Michael Schenker is a living legend. I was very fortunate to meet UFO when the “Force It” album came out. I brought my album to a show and all the members of UFO signed it. Phil Mogg, Michael Schenker, Pete Way, and Andy Parker, It is one of my most prized possessions.
Nossa você é um homem de muita sorte parabéns
A legend indeed. My favorite all time guitarist. I had the surprise chance meeting with him at a bar the same night I saw him live once. Drank 3or 4 beers with him and Robin McAuley. Chatted music for bout an hour.
An absolute Legend of rock music. Many famous metal guitarists of the 80s and 90s have very high regards for this Man. He seems to have overcame his trouble past and is looking better with age.
Congratulations on a great career MS!
His attitude and outlook is SO positive now. He's very healthy and happier than ever in these last years. Somehow, he's found it, peace and understanding in where he belongs in the world. I wish we all had that!
What a legend.
Saw Michael Schenker Fest live in 2019... never seen a happier guitar god... and WHAT a player he is! At his age, to play 2.5 to 3 hours is a feat in and of itself. And I agree with another poster that he blew off Jimi Hendrix's guitar.. not interested in the past and/or any of the memorabilia... He just loves what he does and he is more of an innovator than anything else. His work on the Strangers in the Night album alone was stunning.... ROCK ON MICHAEL!
Incredibly talented guitarist who was never interested in being famous, just being as one with the music.
Someone once referred to Michael as " mercurial ".........and I'd say they were spot on.
One of the greats if not the greatest melodic masters of metal in my lifetime. His work with UFO belongs in vaults of rock history so a thousand years from now it can be examined and admired by future societies
amen
Obsession has a place in rock history
Strangers In The Night
I remember back in the early 80s when the big three were EVH, Randy Rhoads and Michael Schenker .
@@TheHumbuckerboy Randy Rhoads was a big fan of Michael's, and was influenced by him, as was EVH, although in later years he wouldn't admit much about being influenced by anyone. lol
Hugely influential guitarist with an instantly recognizable style.

One of my favorite guitar’s heroes. 🤘🏻🎸
What a cool guy with a great attitude.
Saw UFO several times in their prime and Michael's guitar was so powerful and unique. A GOAT of the 70's rock Gods, for sure. UFO is underrated in my opinion. Phil Moog was a very good front man, too.
Not a patch on his predecessor, Phil Mogg...
@@darylhickman7793 Huh? Not a patch? Explain...
@@emersonlangstaff1527 It's sarcasm, because you misspelled Mogg, as Moog.
@@1Phepsi oh, lol
LOL, I preferred Phil Moog’s son, Phil Mini Moog.
Michael is such a happy, positive person! Living la vida rocka! What an inspiration to all of us. \m/
M.S. is, in my opinion, the most
underated axe handler in modern rock n roll.. He's one of my top five
hands down..( I'm 65) Let's keep on rocking Michael Schenker ..
✌💖 to all
im just a few years younger than you, and schenker is my top # 1, number two, is way way behind him.
Underrated or better overlooked by the masses taste that has always been driven by money and the TV mainstream sh#it, not by musicians or the hard-core rock community. Everybody there knows who guitar God Michael Schenker is!

Rock on BrotherMan..🎸

Very first concert ever was UFO and Triumph...always a huge Schenker fan.
Icon, Genius, Legend - All these words apply.
U said it all, LOVE MS, PURE ARTIST+GENIUS

Just saw him a couple nights ago. This man is amazing talent. He's gotten better like fine Wine.
He gave zero shits about seeing Hendrix’s guitar. Hahaha!
@@mrfairact8662 I don’t know, collectors spend a lot of money on guitars like that. So its got to have Providence to back up the sell. Jimi had a lot of strats and the 70s wasn’t that long ago to have good providence. So a lot of them are really out there.
It makes me smile to see him happy and healthy. Rock on Michael - you and Buck are my all time fav guitar players.
Me too...and Buckonce played thru my gear Iin My living room. shredding thru hru the hits and just wailing almost full volume away lovng my guitar rig. About 1995. It was insane and it happened.
Mike inspired so many guitar players from the 80's-90's. All of them really.
Guitars are just tools, Michael never idolized them or collected them and during his Gibson years he had no more than a couple of Flying V to be played , period. He's truly the real deal, he doesn't care about any super advanced equipment, he needs just an amplifier and a wah pedal, the magic has always been in his hands.
He makes it look so easy 😂😂 I’d be happy to have a tenth of his gift.🤔👍👍❤️🎸✌️☘️

