      How did you get it to sound so quiet. Great video as I am an old aircraft mechanic and lover of flight.

    • @sla31

      Honestly it was just a really quite aircraft/flight. I actually had to crank the sound up quite a bit just to get it to what it was like here. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Thank you so much for sharing this, the A340 videos are becoming rare as airlines operator retires them..

      No problem my friend. I hope to be able to fly on them some more before they are gone.

    That wing flex is pretty interesting to watch. Also pretty amazing that the pilots can fly these planes with joysticks! Great video!!

      I leaned to fly on a Yoke, and I think it would be strange to fly with a joystick. However, I've talked to several Airbus pilots, and they all say you get used to it pretty quickly. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Beautiful takeoff, the a340 is incredible!

      The A340, in particular the 600, is probably my favorite aircraft type. It's too bad the four engine aircraft are dying off. Hopefully I'll get to fly on them again before they are all gone. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Very nice video! I’ve only been once on an A346, Lufthansa, and I recall that every maneuver was smooth and elegant.

      Thank you my friend. This is the only A346 I've been on, and it was a great flight. I hope to fly on another one at the beginning of next year. We'll see if schedules and such hold out. Thanks for watching man!

    Excellent! Great views, even seeing later aircraft having taken off on the same runway.

    I took off via this runway on route to LHR, however I was onboard a 747, I took the a340-6 to JFK tho! I loved the 747 but I must admit ,the A340 was a much more pleasant flight. Love virgin!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  6 лет назад

      I have never flown on a Virgin Atlantic 747, but I have flown on a British Airways 747. I'd agree that I loved flying on the 747, but the A340-600 was much more comfortable. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Give me a thumbs up if u remember when u had to raise ur voice to talk to the person next to u on a flight. The engines are so quite now.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  6 лет назад

      Oh I definitely remember that. In fact that's still the case on some engines if you are sitting in front of the wing. I'm thinking IAE engines in particular. I just flew on the new 737-8 Max, and it was amazing to me how quite the engines were. It's amazing what they can engineer now. Thanks for watching my friend!

      Skylite Productions, I recently had that experience. I was like, " dude are u gonna speed up? The engines were so quiet.

    That looks like a really slow climb out! Not much more than 1000-1500 ft/min. Must be a very heavy bird!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  6 лет назад +1

      The flight was about 75% full passenger wise, but I have no idea how much fuel/cargo was also onboard, so it could have been very heavy. Thanks for watching man!

      I think ATC or the SID instructed them to fly at a restricted altitude until a certain waypoint. If you look at 3:50 the aircraft actually starts pitching and climbing rapidly. The a340-500/600 are very powerful. Unlike the a340-300 which has the greatest difficulty to climb when loaded.

      Or high « FLEX T/O » to use less fuel, and preserve engines life..
