  • The instrumental production of the Italian Seicento was still closely linked to vocal music. The score constituted during the 17th century a sketch of eternally unfinished work, as exemplified by the substitution of the original vocal parts by diminutions in which the improvised fantasy of the performer had the last word.

    Splendid! Wonderful! And a very good sound uptaking! I specially admire the construction with the chembalo standing on the organ, thereby beeing almost the same instrument but with different sound.
