What Leon says is the truth. Once you have these skills you don't worry about getting work. Your only worry becomes finding a good place to work or to do the work that you find interesting. I left a full time job for personal life reasons in 2020 and decided to take a break from work. I then decided 6 months in that I do need some work but not full time. I got a 100% remote contract job within two weeks at a very nice place that has been accommodating to my schedule. I can't think of any other field that has this much flexibility in the type of work and the ability to do remote work.
@@Sevaleries I will preface this by saying I have 20 years of experience in my field so I am not entry level. I had turned on the I am open to contact by recruiters in my profile and I noted that I was looking for remote part time work. Not all contacts were for remote/part time but being contacted on a regular basis was nice for the ego. Once your in this field, if you need work you wont have to look very long.

Just happened on this site and am blown away with this guy. To give this info for free to help people is just awesome. I have done HTML and CSS but never thought of marketing it to do for clients. But this presentation alone is worth a lot of money. Years of experience given away with imagination from a brilliant man. Thank you! Wow!
here I come class 15, almost 3week in and I already learn some html css java basic(I do read the homework Leon assign) and my typing speed from 33 wpm > 46 wpm. just discover something call Full Stack Dev Roadmap, still a long long way, but we all know it's a marathon.
I watched the Pokemon anime before I played the games. For that reason I am a fire starter main for lyfe, that Charmander story. Hold up let me get a tissue.
I got got my first client by sharing what I have been on social media! FB!! They reached out to me after I had been posting what I have been working on!!
Don't know if this is too late for a reply but You said you have been following these courses for a while now.... while if I was in your shoes, I will include #100Devs in the 2nd section of your "experience" in the resume....after all it's free and you have been following
Does anyone know a good reccuring monthly payment system that I can apply to my client's monthly maintenance & SEO fee? I think setup an automate payment withdrawal will be much beneficial long term
It's a start though! If you can't find people in your area start looking on google maps for businesses and checking out there website. Call/ come prepared with a list of issues you noticed with their website and WHY it's important to fix it. It's pretty effective if you can find an issue thats actually costing them customers like slow loading times, broken pages, unclear information, very old website, etc.
It’s every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 pm est time. You can join with the links in the video description. There’s also a catch up crew that can help you with starting out in the discord
Lots of good information shared here. Is there a document or something where all links/resources shared in this video are written down, so I don't have to skip through the video to find them? However, this video committed the cardinal sin of that all these freelancing videos do: they assume you have a network of people dying to pay you to build websites. And if you don't have a network, just magically become a master of something. Yeah, sure... Sorry, this video really does have a lot of excellent advice and resources, but it fails in the most important part, how to land a client for people like me who are outside of small town USA and don't have a network.
If you've watched any of the other videos, you would know that is his #1 thing he tells everyone to do. Network, network, NETWORK. If you haven't watched them, then you should.
Most of the emphasis was place on cold calling/door to door If I recall. I don't know if you watched the video all the way through but somewhere along the lines (at least I believe it's this one) he goes over cold calling.

Quickbooks Online and Square can both do this. There are probably other options as well.
Unfortunately I'm from india and i only got $15 client today :(

i'm 15 minutes in, and i wonder if there will actually be legal advice or not. When people say this they still usually give advice 🧐
