Can someone please explain following two points:-
1. Isn't the extra transparency harmful for privacy? Meaning thereby when two peers transfer the amount, all the stakeholders can see such transfer and is it not harmful for businesses?
2. How are the transactions verified by other data-holders?

First of all Please note that Blockchain technique should NOT be used in Private information (watch it at 15:15 ) , It is distributed ledger system hence can be applied in case of transparency and distribution of data. Like in case of transactions, counting of votes, booking of train and flight tickets etc.
1. all related users (suppose all bank staffs within a bank) are linked to each other and any transaction will be shown on every user’s system. They should access the public data (such as transaction id, transaction amount ) and Not private data. Hence use of Blockchain should be done carefully.
2. After P2P transaction, the details will be shown on each system since all systems (blocks) are linked to each other in Chain form on distributed Ledger. Hence the transactions can be verified on any system.

No, the P2P data transfer is cryptographic hence there is no chance of data leak.