Rock on Michael... You are awesome! 🤘
Sounds good, feels good. True technique of a true musician.
This is a very nice video with one of my old time guitar hero ! Great to see him playing and still inspired in his old age.He also come across as a nice man.
Dude is 64! Looks so rockstar, and, better now than he did 20 years ago.
UFO
I don't agree he is terribly frail and thin.
@@martymartin2894 Maybe, looks fresh enough for what he went through!
QRAWLER Holy Shit looking at him hearing him mind boggling.
Haha "Cassette recorder"!! So I'm not the only one!
He looks fantastic!
very cool - Michael is so laid back love it
Saw him twice in the last 2 years on the Michael Schenker Fest tours in Chicago. First time since the early 80's. He looks great and is playing really well.
I saw him and Uli in NYC in 04 and I just saw Uli in KY and Michael in Indy last Feb. Killer shows. Then Rona hit just after I caught Alice Cooper and haven't had a show since.
He’s so unassuming on how big an influence he is to so many players! Got to love guy!!!
One of the true greats in my opinion, He's had his ups & downs, but he's been true to his beliefs and against all odds too, He just lives for guitar playing period and a great inspiration to us all and has never stopped Rockin his socks off. Respect!
Against all odds indeed. Quite a journey this guy had.
Funny hearing his Hannover slang still shine through even in another language ;-). And good to hear his riffing is still tight.
Awesome Matt. Michael Schenker is my guitar hero since 1974.
Super excellent interview of a true legend who plays from the heart and soul!! Thank you!
One of the best interviews I've seen with Michael.
Damn, Michael is just an amazing person and musician. Respect!
such a nice guy michael is,hes an amazing guitarist.
Living legend 🤘🎸
Michael schenker is a genius on guitar.
Michael schenker.. El puto amo.. Brillante siempre
i learnt a lot from Michael’s technique, specially his aggressive string bending is amazing
I love Michael Schenker
just incredible! This is why he is so great
MS is a piece of history.... 👍
… and a piece of the present also!
instantly recognizable style, original and his vibrato is amazing.
One of my Heroes 😁
All the years he's been playing and I finally caught his show at the Whisky in 2018. Great player and awesome show!
Play and Discover, perfect
Love this guy
Excellent piece, might be the best Michael Schenker interview I've seen.
Legendary!!!
Wish this Great interview was longer, with lots more of Michael Playing the Strings...
Do you guys have more you can post...?
KEEP ON ROCKiN MICHAEL SCHENKER...
Schenker oozes coolness!!!
Great video! We love Michael Schenker! #blondebomber #MSG #MichaelSchenkerFest #RIPTedMcKenna🥁
Schenker and Rhoads were my top inspirations back in the day. I can’t play like either one of them, but there you go...
Great to see him still going!
if what i've read is correct, he was Rhoads inspiration as well..
diabel1969 I read that as well. If only more of it rubbed off on me!
@@diabel1969 It is totally correct, Rhoads exact words on Guitar Player magazine were "I like MS playing a lot"
@@diabel1969
He’s was one of Rhoads’ favorites. Rhoads were very into melodic rock but never had any so called idols. He had his favorite and Michael was one of them along with Blackmore, Lesly Wes, Glen Buxton, and some few others. Made sense bc He was really into classical guitar
@@superfly19751 Rhoads called Michael the Mozart of rock guitar.
Such a cool guy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
He's so together, good to see, what a great guy
I am learning him again, 20 years after i started guitar to have his career
Watching Micheal I’m just smiling he is such a great personality
Schenker with UFO the best! Had no idea Ted McKenna passed. His drums on the Assault Attack album was exceptional.
Solid drummer. Was great with Sensational Alex Harvey band and Rory Gallagher prior to MSG.
paul raymond also passed
@@izzimichaels2892 Pretty recently. He played in Savoy Brown before MSG. Good musician and very cool with the fans, he signed me quite a lot of vinyl stuff

