Moya Doherty is the person who PRODUCED the show. Michael Flatley was later replaced with Colin Dunne. Okay, since somme comments below do not have a clear idea about who created Riverdance let me tell you. Michael created de show in what steps in music refers, while Bill Whelan created the music. The lady you said, was the owner, who paid Flatley and Whelan for the creation of the show
Michael said he had an unknown virus. I suspect it was Covid and that covid has been around for awhile and that the authorities knew about it and were waiting to exploit it when it arrived in force.
He did not create Riverdance. Moya Doherty did, and she called him up after seeing his performances in ireland, and asked him to lead the interval act with Jean Butler, which of course turned into a show.
This guy goes on and on about creating Riverdance. Michael Flatley definitely did not create Riverdance. Riverdance was the creation of Moya Doherty. He can dance, and is fast, but his ego keeps up with it.
