Hi Carla, this is great, thanks! Enjoying seeing a fellow Aussie make such helpful and fun videos. Just a little suggestion: from 6:14 you say 'scribite sub hac pellicula quid nomen equo est'. 'Est' should be 'sit' in an indirect question.
I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would ... but Christopher could really use a better microphone. Clear voice recording is important for language learning
I see you're using the latin language option in Minecraft. Is it any good? I'm thinking of using it myself for practice with vocabularly and general immersion but I'm worried it's more of a joke language than anything with any real effort put in. My latin skills are not good enough to tell the difference.
Yes, the Latin Minecraft language option is well executed. My only minor complaints are that there are no macrons, and sometimes gender causes some awkwardness (eg. "you are dead" is rendered "mortuus/a es" to cover male and female genders) but it's as good as I can see it being. If you play with it for input, I recommend turning on the setting that captions sound effects, so you get a constant stream of description of the environmental noises. Playing Minecraft itself doesn't give you a lot of language exposure, as a lot of actions don't really require reading text, but if you were going to play Minecraft anyway, doing it in Latin would give more Latin input than playing in English.
@@FoundinAntiquity Thanks for the response! I'm glad to hear it's well executed. I plan to fill my world with mostly signposts describing things in latin
