Oh man, Linda can SING and is additionally SO BEAUTIFUL! Bless her heart, she has brought us so much joy during her long and wonderful career. Sending BIG LOVE to her always.
I was lucky enough to see this in Central Park when it first came to be. My dad was NYPD and loved to sing. The chorus behind the scenes would grab him and he would sing with them. One day he took my sister and I to see it. He grabbed Rex Smith and said" hey Rex come meet my daughters "and we all took a picture. I also saw Kevin Kline and Linda Ronstadt walk in together. What great memories!
My father was LAPD and he loved this musical, we had this on VHS and I grew up on it. It stands up to the test of time as a classic. Linda was at her best performance and Rex was a true rock star, it was and will always be an electric rendition. I’m so happy I grew up with such a gem. I hope people growing up today can appreciate such an original piece. You’re so lucky you and your dad could have those memories. I could only imagine.
The first time I heard this piece of this tune was in an animated movie from the mid eighties called An American Tail where Fievel escapes from a sweatshop to find his family in New York City. So this is the first time in a long while that I am hearing this song in its entirety.
I don't know where you got that she's suffering dementia. She has a Parkinson's-like disease, but she's still sharp as a tack and her humor is still very much there.
@copferthat You should delete your comment. She most definitely does not suffer from dementia. Read her takedown of trump, who came to Tuscon and defiled the venue named after her.

Right on with your sentiments❤
The amazing Linda Ronstadt could (and did) sing any genre and not only crush it, but also make it look effortless!
". . . take any heart - but ours! . ." So beautiful!

Who's here from the Charismatic Vouce?
I had to refresh my memory about her range
I am.
Me! Never saw this and was curious.
Moi
🙋♂️
She is fantastic, and looks incredible, but Linda Ronstadt is also hysterically funny in her obliviousness to Frederick
Linda Ronstadt really had a diverse range of vocal talent. She can do rock music, songs for children's movies AND Opera. This performance proves it.
See this at a movie theatre, Linda bigger than life singing her heart out 😊
Killer performances from the entire cast makes this one of the funniest musicals (not just operettas) OF ALL TIME!
Always loved her music...But I never knew she could hit these notes! LOVED THIS!!!
While you are listening to this song remember that is the Queen of Rock singing. There has never been another singer like her, she can sing anything.
My word....could Linda hit those notes
This blew me away the first time I saw it in 1984. It still blows me away now. The girl can sing a Mexican phone book.😮😅Surreal beauty. Bravo.
One of the most multifaceted artists to ever grace us with her presence. Long live Linda!
When she gets up into whistle tone, I'm out. No one should be that freaking talented.
The Charismatic Voice brought me here.
The same.
D-i-t-t-o! 🎉
And you see why she was shocked !!!
Linda Ronstadt is amazing my favorite female vocalist ever
Same!
Exquisite taste
Gorgeous Linda Ronstadt 😍
Thank You Jackson and Dolly for those wonderful and true comments about Miss Linda Ronstadt ❤❤❤ PEACE
This is forever burned into my brain as one of the most insanely virtuosic vocal performances I've ever seen.
Still the best film version of Pirates, including Kevin Kline as the Pirate King.
Quelle splendeur !
Chills! Every. Time.
Simply astounding
Beautiful❤❤❤❤❤❤
There is nothing she can’t sing ❤

Greatest, most diverse female vocalist of her generation.
If opera singers sang like this....like real people...I'd be there every week 😏
You mean if opera singers sang like they were lip-syncing to a studio recording they made weeks or months before?
@@grantyoungblood7895 LOL. Indeed, but don't forget Linda Ronstadt did this live on stage too.
She's not at all well now, she an't sing and suffers dementia. Tragic, thank you Linda for such memories
In 2019 a new diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy was announced, however no one and nowhere is there evidence she is suffering from dementia.
I don't know where you got that she's suffering dementia. She has a Parkinson's-like disease, but she's still sharp as a tack and her humor is still very much there.
@@gregorycosta1043It's what I heard and if it's wrong I am very happy to be. All the best Linda
A form of Parkinson disease, she can remember just fine

Be still my beating heart....
Linda is fabulous in this. I've sung this song and its difficult and fun!
Ah, Linda! What a treasure!
just one word superbe !!
Brilliant fun!
marvellous
A favourite
Thank you so much for posting this…Linda has been singing the songs of my life since The Stone Poneys. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
I saw this show on Broadway at the Uris 2x
Take Heart 😘❤️ Be true ❤️
Linda is a singing prodigy!
you missed Linda Ronstadt 's performance in Pirates of Penzance of Poor Wandering One
Just perfect. And delightful!
This song can also hear it in An American Tail and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.
Super.
Magnifico! Chills up my spine.
It's such a shame that Linda Rondstat can't sing anymore. She has a condition similar to Parkinsons that makes it effectively impossible.
“Take heart of grace”…. Beautiful mind…. She knows how to to take down T$$ump. That was the title of my MA history thesis.
Can’t believe she lost the Tony to Lauren Bacall who stunk
👌❤️
Was there anything that voice couldn't do?
so much better at rock music
Well, then go listen to her sing Heatwave 😏
*than rock music
Sorry, I was replying to the original comment. So much better "than" rock music. Failed joke @@engineeringartist4801
LR was sublime singing this masterpiece. If you want to hear her singing rock music that’s fine but what a perfect voice for this!
@@engineeringartist4801 They are comparing and staying that this better than rock music
