JRD is the absolute proof of Self Actualisation in Maslow's hierarchy of needs! I have met JRD twice both times very briefly when I worked for large electrical company in India and we helped in the lighting of JRD's office and in lighting of a fountain in Horniman Circle in Mumbai which the Tatas had adopted and transformed from an eye sore to a beautiful garden. In both instance he was gentle, very soft spoken and terribly interested in my career aspirations etc. and extremely complimentary to the "work" we were rendering for the Tata Group! An awesome personality!!

JRD was so well ahead of his times! He had so many nice suggestions which government of the day did not implement. As a result of that we have not made much progress in area of human development!

I am Surprised to hear man like him can be fired. Well People take century to worth the right man. I am proud to be part of the Tata Group and learnt and entity has nourished me professionally and in a personal way. Group that made humanune rules of 8 hours working for labor and first understood their pain since inception. JRD start from almost NIL as mentioned his father dies in debt and building such a Empire is really requires a vision and hard work/passion and lot of sacrifice. I also smell that indian history is made around Gandhi's and real patriots were not given a fair chance of command. well, its a wonderful experience hearing and watching Mr. Tata. God Bless Tatas and India.

Thank you Mr. Mehrotra for uploading this video of my idol, Mr. JRD Tata. I was born 3 years after his death. So, I had never heard his voice. This is probably the only video of JRD Tata on RUclips where one can actually see him speak.

Rajiv, thanks a ton for uploading this interview. It is always pleasure to listen to great visionaries and JRD was the most respected individual & industrialist of its time. Thanks again!! On the other hand, it saddened me more to listen to insanity of our Great(Not So Great!!), politicians. Disappointing to learn that views of visionary like JRD were ignored by Jawaharlal Nehru & Indira Gandhi. Shame on Indian polity, the kind of low life they have. Instead of working for development of the country they fight for their own personal agendas. People like JRD Tata & Rattan Tata could have & can do so much for the country, just our great politicians don't allow that to happen. Shame ... real Shame!!

Very nice upload. Mr. Rajiv, thanks for posting. Today's journalists, specially Indian journalists from Aaj Tak, NDTV, etc must learn from this interviewer. How calmly he is giving a chance to Honorable Tata to speak instead of catching him in traps of words. Thanks again.

The interviewee has very subtle and indeed relax approach which extracts more info from simple questions.
I wonder in which a year this interview recorded? JRD Tata was THE one of KEY player of modern days India and shaping its profound future progress. Astonishing that Morarji Desai was responsible for his removal of Air India Chairman the man who lay the foundation. Desai himself had very repugnant and repulsive personality with very low human interaction within his own party which led many mishaps during his short premiership.
