    Recently, I rented a regular Kia Forte for a trip from DC to Buffalo and it rained both ways through the mountains. This car handled well, rarely hydroplaned while I was going about 75 throughout. The non LED low beam headlights suck for vision through both rain and night. The regular cloth seats had comfortable side bolsters and I was able to drive comfortably for 7 hours straight. Although the fuel tank is only 12 gallons, it has a 480 mile range, as I averaged 41 mpg each way, which included mountains. And I did not struggle going uphill (with the base engine) but I was alone. I was surprised at the overall drivability of the vehicle and didn't feel like too much of drop off compared to my cars, Audi S4, BMW M340i, AMG E63 S, and Super Duty F250 (all with leather, AWD, and with at least 320 HP). Even the base Forte is good value although I am not sure of the long term reliability.

    I bought and own this sedan. I love it. You failed to mention that the passenger GT logo above the glovebox and accents on the door by the mirrors have adaptive/color interior lighting. Turns on with the headlights.

Purple accents on the inside that illuminate. Car drives like a dream as well. Wasn't aware of the long life Kia's have so I am looking forward to that.

    I have a 2021 Forte GT same as this one, except in white which I think looks much better than red because there are already so many red accents on the car. I have the GT-1 package which doesn’t come with the same leather full leather, dual climate control or sunroof. Which out of the 3, the only thing I care for and miss having is a sunroof. The leather with the cloth inserted bolstered seats fits myself much better from a personal standpoint. Otherwise, everything else is the exact same when it comes to the GT1 vs GT2. If you don’t care for full leather, dual climate or sunroofs, save yourself some money and just go with the GT1 package. I love the car overall. I traded in a 2014 Kia Cadenza Limited SXT that was fully loaded and still very much prefer this car.

    I just bought my 2021 6 speed. So far it's great. You get a ton for the money the car doesn't feel cheap. I do think the keys suck though. The interior is great and the steering wheel is fantastic. The shifter doesn't feel bad I'm just not a fan of the factory clutch. Way too light pedal feel for my taste. The engine is strong just takes a bit for the turbo to really kick in. I'm sure a tune will help that. I personally love the AC controls. The only thing that could be improved is the road feel. I was also very surprised with the handling. I'm going from a John Cooper works mini to this and am very happy so far.

    Got my 2021 forte GT2 in gravity gray a few months ago. Just passed 7500 miles and it’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve gotten it up to 137 mph and when I baby it I’m getting 38.2 mpg. The dual clutch is great as well. Was comparing against a Elantra Limited at the time and the performance of the forte won me over. After seeing the Elantra N-Line doesn’t offer vented seats or that all digital display and 10.25in screen they offer on the Limited, I’m glad I pulled the trigger on a great deal for my forte!

    I cannot recommend this car enough. Nothing has ever come close to the fun driving experience of driving this baby around in Snow White pearl with dark ceramic tint. The pearl specks glisten in the sun with the stark contrast of the gloss back trim and windows. It’s interior is absolutely stunning and blows away Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, etc. And my monthly payment is only $327/month opposed to the $400/month I was paying for my shitbox Ford Fusion. It gets off the line so quick, and the quiet but audible drone of the exhaust puts a smile on my face every time I hit the gas. The 7 speed DCT is smooth as silk and shifts precisely yet holds gears in place if it anticipates you’re about to punch it. 10/10 I cannot recommend this car highly enough!!!

    Kia gives a lot of car for the money, but I'm kind of scared off buying one due to the very real problem both Kia and parent company Hyundai have had with engines catching fire for years now. And perhaps more importantly, their decision to "recall" the vehicles involves only installing a sensor to alert the driver rather than actually repairing the engine. They even go so far as to tell people not to park them inside a garage overnight for fear of them catching fire even when not driving.

    I've looked at specs online comparing the 2020 vs 2021 models, any idea why the 2021 is around 300 pounds heavier than the 2020 version?

      @M4B21S88 3 года назад

      I’m pretty sure that google just had the specs wrong. The 2700 ish lbs is for the base Fortes with a 2.0l.
      There’s absolutely no reason why a 2020 would be 300 lbs heavier than a 2021 1.6t.
      So, I had to find the answer cuz I was also wondering as to WHY the difference when I first bought my 2021 GT2...

    I like the Forte and its value proposition 10x's better than the Elantra. To the Elantra N-Line is missing too many features that the Kia has standard, plus the Kia is far less polarizing and will age better. The Kia's interior is dressed and finished better as well. Kia went straight for the Jetta GLI with this car. Considering the GLI can get up to $35k, I'm taking the Kia!! I see Car-Town Kia has gotten remodeled, so I hope they gave you a cut brothers!
