do is call for help...911. Duh.
