Welcome to MarchVivo, a curated classical music channel exclusively focused on chamber formats: piano music, early music, string quartets, opera, but also choir, dance, jazz, and other popular genres. All the videos are live recordings of concerts held at the Fundación Juan March in Madrid, Spain. You can also watch here the streamed concerts that are held three times a week during the season: every Wednesday at 6.30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon (Central European Time).

Weinberg: String Quartets Nos. 5, 6 & 7 (Complete Quartets II) | Danel Quartet · MarchVivo
The second concert of Mieczysław Weinberg's quartet integral opens with Quartets Nos. 5 and 6. In the mid-1940s, the composer began a professional and personal relationship with his mentor, Dmitri Shostakovich, for whom he felt a deep admiration ever since, fueled by a reciprocal influence. After a ten-year break, the 1957 Quartet No. 7 inaugurates his second compositional stage within this genre.

There are five different early languages: Old Danish, Old French, Occitan, Middle High German and Early New High German. Saw Miriam singing at the Early music festival of Tartu many years ago. Was as mesmerized as i am now. Her two colleagues have the perfect understanding of the era. Poets, wandering vagants and jugleurs in one.

I believe String Trios is a an almost neglected chapter in the Book of Classical Music. So good then that MarchVivo gives us a lesson of how it all started. With well choosen examples. Thank you!
In fact, the string trio was the most cultivated chamber genre during Classicism in statistical terms, even more than the string quartet
