I got the A7SIII before the FX3 was announced, and honestly... I'm cool with it. I also use the A7SIII as a stills cam, so I prefer the body. I do really covet that top handle with the integrated audio.

I had the same editing issues on the iMac with my a7S III. But when I switched to the M1 Mac's, the performance is night and day. Would highly recommend trying an M1 Mac.
Just use the all intra XAVC S-I codec, any decent workstation will work easily with it. And you get the absolute best image quality that the FX3 can record internally. Hope that helps.
Haha, this "side joke" of an intro is why you're NOT just another guy talking to the camera, about the camera. Well done, and quite hilarious. Props to Anna for the spot on reenactment I'm sure 😂
Hi dany I'm French and I don't understand a word of English, but your videos speak about herself. we don't need to understand the language to enjoy your videos. you're the best youtuber and a great inspiration for many continuous people like that ( thanks google translate)
As someone who owns a C500 MKII I agree, this camera punches way and I mean way above its weight class. Since I got my FX3 I’ve use my C500 MKII less and less. If anything this camera is making me want an FX6 for those built in ND filters.
Lmao Armando. It is crazy. You started with Sony switched to Canon, and are slowly coming back. There is room for that Thanos meme in here somewhere XD
Mine was overheating too Danny, i solved it going to “Menu / Setup / Auto Pwr OFF Temp / Set to High” Now i recorded 4K 60p and it runs out of battery before showing any warning 👏🏻
I love Danny's cons on this camera. He kind of admonishes photogs and filmmakers who concentrate more on image than content. Love it when he starts smiling and giggling. At the end, he tells us that he loves us. Amazing. The FX3 is a beast. Thank you for the review, Danny.
As a student I envy people who can afford to buy the Sony FX3 just as a gimbal camera haha. I'm still trying to find it in my budget to actually buy a gimbal! Great review, Danny - and as always a great motivation!
Just got my FX3 and very happy so far, I was tired just like you of lugging around soo much stuff just to film. The stress about if I was missing a cable, going to run out of batteries, focusing, etc etc. My FX3 semi rigged out weights 1/3 of what my P6K rigged out did..
I don't know about you being an 'average film maker', your videos are all so thoughtful and beautiful and simple, this camera review is case in point 🙌🏾.
LOVED THE INTRO. I have to confess that for over 30 years, I had a beef with Sony and vowed never to buy a Sony product ever, for simply personal reason. I know that they are very good products but it's just a personal thing. I still watched the whole video because I appreciate the way you do things. That being said, if you ever have rigging gear to sell from your C200, please let me know. And if you ever plan to visit another part of the world, I am based in Panama, been here for 15 years, from Canada, and you have a place to stay while you visit. Keep it up man, you Rock !
Hey man I just ran into the over heating yesterday and fixed it. Set the “auto power off” setting to “high” and not standard. Makes a world of difference!
Oh and sorry to keep bothering but that mic just needs a little rubber extender and then it fits well. A nice dude posted it in my old fx3 video if you need the link. It’s an easy fix and very helpful!
@@talonsix unfortunately Sony crippled several things on this right out of the box. Once you find the right settings this camera has been awesome, but I've definitely had my fair share of frustrations. Best RUclips intro of the year!! I’ve watched ever single video you’ve uploaded and you always keep it filmmaker/story first and gear last, I can’t really find that on RUclips. Thank You 🙏🏾
In the middle of deciding to get this camera or the 6kpro and have watch probably every review out there. And I have to say this was by far one of the best. Actually watched it to the end. Some great shots and very funny. Definitely got a new subscriber out of me.
I'm a Z Cam user and I'm making the move just for that very reason. I kinda bought a camera for what I wish I did rather than what I actually do, music videos and run and gun stuff that needs to be done fast and move from gimbal to tripod in seconds rather than de rigging the handle, monitor etc.. great video again Danny.
HAHAH , please never change. i now this is not a tipical review but never change . you are one of the five youtuber that dont make me feel anxiety for all the things that i cant have and love thats that i have (sory for mi ingles). i love you to .from argentina
9:15 Hey Danny, you can get these cheap rubber microphone spacers from Sony to make it fit! Should be on Amazon. They come in a pack of 2 and I cut away like half an inch from one of them, stack them, and now my NTG5 fits perfectly inside the XLR adapter!
1. That intro is GOLD - but also sad :( 2. High Temperature setting in the Sony Menu can fix early overheating (maybe not your issue, but my a7siii never overheats...) 3. Highest codec (ALL-I) will give you files that edit like butter compared to low/mid quality codecs 4. V90 SD Cards from ProGrade & Anglebird are fully compatible with ALL-I. Media for HQ video is $$$ these days 5. Congrats on the new setup! Love your content bro! Welcome to the quirks & also incredibleness of Sony
I’ve been absolutely loving my FX3, incredible image quality and dynamic range. Working with it professionally has been a pure joy, the XLR inputs are great, it’s powerful and reliable. The value of this camera really is insane. Only downside are Sony’s Tough memory cards price tag which gets quite expensive very quickly as you’ll need a lot of them to shoot projects with the all intra 10-bit codec. But the camera itself is brilliant. Nice video, greetings - Filipe
Great review dude! I always love seeing your videos! I have to say though, I reallly miss those Canon colors from your early days! Anyways, love from PA!
I’d love to know how you set up your own LUT to always use. And where you set exposure to always get the best results when adding your LUT’s. Vids look amazing!
Awesome! Sorry for my stupid question about this camera on your newer video...lol. Somehow I missed this video. FX3 is next on my list. I do A LOT of run & gun and gimbal work. I'm so used to the size of the A7Siii now and this would be perfect to pair with it when I need 2 cameras. So much easier to travel with for sure. Thanks Danny!

About overheating: Did you enable high temperature mode? Camera has two temp control mode: one is for handheld operation, which overheats faster and the other one is for tripod/gimbal, which allow to camera work much longer with high temperature, but it can cause low temperature burns if you will hold it in your hands. By default Sony cameras has standard temp mode, but it can be changed giving you dramatic overheat improvement
Wow, you have had such unfortunate incidents with your cameras. I remember when you fell off the one wheel and lost the EOS R. Hope you have better luck with this Sony! Glad you're liking it!!
Dude - felt like throwing on a 70's-era light blue frilly leisure suit there at the beginning. And then you dropped "girth" on us later... basically the perfect gear review vid!
The highest quality modes work perfectly fine on v60 SD cards. The only time you NEED the CF Express Type A cards is for 4k120 All-I. Also, make sure your auto temp off setting is set to high. The A7S III/FX3 should basically never overheat with that setting on.
very interesting take on that intro - love it when filmmakers put in the extra touch in pursuing an idea that sparks the inner flame to making it a reality. Great work mate!
DUDE! this was such a great watch! sooo real and relatable! I have the A7s3 and was looking for reasons to upgrade.. For me the A7s3 still works but it was great to see the other side! Amazing videos dude! thank you!
