Not all southern people (especially my cousins and siblings) have the typical drawl or hillbilly accent. TBH most of us don't have a special, easy to identify as southern, accent unless we're using southern slang. And even then, it's not much.

What is it about Keith that makes him stand out as the gay one? My radars have not been tingling at all but it seems like it is so apparent for the rest of the fandom OnO What have I missed?
Like, personally for me, it's wishful thinking since the writers have said they'll be able to explore LGBT elements and sexuality within the show. And I think a lot of fans are desperate to see the (arguably) most popular character in VLD be canonically gay.
Personally, I'm just circling the T in LGBT and leaning heavily on it in the hopes that CANON TRANS PIDGE? Like, gay Keith would be cool and all but PIDGE PLEASE I mean Pidge has no canon pronouns as of this point. Pidge could feasibly be any gender. Pidge could be a transgirl who was out to her family and had to come out all over again in episode 6. Pidge could have started being "Pidge" for sneaky reasons but realized during that point in his life that he was more comfortable and confident as Pidge Gunderson than he ever was as Katie Holt. Pidge could be nonbinary. I just. I want a trans Pidge so bad. MTF, FTM, nonbinary, I don't give a fuck, just give me trans Pidge.
Tbh I'm also rooting for trans or nonbinary Pidge. There's so little transgender representation in media, and like, it would mean so much. Pidge's gender ambiguity already implies it as so, but I hope the writers confirm it.
I don't know if I'm exactly a good person to speak on this but I don't think Pidge is trans. If Pidge was born a girl and became a trans boy why would she ever announce to the whole team that she's a girl? That just seems like something no trans person would do. If she had already transitioned to girl in the flashbacks why would she go back to being a boy and then stay that way after leaving the Garrison? If Pidge is trans then I think it's really sloppy writing which isn't in character for the Voltron team. I think Pidge is great as just a representation that girls don't have to be girly. She still identifies as a girl, in interviews the team calls her a girl, but she's okay getting down and dirty and I think that's so amazing. If the team decides she should be nonbinary because she is just pretty laid back about her gender in general, that's cool too, in fact it's awesome, but right now she seems more like Mulan to me, and is such a great rolemodel to show being a girl doesn't have to mean being prim and proper or even relegated to healer like most girl fighters. tl;dr the way Pidge addresses her own gender and specifically saying "Im a girl" makes me think she's comfortable being a girl, but just doesn't feel strapped down into acting girly, but that's just my thoughts.

If Pidge is trans then I think it's really sloppy writing which isn't in character for the Voltron team. I think Pidge is great as just a representation that girls don't have to be girly. She still identifies as a girl, in interviews the team calls her a girl, but she's okay getting down and dirty and I think that's so amazing.
If the team decides she should be nonbinary because she is just pretty laid back about her gender in general, that's cool too, in fact it's awesome, but right now she seems more like Mulan to me, and is such a great rolemodel to show being a girl doesn't have to mean being prim and proper or even relegated to healer like most girl fighters.
tl;dr the way Pidge addresses her own gender and specifically saying "Im a girl" makes me think she's comfortable being a girl, but just doesn't feel strapped down into acting girly, but that's just my thoughts.
