  • As much as shooting in 60 frames-per-second is a cool feature (so cool to me, that I still choose it over shooting in 4K which is also available), this device is only limited to doing them in 10-minute increments, and I wasn't expecting those announcements on the service to last so long which explains the slight cut toward the end. It turned out to be very good service though so I'm not complaining.
Anyway, this was another case of choosing a window seat on the left side of the aircraft, knowing that it was either going to be a 1R or 28R departure, or that it'd be a very good chance it'd be one of those runways. Like my previous departure in the same general direction on JetBlue a few months prior, the left side of the aircraft on these 1R departures that continue east make for a scenic opportunity of parts of the San Francisco bay with the bonus of the sunset.
This was also my first time flying with Virgin Atlantic since 2001, then on one of their Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

That 787 must’ve been light since it took off from runway 1R instead of 28L/28R! Cool video btw I love the 787 especially after flying my first Dreamliner on a -10 💕

If the winds favor it, 1R will even have everything from 747s to A380s and A350s, since it's also a shorter taxi (especially from A) and there are no obstacles to clear after takeoff either since it's mostly just the open bay.
