this was such a relaxing video to watch! i love seeing how other people use commonplace books ^^ the grids in the midori are that way to mimic japanese manuscript paper/blend that style with standard grids! the format is called genkō yōshi if youre interested ^^
I just finished watching your commonplacing 101 video and decided to watch this one while getting my Field Notes book all prepped up. I feel like it’s a good start for me as sometimes I get intimidated by large white spaces. Anyhow it makes so much sense for you to move into the Midori book. I love it and of course you made it look that much cuter! Again TYFS will continue watching your journey. L❤VE the VIBES…SUBSCRIBED! 🧿❣️✨
I love how your A6 midori commonplace looks, so beautiful! You've inspired me to think about picking it up as a commonplacing possibility 🥰 What a fascinating article you mentioned as well, about the way that geometry and physical spacing informs the metaphors that we use to think about social relationships and proximity ~ I'm curious to take a look. Thank you so much for sharing, Atiya! 💖
Thank you so much, Jennifer! The article is absolutely fascinating! My sick brain didn't do it justice in the video 💀 but it really opened my mind up to a concept I never considered! 🤎
Oh thank you so much for sharing! And I really like seeing how you’re using your new commonplace book & hope you’ll want to share more updates going forward too ☺️ I’ve just started my Field Notes, but the same time I’m still doing some things in my Leuchtturm1917 (journaling/commonplacing as Ive been doing up until now) as well as trying out some daily journaling in my ring planner too, so it’s all a bit chaotic atm 😂🙈 And the thing you said about not wanting to part with your notebook’s really resonates with me! I’m having something similar with the pages in my ring planner I think, because it feels like if I take them out I’m not sure if I’m ready to, but also I haven’t really found the archiving system I want to try out yet, so now there’s a lot of inserts just laying on my coffee table because I haven’t had the energy to go trough them yet 🙈 Do you have any suggestions on how to tackle that? 😅🙈
Thank you so much for watching! 🤎 I'm afraid I have no advice about the rings archiving situation because that's precisely why I don't use rings 💀 The thought of loose pages makes me feel so overwhelmed! But I saw Megan Rhiannon in her latest video offered a solution to archiving? I'd recommend watching that 🤎🤎 Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
@@dozyghoul It’s totally okay! ☺️ And yes, I saw that video, but I might watch it again since I really like watching her videos. The struggle for me now is with all the measurements & things to really know what’ll work as storage. It would be such a bummer to order something & then realise that I’ve ordered a product that doesn’t fit my inserts 🙈
I feel the same way about my commonplace material. I don’t want to part with it. I think my solution to that is to use rings, but I also have a hard time letting go of my 520 page bound book. And I’m not a 2 book person.
No kidding. All the journal, commonplace books videos I’ve watched, everyone has had a cold or been sick😂 is it part of the aesthetics? 😂😂😂 Also, get well soon!!
Ahh I wish it was aesthetics! I think there's a bug going around the UK rn 💀 doesn't help the heating in my house is broken so it's most likely colder inside than it is outside 🫡

Completely understand how a two book system is not for everyone! I hope rings works for you 🤎🤎
I love grid Midori A6 or B6.