Wow! A really true guitar legend in your shop. And he seems like a really great layed back cool guy. \m/😎
Michael is greatness.
Dropping Jon Lords name on the keyboard amp was priceless
LEGEND! One of the all time best rock guitarists! Just listen to his emotive, bluesy heavy guitar work on that first solo MSG release... i've never heard anything like it! Sometimes brings me to tears!
That first MSG album is a true classic metal album. I love that album so much. I still listen to it to this day. It never gets old. It's a masterpiece of an album and it really rocks! \m/
That first album was amazing. All killers no fillers. Still like to listen to it all the way through. Love the albums with Gary Barden and Graham Bonnet. I feel the vocalists inspired him to produce great guitar work. Not a fan of his work with other vocalists but good to see he is still producing music.
@@redmed10 A lot of his stuff with Robin McCauley was great.
@@neckbeard8536
I'll be honest he's just not to my taste. Don't mean to bring down the mood but though I'm so glad that Michael is still making music and touring. I haven't really connected with his music for a while but I still retain the hope that I will.
Cry for the Nations - what a tune!
Just awesome
He is one of the most under appreciated players ever. I learned so much from him. One of the best.
legend indeed, when I started I was listening to the amazing songs in One Night At Budokan....and that climax in Into The Arena.....woooooow.
If you want to hear him at an amazing show, type in Courvoisier Concerto/Lost Horizons from LIVE at Castle Donnington. It's a really hard to find CD that he did after he had just lost Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden walked out on stage and said: "Surprise, surprise, Good to see you all Donnington" and The Mad Axeman proceeds to burn England to the GROUND!!! CRANK THAT SHIT TO STUN!
Michael Schenker is God!🤘🎸
Class act guitarist, huge inspiration
My favorite guitarist . Fan from Chicago.
That kicked ass !!!
Amazing! Thanks for the upload !!!!
Michael seems like a genuinely nice guy.
one of the best guitarists ever and its like he doesnt know it and he doesnt care.
dont fool yourself, he knows and he cares.
@@izzimichaels2892 he cares for the things that really matter and for ART, not for random pieces of wood held together by glue and a coat of paint on top
LMAO
Michael Schenker what a humble guy
Top 5 fav for me! I own his signature Flying V, plays very nice!
Wow! It's good to see he is still really excited about making music and playing guitar! Rock out Michael! :-) \^^/
Crazy Talented
Funny! The shop owner is like "You gotta see Hendrix's guitar! And Mike is, "Meh, whatever."
I thought his reaction was quite polite.
Best thing I've heard in a while. "I don't practice. I play and discover." :)
I got a lot of my licks from playing along with those early MSG albums.
Wow such an amazing soul down to earth dude...😎👊
VERY GOOD INTERVIEW. ONE OF MY FAVORITES. MR. SCHENKER
This is great.
That was a great interview. I liked the impromptu feel of it and it seemed like he would be great to just hang out with. Such a mellow rock star!!
I have been a fan & have seen him play since 1978 & I have never understood the comments from people who say he is the most underrated guitar player of all time, at no time that I can remember that he was not in the conversations of greatest guitar players of all time over the years, how can he be underrated when his influence has Inspired so many including the people that say he's the most underrated player of all time?
Very cool!
Michael Schenker is one of the greatest rock guitar gods ever!!!! I think he is one of the most influencial guitar players in the World. He is among this SMALL group of influencial people like Van Halen, Uli Jon Roth, Ace Frehley, Hendrix, Vaughn, etc
love that you included Ace in that list, he really is great.
Seen him live many times over the years he is playing better than ever now. A true guitar god 🎸✌one of a kind
ln God We Trust boring shit !
putting Uli on that list shows your musical knowledge. well done. though Ace might be the weakest on the list, he made me and millions of others into guitar players for sure.
Never heard Ace Frehly and Uli Jon Roth in the same sentence before. Doesn't make any sense. Kiss is for preteen boys and nostalgic adults, could not play their instruments very well but put on a good show. Theatre yes, talented musicians, hell no.
"my guitar god" is living his best moments in his life in these last years....He´s smiling and in good mood. I saw you live here in Brazil some years ago with Gary Barden on vocals and Chris Slade on drums and it was awesome !!!!!!!!!!!
Caralho, quando foi isso? Que ano foi? Em SP? Tem tantos shows por aqui que eu acabo sabendo só depois que passou... tem algum site ou aplicativo pra não perder shows locais?
Michael just rocks seen him years ago and to see him now on RUclips he hasnt changed a bit… he just rocks.
Top Shelf! You think anything else, you need a musical checkup. Matt nice guitar shop! looks very comfortable and open.
"Feels good, sounds good, I'm happy" so true! Thanks Matt!
Thank you for posting this.
I love his complete lack of interest in Jimi’s guitar.
right?
@steve k. Alrightee then.
He is a legend himself and never interested in Strats.
@@yellowlightingbolt On the nosie. :)
And even less in T-bone Walker
What an original!
Huge insight into a master composer's mind. Thanks
Michael is so much fun to watch on stage. I have seen him in UFO in the 70's and the reunion they did as well as MSG and a killer acoustic set he did with Robin McAuley. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your music and your fans Michael!

Interesting Man....we can learn a lot from him and the good old days of rock!!
Saw MSG at Wolverhampton Civic Hall in 1981, Reading Rock Festival in 1982, Bristol Colston Hall in 1982, and London Kentish Town in 2018.....with the same group of friends. His music has been one of the soundtracks of my life and I'm grateful.
I’ve seen them so many times...loved UFO too!
